I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's your body and you should be able to do whatever you feel with it. Your insurance should cover any surgery you get, whether it's necessary or elective. You are paying for a service that you can't fully utilize. I would fully support any movement you want to make to have your insurance cover all issues.
Love your friend's energy! I wish that my family would understand this "diastasis recti" issue instead of blaming me of being lazy and not watching what i eat. Toxic. I workout everyday but no change. Thank you for adressing this because so many women suffer in silence with this.
Thank you for sharing your testimony … I’m having a tummy tuck Monday to correct my Diastasis Recti. It’s ridiculous insurance doesn’t pay for correction surgery. After having two almost 9lb babies via c-section, the pain I have daily is out of this world. Thanks for being brave enough to share and I’m down for whatever movement that helps us get the coverage and support we deserve
36? No way!! You're ageless and gorgeous. Thank you for you videos. You were able to help me in many ways during my recovery thank you for your channel.
Fun fact: getting pregnant and giving birth are technically elective. So as your friend says “why don’t they finish the job?” Interestingly your situation is exactly why I feared a C-section. I’m so sorry you are in pain I’m glad you are getting this resolved. Also beyond the aesthetics, you will get older. Bones and muscles weaken. This situation will create a future of procedures and other problems. Your insurance company is just kicking a can down the road. My mother had this same procedure done, 40 years after her last child and only because she had to have a hernia fixed caused by this problem. And AFTER she had to have back surgery. I’m so glad you are able to get this done now. I will pray for your speedy and uncomplicated recovery.
I came to your video because I had a practice question talking all about this and it asked, what is the next best step in management: "Observation and Reassurance". We (docs) are taught that this is a cosmetic procedure and its very painless and does not cause symptoms for the patient. Aint that sad..
My Sista...I’ve seen several of your post op videos, and on a number of levels what they are doing would be considered malpractice here in the US. You had a massive blood loss during surgery that should have been recognized and corrected DURING surgery. I know this because I’m an anesthesiologist and that would have been my job to do. Fortunately it was recognized at some point and you te du we the necessary transfusion Your post op recovery stay has been extended. If the surgeon has not personally made at LEAST daily check ups IN PERSON.. malpractice in the US. Your post op wound drainage. It appears it is draining blood, not merely “fluid”. The way to address this is not by having a massage therapist. A nurse, like yourself, trained in wound care, should have been called to immediately address the malfunction of the drain to determine if it were working properly, and there simply was no more blood draining, or if there was no drainage because of the clot. If it’s the latter, the nurse should know several techniques to address the issue. If he/she was not able to, then the surgeon should have been called immediately. My recommendation. 1: The surgeon needs to be contacted STAT!!! 2: Blood labs need to be drawn to determine hemoglobin/hematocrit levels; blood culture to determine if any infection; and vital signs taken at LEAST every hour. 3: hospital admission if hemoglobin is low to be transfused again perhaps, targeted IV antibiotics if blood culture is positive, and adequate pain control which CLEARLY has not need accomplished appropriately. Yes surgery in DR is cheaper, but the care at these free standing plastic surgery centers is TRAGICALLY substandard. I wish you all the best, my prayers are with you, because this is a crucial time, and these matters need to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. PeAcE
