Back to Normal? Birmingham to Aberdeen with the Loganair Embraer ERJ145

  • Hello guys and once again I’m taking a Loganair flight - this time on the Embraer ERJ145 from Birmingham International up to Aberdeen, Scotland. A little bit bigger than the ERJ135 I took from Inverness a while back and I was excited to see what it was like but, more importantly, whether the famous Loganair catering had returned.
    Come with me for this journey as I look at the aircrafts interior, facilities and what it has to offer on this quick domestic flight. Thanks as always for the support, it really means a lot and I do appreciate it greatly.
    Cheers for now,
    Mark

    Hi, only found your channel a few weeks ago but now I'm hooked. Love the detail and have really enjoyed trips local to me in Liverpool. Interesting to see the other plane from yours... I find it quite unusual to see much else from a sky high plane. Did see a number of other planes above and below when flying Man to Abu Dhabi with Etihad, mostly along the corridor south of Iran where the skies are very clear.

      Hi Simon, cheers mate. Yep, both liked Aberdeen. We weren’t there long, back down to London on the Calsleeper the same day. That video will be out in a few weeks time😊👍

    No tweed antimacassar! Good to see the Tunnocks has returned. The ERJ seems incredibly quiet on take off, is that a fair assessment? Great vid as always.

    • @LetsMakeaTrip
      @LetsMakeaTrip  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, and i think I’ve had my fill of Tunnocks over the last few weeks! I went on another 145 a couple of weeks later and purposely sat at the back. I think it’s quite a lot noisier there for obvious reasons!

    I love watching your videos, particularly when your flying I often watched your videos wandering what it would be like to do it myself. Now I find myself flying as part of my commute to work flying from Aberdeen to Amsterdam Schiphol for onward helicopter flight from Den Helder to the oil rig I work on. Strange how life changes

    • @LetsMakeaTrip

      Hi Walter, thanks for the kind words and yes, I guess as well as being a key hub for the North Sea helicopters, it is connected via KLM as well. I think they fly Embraer’s on this route? Overall ABZ is , in my opinion, a really interesting airport. Good luck with the job 👍😊

    In my neck of the woods we get a lot of 1-2 config planes, I actually prefer the 2 side even when travelling alone.. depends on the load factors, but usually i get seated alone and get more room than if seated on the single side. But it is not risk free! Great video as always, interesting plane

    • @LetsMakeaTrip
      @LetsMakeaTrip  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers melglobus. Not this trip but a couple of weeks later I was seated on the double side in an aisle seat and there was someone else next to me. Needless to say, as soon as boarding complete, I moved to the back where I had the whole row to myself 😂

      Hey Liam thanks mate! Love Fort William and the train up there - I did the sleeper a few years back, the old one and it was an amazing journey in real deep snow across Rannoch Moor. It was just unforgettable. We didn’t stop in town long as we were heading up to Mallaig but yes, the whole area is beautiful and I hope to get back there soon. I’ve got a video coming out soon back down to London from Aberdeen on the Calsleeper so watch out for that. All the best, Mark 😊👍

    Great as usual, and good to see you back in the sky! £75 is a bargain I'd say for a legacy carrier on a regional route - look at the prices for NWI-ABZ! As for close inflight neighbours, I once caught another aircraft on film on my way to Athens a few years ago - I'll try to link to it below. Cheers for now 😜

      Just watched it - nice shot! Much better than mine, I can easily see the A340, thanks for sharing. Yes £75 not too bad for Loganair and I’ve still to try one or two other routes with them which I reckon I can get for around £50 in one of their 10% sales. Maybe end up in Derry for the next one 🤔

    • @LetsMakeaTrip
      @LetsMakeaTrip  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct! Yes I took this very same route a couple of weeks after, same day, same time and was on G-RJXH which also didn’t have the ‘tail tartan’ but did have the tartan antimacassars. Bit random it seems 😂

    Only issue i had with Logan air. Food. If, like me, unable to take Lactose. Chocolate, cakes or biscuits are a no go. Alas last time i took a Logan air flight. (Before covid hit) there was no substitute so nothing to eat. Ok was a short flight, but in this day and age of known food issues. Well…

    • @LetsMakeaTrip
      @LetsMakeaTrip  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, it’s pretty minimal. I like Tunnocks but I don’t think they stretch as far as lactose-free stuff unfortunately.
