Hey, great videos! I love getting inspiration from your builds.. any tips on how to make a village interesting and good to look at but also functional. I built a medieval village recently and it looks amazing but just doesn’t seem to function as a village, my villagers won’t stay near their work blocks and most of them can’t seem to find their way to bed at night so are just getting picked off by zombies! I’m not sure if I overcomplicated my village or made it too big?? Is there a size limit? Think I need to replan!
A tip I heard recently was to redstone a signal to the village bell from a pressure plate where a villager gets out of bed. So first thing in the morning you hear the bell ring, which tells villagers to spend a couple extra minutes indoors while zombies etc. burn up. It doesn't help much with them not going to bed at night but at least they don't get eaten at their front gate in the morning.
Hey buddy, it really depends on the shape, size and how good my vision is for the layout. In creative planning probably takes 1-2 hours for a small village, survival probably 3-4 hours. Having a good idea in your head of what want helps the process a lot 👍😀

I am on XBox and have bought a couple but each one enhances the environment at the expense of ruining some of the building block textures.

Maybe it isn't in the topic of the vid but i have a question. Do you decorate your castles with banners? if yes were do you put them? I am building my city and i think banners are cool in castle but anywhere i put theme they don't look good.

for some odd reason my villagers wont go to bed at night some do but most don't the beds are just as accessible as the rest of them.. just cant wrap my head around it!

Is this in Large Biomes? I can never find a plains biome big enough to build something even close to this size. I can barely get a castle keep into the plains in my default worlds...
