I play bad due to burn out. I have found out that I need longer rest periods than average to keep my mental clean. If I don't take breaks, the top notch part of my games leaves me , which means I become very average and creativity lacking. That soon leads to confidence leaks, which makes my mental robustness even lesser, and soon I am pissed off 5 minutes into a session. What makes me play good? A relaxed frame of mind and an approach to the game that has fun as a big part of the mental approach. Interestingly enough, it's easier for my monkey brain to fold tough spots and bluff properly when I am enjoying my self.
Dear Pete, please consider making these available in 1440p. Most serious poker players have atleast 1440p screen - more and more have 4k. 1080p on these monitors is mediocre at best. Thanks
Not having set enough time aside to play. I play tournaments mainly, and misjudging having enough time and energy to play all the way through to the end should I run deep.
Thanks for content!. I play worse when a session is not going well. Try to fix it, but is not the easy fix to make. Read a lot of content about it and is much better than 2 years ago. But still an issue now and than.
What I do is not look at poker in terms of "sessions". Really poker is just one long endless session. If I have a couple losing days in a row, I'm probably still up from a month ago. As long as the long-term is going up, then you should be happy.
Table 1 at 17:00 arent we betting the middle ish of our range on the turn into a player who called a c-bet on a double broadway board, is this a bad idea? I guess an underpair or weaker 2nd pair that called flop might call turn as well but this feels dangerous.
Lack of sleep is huge factor to not playing well . Then it is being hungry. Btw 4 zoom tables is definitely above my league of playing well . I can play decently just on 2 of them
Interesting video. Having honesty and accountability is great and show very important skills/traits for Poker. Personally enjoyed that more than some known streamers spending their time insulting the pool, the way they run and self validating on GTO wizard. The other question would be, can you reach your A game 4 tabling? GG Poker goes faster for me than PS, the rhythm is quite intense, hard to screen tables and think properly or even take notes with 4, how about 3?
anyone know if there's software out there that locks tables until you've warmed up before a session? I know there used to be Tilt Breaker that would lock tables after a set time limit or a downswing. I'd love to use software that made me answer questions or review hands before i could fire up the tables.
Interesting video as always, but I am not a big fan of this format. It is hard to follow the action, and the numbers are so small on screen that I could not even figure out what size you bet. I much prefer the one or max two tables, where I can actually see what is going on.
I like this format . Explanation goes quick sometimes but that’s normal . I play NL10 in Europe. Not NL100 like you .very interesting format of videos thks
Great content and awesome to get honest opinion from people who sometimes wind up in our shoes. As for 9 morning starts> I do not recommend filling up on coffee, you are better off exercising e.g. running, weight lifting/yoga to get yourself perked up, take the coffee afterwards.
It is true that coffee first thing isn't great for a couple of reasons. One, if adenosine hasn't cleared your system (these molecules are basically a readout of fatigue which will clear in about 90 minutes of waking) then you are now blocking them from clearing out of your system and when the caffeine wears off you will crash as they do finally clear. And two, caffeine doesn't give you energy if you're tired, what it actually does is block you from getting more tired. So a bit of exercise is definitely best, followed by caffeine not sooner than an hour later. Thanks Andrew Huberman for the info.
I have had one of my worst days today too, soo bad theres nothing to do better next time, just dont do it again, no other slogans ! The other game is A-Game too, just Anti-Game.
Less is more. Good format. I'd much rather watch an uncut session with mistakes than a highlight-reel from anyone, as the latter just leads to illusions and delusions and self-doubt, rather than encouragement.

My favorite video so far.
I would watch these even without commentary, but the commentary helps
I played pretty crappy for a while yesterday. Thanks in part to these videos, my win rate gave me the bankroll cushion to cover it.
To be honest I was expecting a lot worse/some mega tilt...seemed mostly to be a sizing issue than super egregious errors
Thx for sharing
Love you make a video about warm-up.
How do you usually warm up for a session?
Not having set enough time aside to play. I play tournaments mainly, and misjudging having enough time and energy to play all the way through to the end should I run deep.

Loved this video Pete. Hopefully you make some more live play videos

How do you play your A game if you're over rolled for the game?
four tables rush is a recipe to play bad. Go up a few stakes and play two. At least then you have a chance to think thru hands
I like this format and your attitude to the game. No bad fir a bawbag.....

Flop 3b over the cb with a4s 109xs is gold.

I like this format since I get to see what you fold in small inconsiderate hands.
would luv to see ur redline for this one - must be very negativ with all that bet folding and little herocalling
good format!
Excellent as always
reg and rec sounds too similar, I prefer fish
i love the advance format
Some days just arent your day. Nothing betting than playing on top of your game though
I have had one of my worst days today too, soo bad theres nothing to do better next time, just dont do it again, no other slogans !

Does GG charge a fee for running it twice? Didnt undrestand the comment about 1%
No it charges a fee for cashing out, as do all sites
no
you look tired too bro! next session is better
i dont like seeing four tables at a time
Only here for cat content

4 tables is unwatchable
