I think the reason Hank attacked in the first episode is because the boombox guy hit him first, I think he wanted him to turn it down and was gonna ask him to do so, but then the boombox guy attacked and then Hank got pissed and punched, but then somebody else saw and thought that Hank randomly hit that guy, and then the chaos happened

So in order to fix that plot hole, we can theorize that back when Christoff was a trusted scientist, they might have let him test the fragment legally in MC1. Then, when he was done testing it on Hank, he might have brought it back. Only after all that happened, he rebelled and stole the fragment to kill Phobos. It's all just a theory but it makes sense to me

Ever since rewatching the entire series recently in anticipation of MC12, I was just obsessed with the details. The lore isn't important to the action, but it's definitely very cool and adds to the action a lot.
YES! Now this is a REAL madness lore video. Awesome work! That said, I do have a couple things to say 1: I don't think the marshmallow from MC3 is the same one from Marshmallow madness. No grunts are embedded in it, and many more marshmallows are seen in the background. 2: I don't think that agent in Club M was of the AAHW, but just a bodyguard who wanted to look the part. 3: Hank must have been a significant threat by the point of MPN arena mode, since not only is the AAHW present, but a note in the arena mode base says ‘Who is HANK?’
This makes me believe that one of the most improbable things possible is a giant marshmallow, as when Nevada was formed out of the improbable, there was a giant marshmallow, and when the improbability drive was activated, there were marshmallows.

I’ve always been of the opinion that the Arena Modes (at least PNC’s) and PNC 1.5 take place before MC1 personally. Aside from that, this is probably the best explanation of Madness Combat’s timeline and lore that I’ve seen. It explains the concepts and plot really well all without being too convoluted, which is probably the most important part of something like this. Excited for Part 2 and how PNC 1 and MPN are fit in!

zep is the new matpat also, one thing i want to note: the classic arena player can't be G04, because those experiments are how they discovered the ability to make G04s. although i guess it's possible that they're G04 after the first time you die, and seeing that they were successful in bringing them back, the nexus core realized it was viable to make more G04
Yeah I agree, I don't think classic arena protagonist was G04 especially with how early in the timeline his experiment occurs, I figured he was the first S-3LF the Nexus Core discovered in The Other Place, and was subsequently pulled out and used for their arena experiment.
We can conclude that Madness exists before ARENA MODE (YEAH ARENA MODE) because In" Fast Track" when you get the mission's trophy at tough difficult, the trophy' description says "Who is Hank", so Hank is a mercenary that was on the eyes of A.A.H.W which is the same that gives the Nexus Core a considerable amount of their technology and agents in general but the refused to stop him since his problems where only... well... mercenary stuff. So yeah Hank, caused a lot of problems before we even know him in the series, and those problems and death reports made the scientists start Project Nexus. Later on the Madness Series, the A.A.H.W uses their agents and the A.T.P for "the first time" in MPN1 because, just as Hank, Sanford and Deimos use their most advanced suits, the A.A.H.W does the same on MPN1 AND!, MPN2 And I know you are wondering why Hank has the suit of mc7 and Sanford and Deimos have the sames of 7.5, right?, Its simple!. The trio uses the most advanced suits because at the moment it was their most difficult mission, then when Hank gets killed by Sanford and Deimos, Doc punsishes Hank for doing what he did at the end of MPN2, so he removes Hank's suit because of what he did, and also Sanford and Deimos ones for the to not be recognized by the A.A.H.W. However, Hank obtains his MPN games suit in mc7 because the machine already registrated the version of him (remember that an improbability lightining hits him), and finally, well... the A.A.H.W already registrated Sanford and Deimos, so that's why they get their suits again at The Rift™ :) thx for your atenttion!!1!1!!1 -Doc (Also we can say that hank has that metal jew since he blew up in mc4, problably the jew is the most difficult thing to fix in the madness universe, or even a grunt's face... also Krinkles said that hank revives himself)

