I am back after about 2 months and I now have full mobility and my muscles on my arms/shoulders are almost at 100% after breaking my collarbone. My collarbone is fully healed! Been training again since 2 weeks ago!
please do not mislead the public. what sort of rehab a patient needs depends on the serverity of the fracture. usually any movement within 4 weeks is discouraged as the bone isnt completely healed and reinjury could be a risk. and the sling you recommended shouldnt be used at all! the idea of a sling is to support the elbow so the collar bone can realign! not allow it to dangle like that. you are teaching people things that are totally wrong and unfounded. please be more responsible.
My collarbone got shattered into five pieces...and my wrist....but I'm three months post surgery, two titanium plates and 18 screws later, I'm back with full range of motion and lifting light weights (less than 10lbs)to get the muscles back. This guys method is misleading due to bones don't fuze that quickly. Stretching daily helped more than anything, along with applying heat on it every night. Oh and I drink a lot of milk and take vitamin c and iron too. The first three weeks were just brutal though. He is talking about swimming after 4 weeks....with a busted ass collarbone and pain meds maybe lol
Hey There Brappin, i avoided surgery and it seems the severity of your break was a lot more serious. I had no surgery, no plates and no screws, once i began to regain some movement then light rehabilitation was commenced. I cannot comment on recovery post surgery as i try to avoid surgery at all costs and best to ask your surgeon the recovery length and process.
In from Dr. Stone of the Stone Clinic, each break is different and some heal quicker than others.... "If you were following the Tour de France this year, you will no doubt remember that the nastiest crash of the race involved a Frenchman, Jean-Christophe Peraud. He broke his collarbone in a morning time trial, yet continued to race that day only to skid and crash at 50 mph, landing on his same shoulder. Not surprisingly, this took him out of the race. A midshaft collarbone fracture is a common injury, accounting for 5 percent of all fractures and representing 35 to 45 percent of all shoulder girdle injuries. The injury happens most often when you fall and land with your arms outstretched, or in the case of cycling or skiing, when you fall and land on your shoulder. The force of the fall is transmitted up the arm or through the shoulder to the clavicle, which is one of the body's most vulnerable bones. You can actually see and feel it since it's not covered in fat and muscle like the rest of our bones. While elite cyclists, with prize money and international rankings at stake, get straight back onto their bikes with broken clavicles, the rest of us tend to be more sensible in our approach to healing. My patient had the misfortune of breaking her collarbone particularly badly. She had fallen headfirst over her handlebars and her right clavicle was fractured in three places. She didn't need an X-ray to know it was broken. She could look in the mirror and see a big bump sticking out. She had two questions for me: "Can you get rid of that bump?" and "When can I get back on my bike?" I told her the clavicle is challenging to repair since we cannot place it in a cast during the healing process. In a less serious fracture, where the bones don't overlap (less than 1.5 centimeters), the collarbone will usually heal well by itself. We treat those fractures with sling support and gentle range-of-motion exercises. However, if we left her displaced clavicle to heal this way, she would have a bumpy, shorter shoulder and most likely permanent shoulder weakness. Pointing at her X-rays, I explained that we'd need to surgically repair the clavicle and get it back out to full length. I saw her face fall. I guessed, correctly, that she had visions of open surgery with metal plates and screws and a huge scar the length of her collarbone (she told me that cyclist friends of hers have had this done). Thankfully, I could reassure her that surgery is improving all the time and there is now a way to do this without using these plates and screws."
yes most definately, and not just any doctor....lets be more specific as a gp wouldnt have a clue when you can start training or rehab again but a sports doctor will have a greater insight and yes it may take longer if surgery was required.......try and stay away from the surgery option if you can folks....
Do i have to keep the arm still to the bone to heal? I broke my left clavicule 4 weeks ago and i've been using the figure of 8 since. Now i think the bones are on the right position and have no much pain but i still feel them moving. Do i have to really have to keep my arm immobile so the bones can fuse or they will fuse anyway?
ice is great....even during the rehab, after you complete a rehab/strengthening session the area will be sore and icing is great to do after each sessions to assist in the recovery!
