I am one of the silly people that knew about Star wars and why the first film was called a new hope Lucas said early on the early story wouldn't have made for a good first film he knew without any context of who Anakin would become it would be hard to sell but by showing you who he becomes in IV, V, VI you now want to see how and why. Whereas 7 8 and 9 just ignored everything we had been led to believe and just tries and make some kind of a remake without calling it such, Rae is luke, Luke is Ben and the Emperor is Vader. Star trek remake on the other hand not counting Beyond as that was a bad idea, was well done it gave a reason for the change and no doubt Spoke would have given them a few advancements that way as long as they didn't go too OTT they could say look Kirk has warp 8.5 or something maybe holodecks. I have nothing against remakes as long as they don't do a The day the earth stood still sorry but that hurt my soul or replace people just for Diversity I loved the remake of BSG really did it's better in many ways not just because of the special effect but the overall story.
