Welcome to Side Adventure!!! After a long absence we are back with new content and a new consistent upload schedule! We'll be uploading 2 videos every month which will alternate between "Deep Dives" (reviews, video essays and everything in between) and a Licensed Game Hell (we have fun playing games exclusively licensed from movies and TV shows).
Beforehand we've essentially be experimenting with content. Trying new things to see what works and what people react to. But now we feel like we've learned from our hits and misses and are ready to make a real stab at this channel. So thank you to those who have stayed with us so far and we look forward to welcoming many more viewers :)

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Call of Duty
มุมมอง 1.7Kปีที่แล้ว
We all know the story of Call of Duty. What started as a noble attempt at depicting a grounded a gritty historical battlefield has morphed into a corporate driven soulless power fantasy. However while I agree with these criticisms, I also can't deny how much I still enjoy Call of Duty. So here's how I learned to stop worrying and love Call of Duty. While not many people remember the Eragon movie fondly, it turns out the Eragon video game is surprisingly good, ...

Using clips of Sharpe? Now thats soldiering
60 fps patch in emulator is a thing
Empire 2 would be such a gold mine for them im honestly surprised they havnt made it yet
For me personally, I will never not be in love with Rome II because the amount of units and the satisfying grind to world domination is unmatched
broken diplomacy, broken auto battle and Marathas waaaay OP and aggressive. other than that i love it
Hold up 3 kingdoms sucks
It had some good ideas, naval battles are still total wars best imo. That said, AI is garbage, sieges are atrocious, generals and other characters are pretty pointless. Hopefully one day they make Empires 2.
8:00 my ships never do anything if I try Nelson's tactic 😂
Its one of the most trash total war at the same time one of my favorite. I used to play it before i had steam and i realized i might have played eay to many hours of my life away
Empire is my absolute favorite time period closely followed by late stage medieval 2.
The 3rd is the best in my opinion
i played napoleon , not empire. but absolutly loved it. and those cannons felt op both ways, and cuz i was napoleon and france, kinda lore accurate too, haha jk. the only complaint was the diplomacy, for sth based in 1700-1870 era diplomacy especially in europe should be huge. and the on field scale of the units, barely 50 men a unit felt small. should have shown us sth like 300-400 per unit to make it feel more real.
2nd imo. Shogun 2 is overall the best. But I just adore the navy battles in this!
I love Napoleon total war but it should of been a expansion to Empire to give empire a needed face lift although I do love empire despite the flaws
My fave is when a flag guy runs out in front while my dragoons charge into them AI glitches are funny
Missile units over infantry for me, is the only reason to go to empire. I hope ill get to experience this gem. I heard ai sucks, but thats pretty general in total war imo. Also im pretty familiar with using missile units. I hope your points mentioned will get to play out in my experience
It's great on GBA
Want to weaken your enemy? Move a unit in and out of a port or resource 10 times.
OMG THEY ARE RELEASING THIS GAME FOR MOBILE NOVEMBER 21ST 2024!! I'm so happy 👑
How did Jak X stick around long as a single game? Feels like a bad choice of words there
Empire has the best turn based grand campaign of any total war game, that's what I love. On the hardest difficulty the battle simulator AI isn't that bad either. It's my favourite Total War game, but I'm a early modern history major so I have a particular interest in the time period.
If this game had coop grand campaign it would be the best ever
The stuttering in the FMV sequences may be due to your CPU being too fast; this game expects a high end 486 or low end Pentium. If using dosbox the setting that's around 26,000 cycles should do. On original hardware the cutscenes played normally.
We need a colonial era total war
Empire is my favorite as well. But I love gunplay. Was a huge fan of Sid Meier's Gettysburg and this game brought back that itch in great ways. The scope of this game is gigantic as well when compared to the others. I never could get into Shogun 2 Total War, it honestly felt boring when compared. Building up an economy was fun in Empires. Empires is also great because you have such a variety of units as well. My favorite being Light Dragoons and Light Infantry. They're irregular in how you use them, and you can devastate if used correctly. For example a full volley from hidden light infantry into a advancing formation can change the entire course of a battle. In fact when this game came out, I jumped into multiplayer using old Light Infantry tactics learned from the handbook that Gettysburg came with years ago, and absolutely dominated multiplayer matches... with Light mobile formations, like Light Infantry, Dragoons, and Horse Artillery. Up until people started learning how to play. It was interesting using real tactics in a game that few knew how to play when it first came out and saw how effective the results were. lol For example, dismounting light dragoons and manning a brick wall or house was a good strategy at the time. Reminding me of the opening day of the Battle of Gettysburg. But really tripped people up. As it would delay and sometimes even acted as bait. Had one player walk into 4 regiments of light infantry hiding in a tree line by baiting them with dismounted dragoons which sound like such an easy target. I distracted them with the dragoons returned to my lines after my units were hidden as they were not paying attention to the light infantry but the dragoons, then dismounted the dragoons, and watched all their cavalry just ride into a wall of musks. xD
Napoleon & Atilla for me
I love empire. The only probs were the AI in sieges and France being one big province for some reason. If you like the Royal Navy this game is VERY satisfying
Thematically? Yes, I love it. Technical State? Not so much.
WHOS HERE AFTER THE MOBILE PORT ANNOUNCEMENT?
underrated i just searched up this game right now out of nostalgic
firther stuff: darthmod on moddb and bran macbron submod on twc are essential
Best economic, and most epic ship battles
I just started playing it. I loved it!
Although i do like empire total war. My only problem with it and hopefully they do, do it is include east asia and south east asia into the game.
It was just so buggy but it is my favourite. I just play Fall of the Samurai for a more stable experience for my line infantry fix.
Eh. Sifu is hard for 2 days (aka 10 hours) then it becomes overwhelmingly easy.
I recently came back to Empire after playing Total Warhammer as the Dwarves. I found myself enjoying the style of warfare and remembered where I'd played wiht it before... After many years and some evident patching out of AI exploits this game was much more enjoyable. I only completed 1 campaign of it back in the day and now I've happily done another 3 (2 short, 1 long) and found each very enjoyable for the variety of gameplay as you said. I wouldn't have it as my top pick in the Total War series, but I would have it third among the non-Warhammer games after Medieval 2 and the OG Rome.
ETW and NTW $8 bundle on G2A rn..... too easy
What makes so likeable for me is that he is so relatable. We are all like Ichiban in some way. The Dragon Quest scene in the game is very inspirational, and it really makes me think. I want to Level Up in my own life as well. I watch that scene every single day at work for inspiration, and it made me a better person. His child-like enthusiasm when he talks about wanting to be a hero is very heartwarming and it always makes me smile.
It's just better than Napoleon tw, and I like the idea of fighting on 3 maps at once. With an abundance of factions and its just amazing we want EMPIRE 2
Its about to be released on android
yes but full of glitches and bad ai algo