Yeah, if you have a minor crack in your clavicle, that simple sling might be okay. But when your clavicle completely breaks (especially in more than one place), and your whole arm droops because there is no bone structure holding it up, it'll be 3-5 WEEKS before the broken ends even begin to stay attached to each other. All these dudes with hairline fractures talking about being back on a bike or running at 3-4 weeks or being back to work the next day...give me a break. Your injury hardly even counts as a break. I'd call it a boo-boo or an owee. I'm 13 days into a REAL broken clavicle, and the broken ends of the bone are just starting to try to stick together. I get out of bed or off the couch, and they tear apart. I'm wearing a figure 8 brace AND a full sling that goes around the waist and over the shoulder all day, every day. I'm taking calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, Omega 3, BCAAs and close to 200 grams of protein every day. I cut out all the painkillers except acetaminophen (taken rarely) so as to not interfere with bone repair. Up until my motorcycle accident I did weight training 4-5 days a week, and I don't smoke, drink, use drugs or anything that would interfere with recovery. The hospital staff were amazed I walked into the emergency room after wrecking my bike into a guard rail going 50 mph, especially when they started looking at the other injuries that needed 37 stitches in my leg and face. For all you people feeling discouraged by videos like this because you have a real clavicle beak, just know that if you diligently isolate the shoulders (yes, both) and do everything possible to keep the broken bone ends lined up as much as possible, take supplements, get plenty of protein and water, stay off the anti-inflammatory painkillers, and don't smoke or drink, you can expect to be working on stretching and mobility between 5 and 8 weeks post injury. Depending on your individual case, you MIGHT be able to begin mild resistance training after 8 weeks, but maybe as late as 12 weeks.
I agree. I had surgery on mine a month ago with a plate and screws and I still have a weight restriction of 20 pounds for another month. I've broken it twice and had to heal it naturally the first time and that took eight weeks naturally to heal enough for me to start rehab. This guys shoulder isn't even droopy.
Nathaniel Hood - thank you for this post. My kid is 13 and broke his clavicle, coming off a bike hard about 4 weeks ago. No surgery but he's in a still in a sling and feeling good. Kid is anxious to get back to football (flag and tackle) and (perhaps) wrestling but I might sit him out of everything until he gets back in shape.
I agree with this. I broke my Collar bone properly back in April. Lots of pain, I watched this video and questioned how this guy could be getting so much movement. It wasn't until 10 weeks I could get movement and it was around 12 weeks till I was well on my way into rehab. I recall 2-3 weeks into the healing process I was in the shops picking up an anniversary gift for my partner, I fumbled the item and my reflex went to catch it with my broken side (which was in a sling), the profanity that came out of my mouth in a packed shop caused me a lot of embarrassment; I looked at the ground, left the item there and just walked out. On the weekend, I reinjured the area, with a new fracture through the healing site. Initially, i thought it could have been ligament damage, as the pain wasn't as severe and I had some good movement, I got it checked. Confirmed fracture. It was only sore for the first night and I can get a full range of movement with my arm if I push it (which I won't because it's a break and I want it to heal). This video is now a good example of the things I could do, however, I think I'll wait until the doctor gives me clearance to do these movements and confirms the healing process is moving along as expected.
Does anyone know if sleeping on your side is bad for the healing process ? Never been good at sleeping on my back but I'll do it if sleeping on my good side is harmful
Shattered my collar bone in 4 places had surgery twice one to put in plate the other to remove. Pain will never go away. If some 1 accidentally his my scar mark it hurts real bad. No more playing contact sports. But on the other hand I can deadlift 220kg so my movement I's good but my injury side is real sensitive
I broke my collar bone in 2 pieces and I wear some kind of thing to keep my back straight, i already feel that it's healing, even tho I broke it one week ago, but I am curious how much it takes to heal completly because I want to start going to the gym again
Just got surgery on my left clavicle. A plate and 9 screws. Recovery will be a bit different for me since I bodybuild and powerlift. Hopefully I make a 100% recovery
I had my surgery on October 20th, this year. I ended up with a titanium plate and 10 screws. The hardest part so far has been not getting back into the gym. Have you talked with anyone about how long it'll take before your at 100% again? I'm paranoid about reinjuring it, and I worry I'm not going to be able to lift again comfortably. But I'm going stir crazy not being able to DO anything. :/
VICTORV1990 11 weeks (10.9-2014) after my surgery I started lifting again (I have got a titanium plate and 7 screws) Obviously very light but the feeling when you actually can lift something is goooood.. I think 4-6 months is a pretty good estimate, however you should lift as heavy as possible with your other arm. I promise, it will speed up the healing AND reduce muscle atrophy in the arm that is injured.. My biggest concern is benching.. Order a slingshot to help me with the range of motion and the rehabilitation..