Here’s my theory about this series, and hear me out on this one. Madness combat is a video game. And I don't just mean like project nexus, I mean the series actually takes place in a video game. That would explain why Hank and other characters can die and revive repeatedly, why some laws of physics can be broken, how the auditor can upgrade the grunts through a patch, why the seemingly only food in Nevada is hotdogs, etc.
The only thing that really boggles my mind about the timeline, is the inclusion of AAHW in MPN’s Arena Mode, cause does this mean that Hank was causing all sorts of mayhem between MC1 n 2?
I honestly headcanon that for as long as Nevada has existed, Hank's been there to fuck shit up, just The Machine didn't take much notice till MC 1 where he starts beating the crap out of everyone, so the AAHW was formed to try and subdue this practically immortal Nevadean (AGAIN, THIS IS A HEADCANON BASED ON MY LIMTED KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORE, DON'T TAKE THIS AS FACT)
Yeah it should, I mean once Hank got a taste for violence there's no reason he'd stop, it's clearly something he's good at and he enjoys doing. Krinkels mentioned in a stream that Hank probably would have been an active threat even before the fall of Nexus City so it's not too farfetched to assume the agency would have been formed by the time he was becoming active.
Something I noticed that I dont think has been touched on much is that the relationship between the Maker and the Machine is similar to that of the the Monad and the Demiurge in gnostic theology. The Monad/Maker is a supreme being that can be considered the "creator" of the universe, but it is not necessarily tangible within said universe. It is instead the Demiurge/the Machine that "runs" the material universe, but it's operation is flawed, if not outright malicious, and it is creating imperfect copies of the original "Divinity" behind the universe, resulting in chaos and degradation, which the Monad/the Maker cannot intervene in. The Demiurge/the Machine itself is not truly aware of its own doings, it simply "is". Gnostic followers sought to permeate the physical plain of the Demiurge, in order to be touched by the true divinity of the Monad, much like how 2B and AMP have attempted to outplay the Machine, and seek the Maker, in order to try and end the Madness. I don't know if any of this was intentional, but at this point Madness Combat incorporating Esoteric Christianity wouldn't even be the weirdest element of the lore so IDK.

I wonder if the "Mandatus", is derived from the Gnostic concept of the Manda, achieving true understanding of from "whence we have come and whither we are going", and the inherent divinity/origins of the soul (S3LF?). Sounds awfully like what AMP achieves if they decide to "keep the loop going".
@@captaincancer7786You’re in good company - I proposed this same theory to Zep a while ago, who then sought confirmation from the devs, and though the devs said that the lore wasn’t inspired by Gnosticism, they did reveal that it was inspired by the World of Darkness TTRPG and the God Machine Chronicle specifically, which DID take heavy inspiration from Gnostic Christian theology. So Madness lore has a lot of Gnostic DNA, even if it’s almost completely unintentional.

It's still hard to understand the connection of MC and M:PN's in timeline. Also i wonder, if Krinkels back in period before MC 5 was thinking about the official games, more lore in MC, and more lore in MC Universe in total. I know that MC 4 was supposed to be the last part. One time when Krinkels was asked if Victor was going to appear in the main series Krank said that it would be a bad omen because that means the Machine got him. Does that mean that when the Machine contains/"corrects"/affects (or whatever it does in this situation) a character they somehow get tied to the series? I'm so confused on what Krinkly meant by that.
re watching this and this whole shpiel on generations of nevadians, i became pretty confident in few things. while AMP being confirmed to be generation 1, Hank most certainly is not generation 2 but also seems to be not 1 duo to having some restrictions on how powerful he can get. but here comes my main guess, if jebus was to be in MC1, he wouldn't be a simple gen 2 like deimos or sanford. jesus-like character there reminds me of sun, the one that hank kills in MC3 resulting in blackout of sky. the jesus from MC1 is a world building piece, just like sun, that was killed by hank which resulted in deterioration of the world's condition
Here is some important cosmology stuff, nevada has an outer space that begins to be difficult to understand. Nevada is apart of a much larger larger entity and nevada is a layered sphere. Apparently the madness combat universe has an infinite cosmos. Have a good night or day.

an interesting thing is that 9.5 shows us some people have multiple S3lfs. cause we see TWO hank S3lfs. antipathy and consternation hank. idk if it has to do with the fact tricky revived him so technically didn't bring his antipathy S3lf back. but its an interesting part
Hank does not have multiple s3lfs or even multiple versions of him. I'll elaborate in part 3 of my video when we get to the latter half of the cartoons
16:35 If this is supposed to take place near the start of the timeline, how is there already so much mass death? Further, if the death ramps up significantly over time past this point, would the Other Place not already burst? I suppose they got really good at soul recycling.
I think it's a bit like climate change. We've seen it decades in advance, but we already knew early on what the consequences would be. I don't necessarily think the "two soda cans problem" is an immediate threat more than it is a long term one.
Fair enough. Though through that hypothesis, their forecast ironically has almost certainly caused the problem to manifest much sooner than it would otherwise as if not for the constant battles with the AAHW, the Other Place would be filled much more slowly (as I imagine there would not be constant murder sprees if everyone kept to themselves).
@@Arcadia_warlic The AAHW use S3LFless G04 clones, so their deaths do not contribute to the two soda cans problem in any meaningful way, if memory serves. However, during the events of arena mode (M:PN), the arena player killed several hundreds of nevadeans at least once, and Jebus of course destroyed an entire city shortly after, causing who knows how many deaths. Oops.

