  • Welcome sweet soul to the Pheochromocytoma, Neuroendocrine tumor/cancer, Addison's disease, & other endocrine things. Personally, I believe it’s essential to have a baseline understanding of any diagnosis someone may have. One can argue it is even more critical to understand endocrine diagnoses. For the most part endocrinologists aren’t as knowledgeable as they should be. There are a number of rare diseases that fall under this umbrella. With so few knowledgeable physicians patients struggle to find someone willing to walk with them on the endocrine chronic illness journey. Sometimes the best case scenario is having a physician willing to learn with you.
A good physician is willing to consult a colleague, grab a textbook, or ask Dr Google. A willingness to admit they don’t know it all and willingness to learn is amazing & a sign of an awesome doctor.
A lot of people drop by Chronically Hopeful because I’ve had a Pheochromocytoma or Adrenal Insufficiency. There aren’t enough patient leaders/advocates in this space. Education SAVES lives!!! It’s an honor to share what I know, my journey, & my experience.
