SCHD may be the best dividend-focused fund out there. What do you think of it? Get my dividend portfolio that uses SCHD as its main component here: www.optimizedportfolio.com/m1-finance-dividend-pie/

SCHD has out performed S&P in the bull market and now the bear market. A solid core holding for dividend/income investors.

I've been considering buying ETFs/SCHD stocks for retirement, I have set asides $100k but somewhere along the line, I get cold feet maybe because I'm a rookie and have no idea what I'm doing, please I could really use some guideline

You can buy dividend ETFs if you don't want to get into individual stocks. My favorite is SCHD. you can use a coach

@@lorihomer1721 A coach sounds like a good idea, but how can I get a reliable one considering the nature of the market today?

Love the content, SCHD has to be one of the best dividend ETFs out there with a good dividend yield and strong price return. During times of volatility, going into broad based ETFs instead of individual stocks should definitely give investors peace of mind.

SCHD has pretty much matched the SP500 since it's inception. It did this with significantly less draw down during bear market. This performance is because if the large tilt towards value and qualify factors that are associated with schwabs selection process. This basket of 100 mature established companies typically have low PE's with excellent fundementals. For someone like me who would like to avoid bubbles like we see in big tech SCHD checks all the boxs. SCHD is Nearly all of the return with much less risk then the Sp500.

In my current state of mind, I go for total return broad market global without tilting much and appreciate that dividends happen to come as a side effect. I dropped my dividend tilt, which was VYM (Vanguard yield monster 👹) but if I get into dividend ETFs again, it’s gonna be SCHD.
My favorite dividend ETF: IEFA, iShares developed foreign. Not quite the same class as SCHD, but great TTM yield.

I want to sell all my VTI now and put it into SCHD. The only problem is that when the markets rebound, VTI is going to outperform SCHD. I am probably still 20 years from retirement but the older I get the more that I only care about the dividends.

Maybe, maybe not. In any case, dividends per se should never be the sole focus: www.optimizedportfolio.com/dividends/

Great video, thank you for the content. You cannot go wrong with broad market funds and capitalizing on a basket of stocks, especially during such market volatility!

Hello Kath, If you need additional income in retirement, and want to use dividend ETF's, I am invested in XYLD, RYLD, DIVO, and JEPI. My point of view: Highly recommended. Good luck...

@@kathm1965 No, QYLD has lost value since inception. RYLD and XYLD have not. These are better than QYLD in my opinion. Now, everything is down in the market right now, so I am still buying for dollar cost averaging.
