hi, great video & fantastic review. I use a carter insatiable 3 & a club member let me use his blade pro & what can I say, a new personal best for a Portsmouth round (60 arrows at 20 yds on a 60 cm triple spot) it just feels like it's a part of me I love my carter but this is a whole new level. thank you for a great informative video I probably wouldn't have tried the blade if it wasn't for this review needless to say " roll on payday lol" thanks again
Hello, Can you compare the head length from the bottom of finger grooves to the jaws on this Blade to the Wise Choice? I have a 1st Choice release which I believe is the same as Wise Choice.
Thank you for watching! Personally I prefer the N2I. The trigger on a Carter is my favorite because it's very positive and crisp. I also like the two finger design on the N2I because it helps eliminate torque on the release. I haven't made any plans to use the Sweet Spot Pro for a review. I prefer a non safety hinge because I feel the safety just adds another step and additional movement that isn't needed. If you set up a hinge and use it correctly, you'll never need a safety.
rcrchery thanks.. I have the n2i and silverback right now and just traded for a Stan shootoff which I am really liking the way it fits my hand. I shot the tru ball sweet spot today at my local shop and felt the 3-4 fingers on the back tension over the silverback gave me a little more leverage to fire it more comfortably but was curious your thoughts. I like to have both back tension for practice and target and thumb for target and hunting. I like in your video how the blade opens and closes when cocked which is great for hunting. Just thought I may try it and the sweet spot since I'm a little more comfortable with the 3/4 finger from what I've found from shooting my Stan shootoff
I do like the 3 finger hinges to have the extra leverage from the third finger. Because of how the hand is made, the third finger will help pull the hinge around for sure. The Blade Release will feel pretty similar in your hand to the Sweet Spot which would be a plus if you liked how that release felt in your hand.
rcrchery thanks! Now gotta hit the forum classifieds and see if I can find one of each without breaking the bank on new prices haha. Keep brining the great videos. Big fan
I'd be careful with adjustments like that. Over time it can lead to punching and not loading the back to steady your float as much as possible. I like to have enough tension on the button where I can pre load my thumb to it and that allows a direction for the pressure/energy to go once I start my shot execution. It helps steady you up better too.
The Too Simple is actually the only release I know of that has such a short neck, so yes when you go to the Nock On release, you'll have to adjust draw length/loop.
There is now, yes. The original Blade Pro is what you see in my video but the newer models have the Quick Silver finish. The newest this year also has the flex design. Same release, but the handle now allows for more customization. And my two finger attachment!
If it's something you think can be smoothed out with some polishing wool then I'd try to get it fixed that way. If not though, you can contact Tru Ball and they'd probably make it right for you.
The anchor point will be very similar but the feel is different. The Blade Pro is more like the HT. It has a swept back handle on the third finger and the finger beds are wider too. It's a really comfortable release though.
There may be a burr on the hook from the release. Take a cotton swap and run over the release body and hook where the loop goes and see if it pulls anything from it. You can use a very fine sand paper or polishing cloth to get it smoothed out.
the trigger, the black part where you called it thumb release at the beginning of the video the factory setting is swing inward, and i noticed you swing yours outward.
I just match it with my hand shape to be in a natural position. I set this one up to shoot with just two fingers and it's turned a good bit, index down. So swinging the thumb barrel around like that helped me get my thumb onto it while in a natural position.
interesting, yes, i got one shortly after your video, i been trying to use 3 finger, but find it hard to angle my wrist, i'll give 2 finger a try, thank you
The click noise on shooting can be an issue, considering the flight time of an arrow will be 0.2 to 0.3 of a second. The arrow noise when its flying will be more of a give away.
A heavier release can give more resistance to the release hand, the same as a stabilizer would for a bow. This can help you have less movement when you make mistakes. Also, the heavier release gives some weight in the hand and helps you hold the release without feeling like you'll need a death grip on it.
i tried someone release this weekend and notice a big difference from wrist to trigger. beside lining up peep with sight for the shot, my hand dont really know where to anchor atm, i think i just need to practice more. thank you again
got this release today shot about 150 arrows absolutely love it thanks for info
It's a great feeling release in the hand for sure. I've thought about getting another one even.
