@@TheRealNewBlackMusic I am aware Dre used the 160 Vu on vocals. I am not sure what is being used on Rnb in th industry. I use it in my studio in my mixes. Thanks for the comment
I am picking up the 747 in January, its my Birthday gift. I buy one piece of gear a year. That's very expensive. I will do a video on it. I am trying to firgure out where I am going to put it in my chain. Maybe the mix bus with the Dangerous compressor.
I have a question about which direction I should go with a new bus compressor. I have the tegeler cream RC on my master bus, and I am going to be adding one for the drum bus and maybe synth next. I’m torn in between a tegeler schwerzkraftmachine or Wes audio 500 series and add dedicated units for each bus. If I get the tegeler how can I use it on the bus and use it for other tracks because it’s 11 different compressors in one. Which direction sounds better?
I would recommend trying different brands of compressors. It will give your music a different kind of sound. If every brand is the same it will have a one kind of sound. So try the WES and keep the creme. It also depend on your pockets. i can't afford everything I want so I would get something close. Like I got a Manley VU instead of a Fairchild. Some would say they don't compare but they are both tube and really good. As far as using it on different sources you would need a patch bay so you can patch it and out when needed, hope this helps.
@ for sure, good input on using different brands for different flavors. I looking at these two because of the recall and plug-in control. I think the Tegeler is more flexible because of the different modes, but mixing with it will probably be problematic because I’d have to freeze tracks and unfreeze to make changes especially if I want to use it on the bus also. The Wes audio 500 series might be the way
Plat i could use your extensive experience and knowledge Im with a sm7b and a focusrite isa one I want a typical industry rap vocal chain so im about to get warm audio wa73 eq and wa1b new units (in my country second hand is no go) Would you recommend to proceed or is it not worth it and better wait for some coin and get a BAE and a tubetech Thanks in advance
@@ירח I recommend a cloud lifter for your SM7b. I used that mic for years on rap vocals even though I have a U87. If you can’t get a great rap vocal with that and focus rite, then getting the other gear won’t matter, that should give you a great rap vocal But a cloud lifter will help. Unless, you got the clients to justify spending 4,200 on Tube Tech and 1,800 on Neve. It’s not worth it. But if you must have it get a used wa 73 and the WA 1B. I have both and I have the Neve 1073 and Tubetech. I can record with clones or the real ones and get a great vocal. The money you will spend for wa1b and wa73. You can get the Neve 1073 sp and a cloud lifter. You can compress in the box. BAE is overpriced have one and it’s noisy. Good luck.
