I'm so into this game lately that I'm believing it's a current show.

Eydie Gormet had a great voice! She appeared in an operetta skit on The Carol Burnett Show with Tim Conway and was singing some very high soprano notes which I never would have thought she had. Carol Burnett portrayed a six year old who was upset about her new baby brother and her acting was superb! ❤

When Alan won, the joy was tremendous, genuine, he was so excited, really nice to see someone so happy in that moment.
I think the last male contestant fancied Eydie😉

So this monolithic giant, Don Huffman, was indeed a Professor and eventually a Professor Emeritus in Iowa. He passed away in 2014 having survived his wife - whose peculiar nickname was "Fish" - by four years. Huffman once write that his Uncle "Mick" was so gigantic, he was excused from service during the Korean Conflict/War.
    Thanks, Google.

Password was "Appliance", but nobody gave as a clue word: "Washer" or "Refrigerator".
In 1963, almost every house had one of each. Maybe the celebrities on this episode stayed in weekly Hotels.

There are points where the lady playing with Ms. Gorme is a dead ringer for Suzanne Pleshette.

Steve must have made a comment about Eydie and charge cards in a prior show. They both were working. I don't see the big deal.

America was very Conservative in those times. Almost British.

The correct words are classy and couth and well-mannered.
Now, sadly, America is foul, disgusting and immoral, thanks primarily to the foul scriptwriters of movies and TV programs, and the importation of the "Beatles" the next year.