Alex Winberg I'm still in the process of physical therapy. I still can't lift my arm all the way up yet but it's getting there. For now I am still training legs as much as I can obviously no squats so I do leg press instead but thanks for the info bro
Dayum. I honestly started incorporating yoga and body weight exercises. Its now officially 10 weeks post-op for me and I have ~95% of my ROM back. I noticed at week 4/5 I was starting to have problems with my back and pecs,... trying to baby that side was good for the healing initially, but caused a lot of compensation issues. I've been too scared to try and bench anything, but I can officially do push ups without too much discomfort. Sometimes it feels a bit pinchy towards the ends of where the plate is. I just back off when that happens and start stretching.
I broke mine two years ago and it wasn't bad the first day,but the next day I was napping from the medicine on my couch and jumped in my sleep and separated the break further which was extremely painful and required surgery. It still gets sore sometimes so I'm gonna try this though to see if it helps.
If you dont sort out and do proper gradual rehab you may be left with a limited range on that side....you can start non contact training 2-4weeks after injury depending on the severity....if you perform lots of rehab you should be able to get the shoulder back to the strength it had before it occurred
thanks for all the views everyone......please remember i had 2x xrays on this break and it was broken in position which certainly speed up the recovery but i also recommend what i said, the icing, the high protein diet, the rest, the sleeping position, the bandage......
I fell from second floor of an apartment complex well it got pushed off and I lift weights every day I was just wondering how long till I can do bench press
Broke my collarbone Mar. 18th 2019 doing dirt jumps at my local bike park. Tried to tuck and roll but ended up slamming into my collarbone and it snapped like a twig. Completely fractured. Doctor recommended surgery. Went into surgery Mar 28th, 2019. The first two-three days after the surgery was the worst, incredible pain. Sitting, standing, sleeping, laying down or pretty much any movement makes matters worse. Pain meds helped to mitigate the pain. 3 days after (for me) I had very little pain and stopped taking meds. 1st week I wore a sling as I desperately needed it. Also after the first week, I asked my doctor to remove the larger bandage but still not able to take full showers yet. Second-week sling gone still little range of motion, the pain was more manageable if I feel pain at all, I would describe it as uncomfortable. Follow up appointment two weeks after surgery and doctor cleared me for physical therapy 2 times a week for a month and I'm able to take full showers (no baths or jacuzzi) but still, no load bearing weight. I try to stretch a little bit every day and that helps. I hope to be back on my mountain bike in a little over a month. I don't wanna rush out there without giving it enough time to heal as I've done with other minor injuries. With the surgery option, you will heal very quickly but you may or may not have to have surgery to remove plated bone in the future. I may not sure yet. My diet for the healing process consists of mangos, apples, tangerines, loads of kale, leafy greens fish and chicken. Basically, I'm trying to give my body the best chance of recovering quickly. I think the down time also makes your mind race about all the "what if's and how long's" during recovery. I kept thinking, what if I lose the ability to ride on the same skill level prior to injury? How long will I be off my bike? How long before I can go back to work? Will my bone heal properly? Will I have residual pain? Am I more susceptible to damaging the same area if plated in the future? The questions were endless. Best advice I can give anyone is eat well, sleep a lot and do not use your arm if you can prevent it and more than anything LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR!! Good luck with your injuries everyone.
Well I’m on my third week of recovery now, again, I went to a dirt jump bike park called bulltrack, and broke my collarbone, hit my head hard and got swelling around my knee for some reason still after 3 weeks which is concerning, but my main issue is the questions, I’m not really wearing my sling being at 3 weeks now and I slipped on my right leg on a walk a little and it shuddered my shoulder quite a bit and my collarbone fracture area aches all the time now and it didn’t in the first place, I’m not sure what’s happened but I want to ride my dirt jump bike so badly it was the first day since I bought it and I’ve only been able to ride it 5 minutes :( how was your recovery? I think I need to be more harsh on myself for restricting my arm, I’m using it for daily life and stuff
Someone help me please! Got a plate on my collarbone 2 years ago. Im just scared what will happen if i fall and brake the bone again?! Will the plate snap and pierce through my skin? Sounds fucking scary and im afraid to do any activites and hobbies.