Good video but I want to point out couple things krinkles stated Dr Hofnar was working on the p.i.d.( portable improbability drive) and an accident happened where the device was lodged into his head converting him into tricky the clown second I believe both krinkles and swain or one of them at least one of them did say madness 1.5 did took place before madness 1 it was just labeled that way because it's the second part of the game then the second game came later and the reason Hank went after the sheriff was because he walked up to Hank and 2B's house( they were roommates at the time) and stole his pie it was shown on madness interactive and the cutscene was confirmed to be cannon and for the side project that jebus and sheriff was working on was the improbability drive and there's three one with tricky the other with sheriff and last one with the auditor also in arena there is a dialog that states that the previous timeloops still exists and those are doomed to the end but whenever the next timeloop begins all data carries to the next one making Nevada last longer and expand this last one you might find interesting but krinkles stated that Hank is the oldest character and his origins are unknown even to the maker this leaves me to believe the machine might have something to do with him anyways if you read this I wish you a wonderful day
Huh. I had always assumed that everything that happens in Madness Combat actually only happens thanks to the AMP Enmeshing the Mandatus rather than being a result of the failure to do so. The Maker outright does say everything that comes after the Enmeshment will be far worse than the Before, and considering the events of Madness, the evidence is clear to see. I honestly reckon that, in line with how horrifically brutal the Madness universe is, the AMP’s perpetual cycle of reintegration and rebirth is the only thing that even allows a chance for 2Bdamned and SQ to try their hardest to save Nevada in Madness Combat, and all the eldritch horror and stuff that comes after is what the Maker was referring to, rather than an anomaly to the system.

Later on the Madness Series, the A.A.H.W uses their agents and the A.T.P for "the first time" in MPN1 because, just as Hank, Sanford and Deimos use their most advanced suits, the A.A.H.W does the same on MPN1 AND!, MPN2
And I know you are wondering why Hank has the suit of mc7 and Sanford and Deimos have the sames of 7.5, right?, Its simple!. The trio uses the most advanced suits because at the moment it was their most difficult mission, then when Hank gets killed by Sanford and Deimos, Doc punsishes Hank for doing what he did at the end of MPN2, so he removes Hank's suit because of what he did, and also Sanford and Deimos ones for the to not be recognized by the A.A.H.W. However, Hank obtains his MPN games suit in mc7 because the machine already registrated the version of him (remember that an improbability lightining hits him), and finally, well... the A.A.H.W already registrated Sanford and Deimos, so that's why they get their suits again at The Rift™

Here’s my theory about this series, and hear me out on this one.
Madness combat is a video game. And I don't just mean like project nexus, I mean the series actually takes place in a video game. That would explain why Hank and other characters can die and revive repeatedly, why some laws of physics can be broken, how the auditor can upgrade the grunts through a patch, why the seemingly only food in Nevada is hotdogs, etc.
This helped me focus on doing my homework for some reason

The only thing that really boggles my mind about the timeline, is the inclusion of AAHW in MPN’s Arena Mode, cause does this mean that Hank was causing all sorts of mayhem between MC1 n 2?
I honestly headcanon that for as long as Nevada has existed, Hank's been there to fuck shit up, just The Machine didn't take much notice till MC 1 where he starts beating the crap out of everyone, so the AAHW was formed to try and subdue this practically immortal Nevadean

Yeah it should, I mean once Hank got a taste for violence there's no reason he'd stop, it's clearly something he's good at and he enjoys doing. Krinkels mentioned in a stream that Hank probably would have been an active threat even before the fall of Nexus City so it's not too farfetched to assume the agency would have been formed by the time he was becoming active.

Something I noticed that I dont think has been touched on much is that the relationship between the Maker and the Machine is similar to that of the the Monad and the Demiurge in gnostic theology. The Monad/Maker is a supreme being that can be considered the "creator" of the universe, but it is not necessarily tangible within said universe. It is instead the Demiurge/the Machine that "runs" the material universe, but it's operation is flawed, if not outright malicious, and it is creating imperfect copies of the original "Divinity" behind the universe, resulting in chaos and degradation, which the Monad/the Maker cannot intervene in. The Demiurge/the Machine itself is not truly aware of its own doings, it simply "is". Gnostic followers sought to permeate the physical plain of the Demiurge, in order to be touched by the true divinity of the Monad, much like how 2B and AMP have attempted to outplay the Machine, and seek the Maker, in order to try and end the Madness.
I don't know if any of this was intentional, but at this point Madness Combat incorporating Esoteric Christianity wouldn't even be the weirdest element of the lore so IDK.

Now this has got me spiraling into learning more about Gnosticism to see what other parallels I can find.
I wonder if the "Mandatus", is derived from the Gnostic concept of the Manda, achieving true understanding of from "whence we have come and whither we are going", and the inherent divinity/origins of the soul (S3LF?). Sounds awfully like what AMP achieves if they decide to "keep the loop going".

