    I like that you use 100$ increments for monthly investments. Alot of people talk about investing 1000$ a month, in which alot of those who can't may get discouraged. Love the video bro

    I hold, add, and DRIP SCHD as my core. I turned 60 this past July, live on a fixed income and am still plowing income into SCHD.

    I'm happy I finally added to SCHD, in addition to VYM. Even though I own individual stocks as well, SCHD is a great tool for beginning investors who want to grow their dividend income without picking the stocks themselves. Thanks for covering it!

    Love SCHD! I find it interesting some people say it doesn't have enough holdings, but i'm sure most people who invest in individual stocks themselves won't take the time to research that many different companies and invest in them all. I think it's hard to go wrong with SCHD.

      You said it best Matt. I feel pretty well diversified in my portfolio of individual stocks with 23 different holdings haha. 100+ is more than enough for me

    I like schd good pick. I think a good comparison would of been to VIG. Schd Beats VIG in returns however a bit more volatility but both focus on dividend. I don’t think I ever looked at schd because I thought it was just on the Schwab platform. Great job I may also add this one in my Roth in my TD. I got 1 spot left and at 70 bucks… not bad

    I have only been looking at SCHD since watching another video a few weeks ago -- believe it was the "Nikki Dunn, CFP" channel. SCHD definitely has an edge on VOO and the other etf's that I was shopping. My daughter is off at school, now, and doesn't have time to pick stocks. So SCHD is looks like an easy solution for her mother and me to build up her Fidelity account.

    Although I am not an indexer, I overwhelmingly agree that SCHD would be a top choice. The ~100 stocks in there are quality companies with solid dividend track records. It would have been cool if my 401k allowed me to invest in SCHD.

    Question for you, Ryan, my Robin Hood Roth IRA says 2023 so as you know Tuesday, I’m gonna start investing into the Roth 2023 can I continue to contribute to the 2023 route that I started in 2024 in 2025 or do I have to keep putting something in each different year or can I just stay continuously dropping money into their Roth 2023 thanks bud

    Awesome video! Do you happen to know if these dividend raises are sustainable? Is earnings growth rate per share keeping up with the average yearly % dividend increases? If not, the generous increases can only go up so high until the dividend payout ratio exceeds what the stock holdings are growing at, however if they are growing in line this is an excellent fund! I would like to know if you know this! Thank you.

      Nothing is guaranteed, but since it's an ETF there's no payout ratio or EPS to reference. I'm not sure how they determine how much to increase the dividend by

    I closed my kids small bank account earning like 2¢ a quarter and moved it to my Robinhood account and purchased SCHD. Best move I made. Got 4 shares at about $53 about 2 years ago. Reinvest dividends for them and will give it to them when they are like 16 or 18. Up to like 4.3 shares now and the price increase was nice too

      I think so Thomas. You'll have to compare the top ten holdings between VYM and SCHD because there may be some cross over there. It's possible that you could get by with just one of those ETFs

    how exactly does this work, i googled schd chart and its called a dividend etf. but it doesn't have a listed dividend... i am interested in the mechanics. if i but schd and get a dividend does it show up in a seperate part of my balance sheet, or just part of profits ?

    Is there a reason why $JEPI is not your #1 choice? It’s mine but maybe you could check it out and see how it compares with SCHD or if JEPI is not as good for certain reasons? I’ve been buying it regularly. Thanks in advance, and I subbed!

      Thanks Anna! I have some JEPI in my portfolio, it's great for income. While it has a much higher yield than SCHD, I think that SCHD offers a better balance of income and share price appreciation. Plus, its strategy is more straight forward than JEPI's covered call strategy, which is something many investors might feel more comfortable with.

      @@rynewilliams Safe,But High yielding - 4% is usually my cutoff,7%/8% is my highest yielding. I use sense too and don't just go for a No-name 17% yielder

    ETF to consider is QYLD, RYLD, XYLD, JEPI and JEPQ for monthly divide income. VYMI AND VWO for quarterly divide income. My favorite ETF

    Hey I saw your livestream the other day and saw you check out some banks. Can you make a video taking a look at some Canadian Banks? They have a big 5. Royal Bank of Canada (RY), Toronto Dominion Bank(TD), Bank of Montreal(BMO), Bank of Novascotia(BNS), Canadian Bank of Imperial Commerce(CM). They all pay high and steady dividends, and are large companies in canada. I currently own BAC and will continue to add more, but may add another bank. Looking at BMO, RY, and Capital One (COF)

    I own SCHD along with O, DLR, and WPC to balance out for real estate. M
    SCHD appears to have done well due to the healthcare stocks holding up during this downturn , this is a risk IMO if we see this sector correct in the near future

    A lot of comments about the low number of holdings, but the way I see it, if you have too many, you may be pulling in companies that don't meet your criteria. The more you add, the lower the quality of stock.

      @@rynewilliams enormous amounts of debt and slowing growth in a slowing sector (telecomunications) aren't things I'm a fan of. But I don't know too much about it to make a great estimation of its business. But it is a con to me in buying schd; I wish it had less exposure to this company.

      @@rynewilliams 11. AAPL, ALLY, BAC, GIS, GM, HBAN, HPQ, INTC, KHC, KO, PFE. Around 26,000 give or take in each of their accounts. BAC, GM, KHC largest 3 positions with INTC and ALLY close behind. The accounts held in Ally. our oldest is 10 and youngest 8.
      Time is the friend of the dividend growth investor.

      We use VUSA in europe and in the US its VOO (S&P)

    SCHD's concern is the top 10 make up 40% of it's holdings (VOO/DGRO are around 27/25%), more so than only 100 stocks. At 40% you better love the top 10, and I do.

      I believe they review it quarterly and make changes to the holdings annually if they feel the need to (or something similar to that). So if those top 10 holdings aren't performing so well, they can be changed if needed. That's one of the reasons I plan to hold it indefinitely, I know people more knowledgeable than myself are managing things keeping it profitable.

      Not necessarily. The 4% rule refers to the rate at which you sell assets upon retirement to live off of, and is detached from dividend income

      @@rynewilliams A crowded trade is when a stock or ETF becomes popular among investors and large numbers of people rush in to buy it based on that popularity. This often leads to bubbles and irrational behavior. This may not be a big deal until things turn negative and everyone rushes to sell their shares. This can lead to violent downswings.
      I am not saying this ETF is bad. It actually looks pretty good to me. But the value proposition can become compromised if too many people buy it.

    I think at $70 this ETF is a Steal based on its Holdings , i was able to add an extra 197 Shares yesterday at $69.19 to my Portfolio and i am pretty sure by Summer will be at $80.00

    Too bad that SCHD is not available in Germany. Always read and heard about it but not being able to invest is really hard. I chose the Fidelity US Quality Income ETF as my alternative.

      It depends, but SCHD offers some pretty nice dividend growth. SCHD’s dividend has grown by nearly 14% on average every year for the last 5 years, and the ETF has a 10 year dividend growth history