Good video this is my first year using a hand release I using a Scott's exxus right now starting out .
That's a nice release, I've heard a lot of good about it.

You're welcome. Congrats on your new personal best!!
hi Rob, I tried 2 finger and noticed a big difference, maybe the next thing I should try, is stiff up the trigger, thank you very much
Just got blade pro flex....very happy

Looks like the Blade is about 3/16 longer than the Wise Choice.
thanks pal I think I'll contact tru ball it may be to much metal to remove
I have the tru-ball max pro 4 finger on order. This will be my first thumb release what is your opinion on this release? Thanks.
I've been looking at those nice
Great video, would love to know your opinion on the Nock 2 it vs the Blade Pro. Also any thoughts or upcoming product reviews on the Sweet Spot Pro?
Thank you for watching! Personally I prefer the N2I. The trigger on a Carter is my favorite because it's very positive and crisp. You're welcome. Haha, yea that's the best place to do it for sure! Thank you for watching and sharing the videos!
I've tuned the trigger down it Goes off with the slightest touch best release I've ever used
I'd be careful with adjustments like that. Over time it can lead to punching and not loading the back to steady your float as much as possible. I have a Carter to simple release I would like to get the new Nock on release is that going to screw me up with my draw length
The Too Simple is actually the only release I know of that has such a short neck, so yes when you go to the Nock On release, you'll have to adjust draw length/loop.
Thank you
So is there a tru ball blade pro and a tru ball blade pro with quicksilver?
There is now, yes. The original Blade Pro is what you see in my video but the newer models have the Quick Silver finish. The newest this year also has the flex design. Same release, but the handle now allows for more customization. And my two finger attachment!
it's Sharp on the cut out where the blade sits in really sharp both sides
If it's something you think can be smoothed out with some polishing wool then I'd try to get it fixed that way. If not though, you can contact Tru Ball and they'd probably make it right for you.
Between the Blade Pro and the Nock 2 It, which has the shorter neck?
The Nock 2 It will have the shorter neck.
i have the tru-ball HBC is the blade pro feel and anchor point the same as the HBC?
The anchor point will be very similar but the feel is different. The Blade Pro is more like the HT. It has a swept back handle on the third finger and the finger beds are wider too. It's a really comfortable release though.
rcrchery thx bro love all your videos extremely detailed full support for ya
Thank you very much!! That's much appreciated.
the blade release is cutting through my d-loop any advice would be great
There may be a burr on the hook from the release. Take a cotton swap and run over the release body and hook where the loop goes and see if it pulls anything from it. You can use a very fine sand paper or polishing cloth to get it smoothed out.
for the thumb level, is it better to be close to your thumb? or far from it?
Are meaning about the trigger on the release?
the trigger, the black part where you called it thumb release at the beginning of the video
the factory setting is swing inward, and i noticed you swing yours outward.
I just match it with my hand shape to be in a natural position. I set this one up to shoot with just two fingers and it's turned a good bit, index down. So swinging the thumb barrel around like that helped me get my thumb onto it while in a natural position.
interesting, yes, i got one shortly after your video, i been trying to use 3 finger, but find it hard to angle my wrist, i'll give 2 finger a try, thank you
What size did you get medium or large
It's a medium.
The click noise on shooting can be an issue, considering the flight time of an arrow will be 0.2 to 0.3 of a second. The arrow noise when its flying will be more of a give away.
Who did the mod on the ht/hbc?
I did. It was a lot of fun, but really messy haha
rcrchery any tips on the mod? I did a ht anodized. But I have a hbc and wanna cut the third finger off.
is a heavier release better?
A heavier release can give more resistance to the release hand, the same as a stabilizer would for a bow. This can help you have less movement when you make mistakes. Also, the heavier release gives some weight in the hand and helps you hold the release without feeling like you'll need a death grip on it.
thats interesting, i'm look into that purple blade, thank you very much on all your detail video and response as well and replying back, thank you
You're welcome!
i tried someone release this weekend and notice a big difference from wrist to trigger. beside lining up peep with sight for the shot, my hand dont really know where to anchor atm, i think i just need to practice more. thank you again