That's got to be a very minor break if you have that much motion without blinding pain after only 10 days. Just want to warn those who, like me, have a much more severe break - you won't be able to even put on the sling without blinding pain for at least 3 full weeks - this video should be labeled more accurately for a hairline clavicle break...
I had a complete seperation in the middle third of my clavicle 10 days ago and I have no pain putting on my figure 8 brace or a sling. I don't have quite the ROM that he does without pain but close. Maybe it depends on how good the reset is and how soon after injury. Mine was set in place about an hour after injury and the two bone segments are just slightly overlapping now.
I snapped my collar bone in 2 places and small fracture of same side wrist after being launched off bicycle, little movement of clavicle bone on initial xray- shoulder totally dropped, no surgery. I had pain for 2 days at most, then it simply went away. Stopped wearing sling in bed after 7 days (went back to hospital after 8 days and they didn't even xray it as I was appearing to them to be healing well...), after 7 days I could lift a cup of coffee to my mouth, with some effort. 10 days in I could walk arm up wall to full extension, no pain. I was very fit at time of accident and believe this is what enables faster recovery. Also eating well amdd sleeping well. I am 41 and cycle every day and weight lift regular. Everyone is different but health at the time is, I believe key to rehabilitation.
Same! I had mine broken 5 days ago it hurts im not getting surgery please can you tell me did it just go back to normal like it was before or u still feel pain? Pleaseee anybody im kinda worried
I broke the outer tip of my left clavicle and disrupted the ac joint coming off my dirtbike. Had a hook plate put in 2 days ago, no lifting anything with that arm for 6 weeks apparently!
,Thanx for your reply and your kindness helping others. It is now 2.5 weeks since I broke my collarbone and the shoulder uhurts.much less there no swimming poountry side. Are they any other exercises I can do to help my shoulder heal?thanx
thanks for the info ~ after a week my arm was sore from keeping in the sling = I had to stretch my arm down my side ,o that felt so good _ since then I haven't wore that thing after that even tho I should have probably _ yes sleep on the back with a pillow under your arm ~ I just wrecked my motorcycle and got power slammed on the asphalt and broke my big toe, collar bone and cracked ribs try sneezing with that ! or making a sudden move or trip down the hall because of a gate
I crashed a motorcycle. and found out when I finally went to the doc 3 days later. it was broke kinda bad. had the figure 8 sling and the one arm sling. months and months later still not fused. so after 3 years and still not fused or completely joined. I've been going to the gym 6 days a week for the past 6 months. I bench 250 lbs. and am able to do 5 sets of 12 wide arm pull ups with a 25 lb plate around my waist. after I started to gym a few weeks into it my shoulder feels strong and great with no pain. but I do have a little catch or hangup in my shoulder every once in a blue moon. I'm also 35 years old. Has anyone else know anyone that has this problem but doesn't slow them down?
good on you m8!! CAPT AMERICA 'S got some competition I just broke mine recently during a friendly game of football [which became a little less friendly as I went along !! ] but yes I heard a audible snap as I went down for a roll and making my way along albeit at a snail's pace by my standards but doing my best and of course following up with physio !! be well and enjoy the day!!
did mine on sunday falling on my arm and im experiencing stiffness just below my neck. I want to start climbing again soon but my collar bone looks really fucked so idk how quick ill be able to start again
i broke my collarbone 9 months ago.is it normal to have a little bump on the clavicle area?(i have complete fracture).will the bump dissappear because my doctor said it will
The more time to heal the better but its always good to get an xray and see if the break is in the right position, sometimes surgery can be avoided if the break isn't too bad and the alignment is pretty good, i used a figure 8 strap to help me getting the clavicle into the best possible position
question. my daughter has broken her Clavicle for the second time. She was just released by her Ortho to return to soccer with contact. Is there an exercise you would recommend to make it stronger. To prevent from happening again?
