    So many comments are really about the decor. When buying any new manufactured home you have choices of wall type, colors of all surfaces, different floor covering, layout change is available at a fee. You can ask for allowance on getting up graded appliaces etc. Nothing is set instone.

    I really like the floor plan but those walls on the bedroom side of the house cheapen it tremendously. That is a major no no in my book. The bedrooms are a lovely big size but the laundry area definately needs more cabinets in it. I like the cozy feeling of the home but seriously put in sheet rock! lol Thanks

    The pantry is great with lots of storage space for all those appliances not used every day, but just one small set of drawers. It's always sad when they don't do draw-over on all the base cabinets. And always my big pet peeve is; the laundry is big enough to put furnace AND water heater access in there, but they chose to stick access in a remote closet - have these folks never lived in a mobile home and had to get the water heater replaced? Leaking water on carpets throughout the home is not ideal.

    • @GeckoHiker
      @GeckoHiker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In the old days most mobile homes had outside access for the water heater. We remodeled a 1967 Roce southern model in Missouri and consolidated the plumbing to a central area so that everything could be easier to maintain and keep warm in the winter. And added insulation, sheet rock, and under floor heating. It's a fishing lodge now.

    • @AKHWJ3ST

      @MrsBilla-nu8qb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    • @Dina52328
      @Dina52328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@AKHWJ3ST I agree. Modern home construction is inferior compared to older homes that were solidly built back then. Try to kick an inside wall of an older home and you break your foot. On a new home, your foot would go right through the drywall or sheetrock. For example, true story, during an argument my sister threw an old phone book at her husband but missed and hit the flimsy drywall. Consequently, she ended up making a big hole in the wall 😆. I live in a house that is going on 130 years old that has stood the test of time; solidly built from bricks and hard plaster. Sure, there has been repairs and renovations but the house will still be standing long after I’m gone.

      Yeah build quality has been slipping my 2019 Palm Harbor has many issues, but for the most part they used good materials. I expect mine to last at least 50 years. Mine is house wrapped and well blocked and siting on a cement pad. My 27'x 76' double wide was only on the line for 96 hours which was a shame since they were many quality control issues that had to be addressed on site by the manufacurer that probably cost them thirty or forty thousand to take care of for less then 24 more hours on the line and attention to detail.

      @@michelleg9194 new 2-3 bedroom builds under 1200sq ft in Cali are about 120k. No traditional financing is available for mobile homes so you have to come with 5%-10% down plus closing and for us a full years worth of insurance upfront. The bad part is a lot of manufacturers are using variable pricing due to materials costing more. So you may agree to pay 120k but when it actually comes to close it can be 10-20k more.
      We went through three different offers on places that we were approved but once they actually had final pricing it was more than we could afford.

    Nice layout, but very cheaply constructed and too few windows for me. I really dislike the cheap paneling and finishes and the wood paneled kitchen backsplash isn't practical at all to keep clean. It's a good design for a tight lot, but not so nice for a lot with a view or back yard. I've seen another builder who has done a much nicer version of this same shotgun prow style home in a cabin style - can't remember which builder though unfortunately. It's one of the major ones. Love the floorplan, the bedrooms and bathrooms. I would go with stainless steel, butcher block, kitchen counters and textured wall covering to camouflage the seams on the walls. If it's going to be moved from time to time I might go with vinyl stick on rather than a underlay and channel floors. It's a pain when the loosen up and come apart. There are some nice ones. Just my own personal preferences. Nice home though!

    Timothy, just subscribed to your channel.
    Love this place it has so much room inside. Love the kitchen, and love how it has room for a freezer. Would love having the freezer inside the home instead of out in the storage building as I have mine. Then when you need meat, or ice cream from the freezer one has to go out in the pouring rain or freezing winter weather to get it!! 😗
    With the high ceilings in this place one could have a tall size Christmas tree like my Aunt had at her one house. She could have a 13 foot Christmas tree at that place, she stood on a ladder to decorate the top half of the tree.🙂
    Love this whole place the master bedroom is very, very nice. Like the porch, and siding on the outside.
    Thanks, for taking us on a tour of this place. Loved it !! Look forward to more of your videos. Have a great day!! 😇😇😇

    I noticed the strips in the beginning and wondered if they offer sheetrock walls... then the doors that have a gap at the bottom (another dead giveaway that it isn't very week made) however one of my biggest frustrations with mobile home are the windows that are so wide! The windows fit between the studs...it would cost more to fit/build a frame for normal size windows. I would rather have normal windows and fix the walls myself. Thanks for the tour...it is a pretty cool home.

    I wonder if you could special order this model to be put on an existing foundation - add a basement door where the furnace and water heater are and the have those installed in the basement. Leave the hookups for water and main drain to stub down into that basement as well - could work really well.

    I know I'm bucking a long established design, but why would I want my closet full of clothes to be right off a humid bathroom? And why would I want to walk through the bathroom to get to the closet?? And a toilet with no adjacent sink or water supply is for people who are content to not be as clean as they could be or should be.
