Good overview. One thing I would add is that the real power of the pyramid principle is in the detail - and I accept you can't get into that in 6 minutes. As you work with the approach you will discover the importance of managing the 'question and answer' dialogue'. Put simply this is taking control of what questions are being raised in the minds of your audience rather than letting them all have different question - or perhaps not the ones you want to steer them to. If I said, "we should rapidly commence a diversification strategy" versus saying "a diversification strategy offers us the the best path forward" you instinctively ask different questions - "why so fast", versus "n what ways is it best". This then helps you drive the relevance of the more detailed level 1 insights. Takes some practice, but always think carefully about what questions come from the way you phrase something, and if you are then answering those questions
A useful concise presentation. One suggestion - the laptop obscuring the speaker (especially her hands) is somewhat disconcerting and unnecessary - like a lectern that hides part of a speaker on stage, yet is not used.
A video about the pyramid principle structured exactly contrary to its aim of teaching the pyramid approach. I agree that there is a lot of useful information and context provided but all bombarded at the beginning while the actual answer is at the end.
Wonderful! I have been planning to read the book since a long time, but haven't been able to start, this gave huge clarity to the context of what the book will detail in, and only motivates me further to go through it.

Thanks for adding that example - a great example of the power of Pyramid Principle nuance (and why fretting over word choice might actually matter!)
Probably the best explanation of Pyramid principe I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Great Approach. Thank you!!

Notes...

Yes, the irony.

This was wonderfully explained. I've read Minto's book (which is excellent), but this acts as a wonderful primer/ review. Well done!
Thanks, Tyler!
Very similar to argumentation in the humanities actually. It's always driven by the thesis; supporting points serve to 'prove' it.

Powerful explanation!
Good job
Thanks, Jan! I do keep notes on there but often I go off note!
thanks

The irony of this video is that she beats around the bush before explaining the principle. F