Hello there.....yes i would buy some reistsance bands and try and build the surrounding muscles of the shoulder. Over time the area broken bone once healed should be stronger than before but increasing the strength of the muscles surrounding the joint will help alot
my friend how are you after a month with this problem??i ask you because im soccer player too and i want to know when i ll come back to the fields!!! i happend this 3 days before!
hi bro... its month and 1 week already since i broke my collar bone.. and i feel better each week past...i just have a little question.. are your shoulder still in the same length?? because i think.. my left shoulder(broken)..is shorter than my right shoulder... thanks for your ansuwer...
What are your thoughts on a sling vs a figure 8 brace? I've heard mixed opinions. I fractured mine 10 days ago and have been wearing a figure 8 brace but it's so uncomfortable
My collarbone snapped about 1 - 2 months ago, I am no gettin back into sports what's the best way for me to do exercise with it like what sports shall I do
If anyone can help answer my question is greatly appreciate it :D. I just shattered my collarbone in 5 pieces and am getting surgery in a couple days with the titanium plate and screws. About how long will it take before i can start mabye training with weights again? Even if they're light weights and I do high reps? Ive been big into lifting in this past couple years and have gained over 25 pounds of muscle and am terrified of being set back far :/
It took me three months to get back to full range of motion and lifting light weight. I shattered my wrist along with my collarbone so you might get there faster. I got two plates and 18 screws......bike life.
i fractured my collarbone about 14 days ago when i was wrestling, there's a bump but i can generally do everything with my left arm. When do you think I can start to wrestle again?
How are you feeling man? I just fractured my Collarbone 2 days ago also due to Wrestling im planing on doing at least Football again in June and joining Wresting again next season. But yeah how does it feel?
Abel Ochoa Well, my left arm is a little weaker and has a shorter range of motion now...but it could be a lot worse. I can do everything with it...no pain at all.
I broke my collar bone (high impact comminuted fracture) had surgery to insert a titanium plate fixation device last November, but unfortunately it still did not heal properly and the fixation device eventually fatigued and broke again.. Had second surgery in May, but as prescribed by my doctor am still not able to do any exercises using that arm... (I do not smoke, no diabetes and have always been in good shape). My point is that you need to check with your doctor as to when you can rehab.
broke mine 8 weeks ago while cycling. x-ray next friday hopefully will give me go-ahead to start again. some pain still felt while stretching shoulder muscle. takes 8 to 12 weeks according to my doctor to recover. Usually, bones take 12 months to completely heal, and will snap again under extreme conditions
Mine should take four weeks, but for some, it can go to eight weeks - it just depends on the severity. Clavicles heal up very normal, and by eight weeks, you should be fine to hop on a bike.
I broke mine 3 weeks ago, rugby. I went in to the hospital they said it was a dislocated shoulder, went back on Friday "We checked the X-ray again, it's a broken collarbone" well done you fucking retards, my areas hospital is terrible
man, i broke my collarbone 3 days ago and is my first time! Im a soccer player, i play semi-pro , My club doesnt want to pay my recuperation because i broke it riding bike. And the questions i have are : will that affect me later? like playing soccer or lifting? when i can start trainning again? Do muscular shape changes? thanks!
i met with an accident in december and till now my collar bone is not in right place. Can anyone guide me in this? I feel pain these days, if i sit in chair for long time or walk. It's paining and i am looking for some exercises, coz doctors in my place are saying that it wont heal.
thanx for the video, broke my collarbone last week, no operation needed but i still have swelling that causes pain, i didn't use ice on the first days like i supposed to, what can i do reduce the swelling now? i've heard that using ice is good just when start using on the first day and forward like you did....please help...
Dang man, I think I broke my collarbone because I can see a bump and i can barley lift it over my head. Im 13 and i don't want to get surgery already! Any advice
hi bro i have broken my collar bone 5 years ago, it was healed without surgery. Now i would like to join gym, is it possible to do exercises in gym normal like everybody does
This is very misleading. I broke my collar bone . Was X Rayed.2nd appt for x ray wks later. 3rd appt 5wks later. Arm supported with a sling. Not just collar and cuff. advised to exercise lower part of arm and hand. Hoping I dont need surgery. This was caused due to fall from my horse. . I never want to go through this again :) nightmare !
For me stretching was the only thing that really helped. If you don't move your arm everything gets stiff and make the problem that much worse. Thats my experience anyway and I shattered mine.
