I own a Model M as my "daily driver" but also have a wireless membrane keyboard for when i'm hooked up to my TV. Buckling Springs are just fine for games. I've put over 100 hours each on Warframe, Mass Effect, and Quake Live and had zero problems and haven't noticed any stat differences between membrane or buckling springs. But everyone is different I suppose.
Energy Monkey Yes, it is an IBM Model M, but the OEM differs for keyboards made past a certain date. Some are made by Lexmark, but sold under the IBM logo.
+stephanie naylor They are white, so probably more so than black, but nothing you cant wipe off with a bit of alcohol. They're also PBT keycaps, so they won't yellow over time.
For typing/working it's Model M all the way. I wouldn't think abotu using anything less. OTOH I find them slightly annoying for WASD FPS games. For those I have an $8 squishy keyboard leaning against my PC on the floor, I just lift it onto the table when I want to play something.
I have no trouble playing FPS games with my Unicomp keyboard.