I never liked JRPGS but I tried this game when it was free for ps plus and I loved it. I bought infinite wealth for 50

Personally, i think Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai does what empire does better on the tactical level, but sadly without the grand scale. I’d really love to see a Victoria: Total War that goes from the early 18th century up through WW1 and is focused on technological progress, forcing the player to change tactics throughout the campaign as ranged warfare becomes more and more deadly and small scale maneuver-based tactics are replaced with attritional warfare. Basically, fighting the typical total war late game bloat by rendering old units increasingly obsolete. Your entire army needs to be restructured every time you acquire or encounter improved technology. At the beginning your lancers might be the terror of the battlefield, but by the end they are dying to machine gun fire. Your flintlock musket unit might be the best trained in the world, but it’s dying to conscripts with percussion cap rifles who can kill half the unit before they fire a shot. Your early game doomstack is totally irrelevant by the late game because all the fire drill in the world doesn’t matter when facing chlorine gas. That was what was so great about Fall of the Samurai. It’s true that half of the total war series is about drama. What is more dramatic than the French “Old Gaurd” unit you’ve been using as a garrison in a conquered land far away getting destroyed by rebels with modern pistols because you couldn’t maintain your sprawling empire?
The books are way better then any of the other media made for it tbh. I physically cannot get 20 minutes into the movie without having to stop cuz I’ll get a stroke from yelling at the screen for inaccuracy💀💀💀
XG1 and XG3 are the best in the series.
I think TW Napoleon is better, feel more polished
There was nothing better than coming out on top in first place in story mode
