This was number 1 in Costa Rica in 1981 and it is still a super classic here. This song won't ever be forgotten in Costa Rica.

wow, that tells me that Costa Ricans must have benefited a lot from all that wonderful rainforest moist and air and therefore have had clear heads and minds to develop a good taste for real music... lots of respect !

I remember this tune from the early 80's. A one time project of frontman and musician Michael Landau, who has played with some of the biggest names in the business. I used to hear this on a good old soft rock radio station in L.A. KNX-FM who would play great tunes that the more commercial stations wouldn't touch. Some of the best music I ever heard was from that great station. Too bad they don't exist anymore. Thanks for posting this gem.

Found it on SALE! in a small recordshop in Härnösand (that's Northern Sweden) back in 1983....WOW, what a surpise when I played it!!!! one of the BEST albums I have in this genre, along with Pages and Champlins 'runaway'

I found this album on Ebay, and I could not resist: One was a demo sent to radio stations before the album was even printed, and the other one is a new sealed original LP. Awesome album!

This still blows me away and was written and released in my early childhood. Their whole album just flies and soars! I heard this all the time on the radio and the lyrics led me to have a prophetic dream wondering exactly (I was like 6 at the time) who you would end up with after such a traumatic relationship. There are a lot of really deep songs on the Maxus album and I wish they'd stayed together. I guess Landau was so swamped they split or the usual band politics. I put their album in my melodic top 5.

Some years ago I found Jay Gruska´s email, and I wrote him a message, telling him how his music was heard in a lot of places he´d never suspected of, didn´t expect any response. Couple of weeks later I get an email from him, thanking me about the comment I had made. I asked him how could I get his Maxus album, and he said "know what? Send me your post address and we´ll see what we can do". 3 weeks later I receive by post mail a copy of the Maxus album, burned in CD and with a print of the original album cover. He didn´t had any obligation to do it, but he sent me his band´s album. He is a humble and down to earth musician, a class act in my book.

This song has been resonating with me in a powerful way all week. I have experienced this exact feeling, but on an even grander scale than a marriage even. It's been the turning of love into hate I have for my parents and my turning of fear into love for a whole team literally of "perfect strangers." That's a lot of guys. I keep thinking of them knowing we'd be friends knowing they'd notice and if I had any of their email or phone you can bet the story of revenge against an adversary in this song would be even more true. This is powerful stuff and the arrangement is nothing short of extraordinary. Also Jay Gruska's vocals in this song are a knockout. AOR masterpiece!

I LOVED this band SO much in the 80s. Was sad that they didnt' do much overall, but loved them whenever they'd come on KNX-FM (los Angeles) in the 1st part of the 80s. There were a LOT of great gropus back then (Andrew Gold, James Taylor and The Alan Parsons Project among them) but remembered THIS group well and finally found their LP ( I could NOT find it in ANY record store back then - in LA!!) on eBay about 5 years ago. Now have it on my iTunes:-) LOVE Maxus!!!

As fresh as a winter breeze and as swift as hockey beautiful song. I got into Maxus completely by chance their music stuck with me when I had picked the album up years ago then I got it again this year it's all as good as this. Jay Gruska has a very tasteful voice and quite honestly i don't know what stopped this band. All I can say is these session ventures don't last long except for Toto. A battle of egos? That would be my guess.

What's really weird about this is that the lead vocalist eventually worked on Superman. Seriously, Jay Gruska was the composer for all the episodes of *Lois & Clark.* I never would have imagined that this short-lived yacht rock band -- which I only just found out about via SiriusXM -- would have any connection to the Superman mythos, but here we are.