@@captaincancer7786You’re in good company - I proposed this same theory to Zep a while ago, who then sought confirmation from the devs, and though the devs said that the lore wasn’t inspired by Gnosticism, they did reveal that it was inspired by the World of Darkness TTRPG and the God Machine Chronicle specifically, which DID take heavy inspiration from Gnostic Christian theology. So Madness lore has a lot of Gnostic DNA, even if it’s almost completely unintentional.

One time when Krinkels was asked if Victor was going to appear in the main series Krank said that it would be a bad omen because that means the Machine got him.
Does that mean that when the Machine contains/"corrects"/affects (or whatever it does in this situation) a character they somehow get tied to the series? I'm so confused on what Krinkly meant by that.
re watching this and this whole shpiel on generations of nevadians, i became pretty confident in few things.
while AMP being confirmed to be generation 1, Hank most certainly is not generation 2 but also seems to be not 1 duo to having some restrictions on how powerful he can get. but here comes my main guess, if jebus was to be in MC1, he wouldn't be a simple gen 2 like deimos or sanford. jesus-like character there reminds me of sun, the one that hank kills in MC3 resulting in blackout of sky. the jesus from MC1 is a world building piece, just like sun, that was killed by hank which resulted in deterioration of the world's condition
Here is some important cosmology stuff, nevada has an outer space that begins to be difficult to understand. Nevada is apart of a much larger larger entity and nevada is a layered sphere. Apparently the madness combat universe has an infinite cosmos. Have a good night or day.

an interesting thing is that 9.5 shows us some people have multiple S3lfs. cause we see TWO hank S3lfs. antipathy and consternation hank. idk if it has to do with the fact tricky revived him so technically didn't bring his antipathy S3lf back. but its an interesting part
Hank does not have multiple s3lfs or even multiple versions of him. I'll elaborate in part 3 of my video when we get to the latter half of the cartoons

16:35 If this is supposed to take place near the start of the timeline, how is there already so much mass death? Further, if the death ramps up significantly over time past this point, would the Other Place not already burst? I suppose they got really good at soul recycling.
I think it's a bit like climate change. We've seen it decades in advance, but we already knew early on what the consequences would be. I don't necessarily think the "two soda cans problem" is an immediate threat more than it is a long term one.
Fair enough. Though through that hypothesis, their forecast ironically has almost certainly caused the problem to manifest much sooner than it would otherwise as if not for the constant battles with the AAHW, the Other Place would be filled much more slowly (as I imagine there would not be constant murder sprees if everyone kept to themselves).
@@Arcadia_warlic The AAHW use S3LFless G04 clones, so their deaths do not contribute to the two soda cans problem in any meaningful way, if memory serves.
However, during the events of arena mode (M:PN), the arena player killed several hundreds of nevadeans at least once, and Jebus of course destroyed an entire city shortly after, causing who knows how many deaths. Oops.

Good video but I want to point out couple things krinkles stated Dr Hofnar was working on the p.i.d.( portable improbability drive) and an accident happened where the device was lodged into his head converting him into tricky the clown second I believe both krinkles and swain or one of them at least one of them did say madness 1.5 did took place before madness 1 it was just labeled that way because it's the second part of the game then the second game came later and the reason Hank went after the sheriff was because he walked up to Hank and 2B's house( they were roommates at the time) and stole his pie it was shown on madness interactive and the cutscene was confirmed to be cannon and for the side project that jebus and sheriff was working on was the improbability drive and there's three one with tricky the other with sheriff and last one with the auditor also in arena there is a dialog that states that the previous timeloops still exists and those are doomed to the end but whenever the next timeloop begins all data carries to the next one making Nevada last longer and expand this last one you might find interesting but krinkles stated that Hank is the oldest character and his origins are unknown even to the maker this leaves me to believe the machine might have something to do with him anyways if you read this I wish you a wonderful day
Huh. I had always assumed that everything that happens in Madness Combat actually only happens thanks to the AMP Enmeshing the Mandatus rather than being a result of the failure to do so.
The Maker outright does say everything that comes after the Enmeshment will be far worse than the Before, and considering the events of Madness, the evidence is clear to see.
I honestly reckon that, in line with how horrifically brutal the Madness universe is, the AMP’s perpetual cycle of reintegration and rebirth is the only thing that even allows a chance for 2Bdamned and SQ to try their hardest to save Nevada in Madness Combat, and all the eldritch horror and stuff that comes after is what the Maker was referring to, rather than an anomaly to the system.
You are correct in saying that Madness Combat happens assuming AMP was successful. I was later corrected on this by Swain, the lead writer on M:PN.