Back in February I stood up and punched down on atop a metal-framed desk... Honestly I was drunk at the time and the pain didn't sink in till the next day. Right off I went to my local ER complaining of pain in my shoulder/back of shoulder and extreme pain in my rib cage. I could barely lift my foot to walk and each time I did it felt as if something was stabbing me all the way through to the core of my head to even pain down my leg and foot. Five months later it was discovered in addition to a cervical injury nearly clipping my spinal cord and complete curve of my spine diagnosed as "cervical spondylosis" (Which No- though I was born with arthritis my spine didn't just curve over time I hit a hard surface with arthritis already present in my body including my neck.. ) DIGRESSING 5mons later- that my collarbone needed to be popped back in and soon after that when the pain still wasn't gone that my T12 of my rib cage needed to be realigned and essentially popped back in... That was yesterday and for the first time since February of this year I was able to sleep last night and woke this morning with the most minimalist amount of pain (def in comparison) Long story short I can now stand though my blood pressure is still high still feel out of breath if I move around because of the pain I guess dizzy with the same throbbing headache the same burn in the back of my shoulder and a deep ache in my spine, but Today for the first time since it happened the worst is truly gone and I can concentrate on properly healing what's already set in as extreme muscle tension in my right scapula (the back of your shoulder) and my shoulder itself only hurts if I poke it which I don't and I'm extremely relieved. You wouldn't think it would happen in America today but of the 3-4 times I sought ER treatment for my shoulder my rib cage etc I was turned away under "pre-existing" condition and without scan to my thoracic or cervical injury was sent out the door each time with a rx for steroids, muscle relaxers, nausea meds. I was given the same useless sling and told to see a specialist- which I did... all the while no proper instruction how to heal HOW TO SLEEP-- why? I admit through hardship I am medically uninsured and despite the notion of the right to human treatment to ensure quality of life American hospitals are a bureaucracy not a charity. Thank you for taking the time to explain some important tips because sleeping has been the worst- this entire time I've had to sacrifice the ball of my shoulder sleeping on my stomach with my arm down- I couldn't lay on my back- now that my rib cage isn't an issue I'll try it as you instructed-- thank you. God bless!!
Aha breaking my collorbone in half, it didnt hurt i only felt weakness, then when i felt pain i laughed away, then i started feeling pain that was very annoying then i had to go to the hospital, then they gave me a brace, then i couldnt stand the pinching from the brace then i took it off, then i decieded to break my collorbone again .-. it's cause my mom left me alone in the streets, i was lost for 2 days then i tryed breaking my collor bone then i end up healing it. i was lost and sad,mad
I had mine broken 5 days ago can someone tell me if it goes back to normal like it was before or does it still hurts? Please any advice would be helpful
Who is watching after they have broken their collar-bone?
Yup! I fucking got suplexed and broke mine!
I am back after about 2 months and I now have full mobility and my muscles on my arms/shoulders are almost at 100% after breaking my collarbone. My collarbone is fully healed!
Been training again since 2 weeks ago!
***** I missed all my major basketball matches, don't be happy for me!
GUNSFOREVER1 I have started played competitive matches now.
Inesh Khanal That's great to hear! Best of luck in your sport!
please do not mislead the public. what sort of rehab a patient needs depends on the serverity of the fracture. usually any movement within 4 weeks is discouraged as the bone isnt completely healed and reinjury could be a risk. and the sling you recommended shouldnt be used at all! the idea of a sling is to support the elbow so the collar bone can realign! not allow it to dangle like that. you are teaching people things that are totally wrong and unfounded. please be more responsible.
I broke my collar bone 5 days ago and got it fixed in place surgically. So far my rehab consists of driving a car and repairing my crashed enduro.
😂😂
She had two questions for me: "Can you get rid of that bump?" and "When can I get back on my bike?"
I told her the clavicle is challenging to repair since we cannot place it in a cast during the healing process.
Whats the new way with out plates and screws?
yes most definately, and not just any doctor....lets be more specific as a gp wouldnt have a clue when you can start training or rehab again but a sports doctor will have a greater insight and yes it may take longer if surgery was required.......try and stay away from the surgery option if you can folks....
I thought surgery will prevent malunion?
Haggard Racing did your shoulder function better after the plate than it did with natural healing?
