What is ABS Plastic? What type of plastic is lego made out of?
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is most popularly used in lego, but is also used lots in 3d printing, car fittings, and construction.
ABS plastic is hard and brittle. This creates an end product that can last a lifetime and are very scratch resistant, look at how long lego pieces last.

Well I'm planning on recycling my own PET from water bottles for printing instead of abs, and this just made me want to do it sooner.
At least I can recycle abs by dissolving it in acetone and using it to glue other abs parts together.

Want to know something useful? You can melt ABS down with Acetone (I use MEK though as it doesn't turn the ABS white) and mix in mica and now you have a spreadable epoxy or paint depending on the amount of solvent added. Need an extremely strong coating? Add chopped glass fiber to your paste.

Hi, ahmm I thought ABS is a thermoplastic. It is said that thermoplastic are recyclable but you said ABS is no 7 and is not recyclable., so not all thermoplastic can be recycled?

Hello there! Good observation. Yes thermoplastics are recyclable, and ABS is recyclable. However, because it is grouped in with Number 7, and there is little/no infrastructure to recycle it. It's kind of like saying, "is it possible to sell every possession you own to your neighbor". The answer is yes, it is technically 100% possible. But in the real world it never happens.
