Just like monologuing, celebrating too early is yet another biggest weakness for movie villains. because just when the villain thinks that he's achieved victory and that nothing can stop him now he never stops to think and then realizes that there are still people that will stand in his way.

Every villain's selfish actions and sinfulness can often come at the expense of others and that meant it comes at the price and everyone has to accept the consequences of their actions and these villains have to learn the lesson the hard way

I thought for sure the Evil Queen in Snow White would get the top spot. She celebrates too early not once, but twice, first when she poisons Snow White only to have the dwarves return and later when she thinks she has loosed the boulder on the dwarves only to fall to her death. Such a great scene. Scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid.

Then there are also the ones that are given a chance to live, but refuse, and die. Here are some, for example, Frollo, when he fell over the edge and Quasi p had him by his robe, he could have let him go and drop him, but he didn’t he hung on to him. But Frollo how to get up on that gargoyle thing, and try to kill him in instead fell to his death after crumbled. Then there was tired and who warned play in that he was cutting all of mine to the point where it was wrapping around his neck, and he didn’t listen, and he died by hanging. Then, as was mentioned when the beast was going to kill Gaston, but let him go. Instead he came back to stab him and lost his balance and fell. There was also Kiara when she tried to help Zira, and offered her paw but batted it away, and felt to her death.

@@titanicdargon1912 it definitely does. 20 years later and that music STILL gives me goosebumps deluxe! I WILL NEVER FORGET how I felt when I was just 10 years old watching the film in theaters while visiting my grandparents in my “homestate” of California for the summer and the eagle was soaring over the sky and the river in the beginning. It was absolutely breathtaking seeing it on the big screen and with the beautiful music, it made me feel like I was flying alongside the eagle! The soundtrack they released for the film is pretty crummy! I do like the songs Bryan Adams sings, but they only released 4 “background” songs when there’s clearly a dozen more than that! They should release another one! But unfortunately because this film’s popularity “has gone down the toilet,” it’s highly unlikely they’ll do that. Then again, they did release the film on Blu-Ray in HD-remastered format quite a few years back, so who’s to say it’s not possible? The world’s full of so many unknowns

Hades probably didn’t even know what was required for Hercules to reclaim his status as a god. Zeus knew, but he knew that outright telling Hercules would only make him attempt to give up his life for another, knowing that he would not die would make the act pointless. The willingness to give his life for another must be a choice that he made regardless of the outcome.

Gloating monologues, underestimating their foes, incompetent henchmen, not confirming the kills, dismissing something they view as irrelevant when it turns out to make all the difference, failing to notice crucial details, assuming an enemy is going to die from a scenario involving a death trap or such... am I missing anything?

Would Treasure Planet count? The one when John Silver finally reached his ultimate goal of getting his hands on the legendary Loot of a Thousand Worlds that he had spend his entire life searching the whole galaxy for while risking losing some of his body parts in the process which made him become a cyborg, only to end up losing almost all of it thanks to Captain Flint rigging the titular planet to explode before he died had anyone ever managed to gain access to his massive hoard. Or the one when Scroop tried to murder Jim Hawkins for the second and last time on the RLS Legacy when Jim went back onboard to retrieve the map that had been left behind by Morph and when B.E.N. accidentally shut off the ship's gravity generator while trying to find the plug connecting to the ship's cannon, causing both Scroop and Jim to float up. When Jim saved himself from floating away forever into space by grabbing and holding onto the pirate flag, Scroop tried to kill Jim off by sawing off the rope that's tied to the flag while clinging onto the ship's mast like a spider would. And then Jim managed to outsmart him by making him jump towards the flag trapping him, which causes the rope to snap and he screams in doom as he's drifting off into space, never to be seen or heard from again. So it was Scroop's never-ending bloodlust that killed him.

Do not think Long John Silver is the villain in this piece. In the Hero's Journey taxonomy, he would be a changeling, initially a threshhold guardian, turning to an ally when the chips are down, in Han Solo fashion.

@@1992disney Of course, John Silver celebrated too early by taking advantage of his cyborg parts by using them to kill Captain Amelia after successfully kidnapping her so he could permanently take the baton for that particular position aboard the RLS Legacy!

@@1992disney I figure that was why Amelia somehow didn't notice Silver redeeming himself, as she just had to sit still in the jolly boat waiting to be rescued for the entire duration of the treasure hunt. I'm personally under the impression that right after Silver successfully kidnapped Amelia, he gave her a rather cliched "reason you suck speech" on how he easily perceived her as an oppressive tyrant! I also figured that threatening to kill Amelia in exchange for permanently taking her place as captain aboard the RLS Legacy might've been an ultimatum for Jim refusing to open the map after finally retrieving it from the ship.

They either celebrate too early and die, or reject the help that the protagonist offers them of one last chance but refuse it and die. Also I think Frollo and Ursula should have been I the honourable mentions. And last thing I always loved that expression Lady Termain makes at 13:43.