This comment gave me a courage to heal fast. And not wondering what will happen next. Just stay positive and focus on healing your self.
Does anyone know if sleeping on your side is bad for the healing process ? Never been good at sleeping on my back but I'll do it if sleeping on my good side is harmful
Best to try sleep on your back and avoid movement as much as possible at night. Sometimes id sleep in a sleeping bag to stop me from rolling...
Is it okay to work out in the gym while you're collarbone is broken but there is no pain .
alyschiamc I feel the same way.... my doctor told me no heavy lifting for 4-6months
Thankyou, i broke mine Monday on my Mountain bike, so painful, cant wait till it heals!
Thanks a lot, I'm going through this right now n have surgery in a day
I broke my right clavicle 7 days ago. Thanks for this advice.
thanks for all the views everyone......please remember i had 2x xrays on this break and it was broken in position which certainly speed up the recovery but i also recommend what i said, the icing, the high protein diet, the rest, the sleeping position, the bandage......
Are you able to lift weight ??
I agree mine got broken from the shoulder im 19 days from breaking it and no way in hell am I moving my arm like him.
I broke mine in half 2 days ago and I can put on a shirt and a sling with ease what r u takin about
Good for you. Want a cookie?
Everyone is different but health at the time is, I believe key to rehabilitation.
im watching after coming off motorbike and breaking my collar bone
Chris Mcginty me too. couldn't have surgery right away because of the road rash
Chris Mcginty same here dude from Pakiso
Same
,Thanx for your reply and your kindness helping others. It is now 2.5 weeks since I broke my collarbone and the shoulder uhurts.much less there no swimming poountry side. Are they any other exercises I can do to help my shoulder heal?thanx
very good to wear both.......you should be trying to avoid movement and keep area as still as possible
thanks for the info ~ after a week my arm was sore from keeping in the sling = I had to stretch my arm down my side ,o that felt so good _ since then I haven't wore that thing after that even tho I should have probably _ yes sleep on the back with a pillow under your arm ~ I just wrecked my motorcycle and got power slammed on the asphalt and broke my big toe, collar bone and cracked ribs try sneezing with that ! or making a sudden move or trip down the hall because of a gate
Me to I think I think I blew a gasket I couldn't breath when I walk afterwords.it hurt getting out chair and bed don't think half to get surgery
This is also good for injured collar bones? ( not broken, just got pain from working out at the gym I think ...)
did mine on sunday falling on my arm and im experiencing stiffness just below my neck. I want to start climbing again soon but my collar bone looks really fucked so idk how quick ill be able to start again
Did your shoulder lower sort of?
yeh its still messed up no pain or anything though so its all good
+sovokai Harvey yeah my left shoulder dropped down by a couple inches, healing quite well at the moment
i broke my collarbone 9 months ago.is it normal to have a little bump on the clavicle area?(i have complete fracture).will the bump dissappear because my doctor said it will
There is been 3 weeks and 4 days still looks as same as the day it broked.. Should i be worried or it will take more time??
The audio is a bit low, mind pumping it up?
Good sleeping advice. I'm gonna try that
my friend how are you after a month with this problem??i ask you because im soccer player too and i want to know when i ll come back to the fields!!! i happend this 3 days before!
i have broken mine and i dont know if i should operate or not.. help
Zack Ryder Me too :(
+-Ábdi- i doctor said i don't need surgery so m good its my 10th day no pain now..
Zack Ryder The doctor the same thing. It's my 3rd week. No pain too
-Ábdi- i did you x ray? I did and nothing change after 2 weeks..
What's X Ray?
can heel clavicle fracture without surgery..and can i go gym again. .
What type of break did you have?
hi bro... its month and 1 week already since i broke my collar bone.. and i feel better each week past...i just have a little question.. are your shoulder still in the same length?? because i think.. my left shoulder(broken)..is shorter than my right shoulder... thanks for your ansuwer...
Arjie Palalon I also broke mine I asked a doctor he said its natural
Yeah on the side that I broke that shoulder is shorter than the other one
What are your thoughts on a sling vs a figure 8 brace? I've heard mixed opinions. I fractured mine 10 days ago and have been wearing a figure 8 brace but it's so uncomfortable
Collar and cuff definitely
I broke my collar bone twice too. I fell while playing soccer and I was hit by a car.
Brian Jara same with me (the soccer one)
Same with me too
@@jackparsonsclarke3889 dude watch out for those
My collarbone snapped about 1 - 2 months ago, I am no gettin back into sports what's the best way for me to do exercise with it like what sports shall I do
How is it going mate? I'ts been over a year I see, how did it heal?
I've broke my collar bone they said to return for 2nd x-ray in 3 weeks is this OK?? I am wearing figure of 8 brace and a sling is this enough .?
Sara S s How is your collarbone now , did you go for surgery or naturally ?
I've been there, it really sucks breaking the bone. Painful as well
i fractured my collarbone about 14 days ago when i was wrestling, there's a bump but i can generally do everything with my left arm.
+uncreative Awesome how long did it take to get to that point? The thing is im trying to be good for my next Football season in June
Abel Ochoa Well for me it was a little after a month. It might be different for you...hope you get well soon man
broke mine yesterday... im wearing a figure 8 and an arm sling... the bones twitch and move a lot... is that normal?
I broke my collar bone got 20 feet of air off a jump
dude i did the exact same thing.
My point is that you need to check with your doctor as to when you can rehab.
again depending on the severity of the injury....
My collarbone dislocated about 8months ago, it healed on its own, is it safe to play football? Should I figure 8 wrap it before I play?
My collarbone fractured 5 days ago...
Its not so severe...
When can i start to workout ????
arjun bharti how long did you wait?
I waited for a year. Started working out again. Didnt get a surgery. Much better in shape than ever before.
arjun bharti
holy shit! a year?
broke mine 8 weeks ago while cycling. x-ray next friday hopefully will give me go-ahead to start again. some pain still felt while stretching shoulder muscle. takes 8 to 12 weeks according to my doctor to recover.
+Calz1888
I've been healed since, and it actually healed pretty fast. Three weeks and was back on bike.
Protip: load up on magnesium and calcium.
yes yes yes you can ice for the first week or so.....i did and it helped heaps.....also iced after each rehab session too
man, i broke my collarbone 3 days ago and is my first time! Im a soccer player, i play semi-pro , My club doesnt want to pay my recuperation because i broke it riding bike. And the questions i have are : will that affect me later? like playing soccer or lifting? when i can start trainning again? Do muscular shape changes? thanks!
How long it took you to recover? I broke my last week, Ik it’s been 9 years but shit I would love some advixe
i met with an accident in december and till now my collar bone is not in right place.
Hey how is your broken clavicle now?
Figure 8 plus the towell is good?
did mine 4 weeks still it's not healing what to do/
How did it heal?
Dang man, I think I broke my collarbone because I can see a bump and i can barley lift it over my head. Im 13 and i don't want to get surgery already! Any advice
hi bro i have broken my collar bone 5 years ago, it was healed without surgery. Now i would like to join gym, is it possible to do exercises in gym normal like everybody does
I annihilated my collar bone. My shoulder looks deformed
I broke my collarbone 5 weeks ago going of a jump on a snowboard
2 fell off my bike yesterday
Thank you so much!!
I've broken my collar bone 4 times and I am only 12 years okd
Broke mine on Mt. Bike yesterday. They say I was lucky that I broke it in half. I don't feel "lucky".
Thanks
have you done a degree in physiotherapy or sports therapy ?
I’m 12 and just broke mine
Souls same
Jay Vlogs hope u get better
This guy says 4 weeks until he can bike and run is a slow recovery? Bullshit, that's fast as fuck.
Thats my experience anyway and I shattered mine.
can't hear u
God bless!!
I also broke mine in football
Mee😢😭
nasty, yeah sneezing would be killer, bones heal my friend, stay tough
whatsup treek 2019
Broke mine twice
Aha breaking my collorbone in half, it didnt hurt i only felt weakness, then when i felt pain i laughed away, then i started feeling pain that was very annoying then i had to go to the hospital, then they gave me a brace, then i couldnt stand the pinching from the brace then i took it off, then i decieded to break my collorbone again .-. it's cause my mom left me alone in the streets, i was lost for 2 days then i tryed breaking my collor bone then i end up healing it. i was lost and sad,mad

Well, you have the answers now let me know does it?
My collarbone fractured 5 days ago...

When can i start to workout ????
John Wick how did it go ?
