    I don't know if it's intentional, I wouldn't be surprised if it was though given the attention of detail the show has gone to, but I love the double meaning of the episode title being "Fail Safe." Obviously there's the 7734 being Clark's fail safe if he ever goes bad again but there's also the Eradicator being Krypton's fail safe to preserve their culture and restore their people. I really can't praise the writing of this show enough

    If it were the typical CW writing: Jonathan would of told Tegan the whole thing because he likes her and she betrays his trust later on. Creating this unnecessary teenage drama. Glad they didn't went there. Kudos to the writers of this show.

    3:29 - In Supergirl Season 2 Episode 22, Superman was affected by Silver Kryptonite which caused him to hallucinate General Zod whenever he looked at Supergirl. So we know for a fact that this version of Superman _has_ faced General Zod before. The only reason this wouldn't be the case is if _Crisis on Infinite Earths_ retconned it. I also felt bad for him, he was good after all in the beginning, but his ship landed on the wrong zone with the wrong humans, he got the wrong crystal, an abusive father figure, and he was so happy he was not alone when he heard about Kal, he also wanted to speak with his mother.
      BUT, I think Morgan is not dead yet, the Eradicator has a split personality, the evil side is taking control of him, but in the end Morgan will end his life to save Kal.

    Great theories and I agree. Now since Edge is seemingly immune to the effects of kryptonite(somehow?) I believe when they throw basically all the kryptonite they have at him he'll remain unaffected but it will seriously hurt Superman. Edge has also been built up from the start as someone who just wants to feel like he belong, and when he sees the hologram version of his mom he will be able to start fighting against the eradicator similar to how Superman was able to start fighting against Zod once he heard Lois' voice through John's communication device. Doubt that they'll keep another non-El kryptonian around after this season so I'm guessing Edge will either commit suicide to stop the eradicator after a talk with Holo-mom or he'll go the phantomzone or something similar.

    I don't think edge is gone I think Clark will use the crystal that has edges father I thought it was weird how they focused on Clark saying the crystal will never be used again almost foreshadowing it will be used again. One thing I am noticing & maybe looking too deep into it? But all the Jesus stuff that Superman movies want to push & shove down our throat from poses to direct quote from the Bible (including the late Donner's movies) are given to the villain including crucifix pose. Now the jesus angle Smallville also went towards this, but they put those in the 2nd or 3d category the main primary focus of Smallville like Superman & Lois is the main charecters. In movies it is the exact opposite Jesus angle ,imagery & dialogue first; interesting characters or development second. Because the shows know if you can't find the charecters interesting or likable then you won't find the show any good.
    Also I am not offending or saying bad things about any Christians. I am just saying how much the Superman movies rely on Bible imaginary & quotes to make themselves feel epic & grandiose without actually having anything epic or grandiose. They are that kid who read some epic thing & think they are knowledgeable than everyone else simply because they know that one thing.

    • @Sugardeluxe
      @Sugardeluxe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think it’s exactly that at all. From out of the gate Superman and by extension all Kryptonians are described as Gods on Earth. They are near invulnerable and all powerful. The messianic imagery isn’t exactly a new “thing” it’s been in art, television, and film for countless years. (Gods of Olympus.) It’s meant to convey a cosmic force, mythic even - any “Christian” connotations are in your head.
      It’s not a posture beyond an artistic/visual flair unless it explicitly a film like The Passion of the Christ.
      Also, and this is just me being snarky - you shouldn’t call out a show’s intelligence and intentions and then use the term “more smarter”.

    • @kazinadbiralamadit6905
      @kazinadbiralamadit6905 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sugardeluxe again this show, Smallville, Lois & Clark & Superboy have been doing Superman right for the past 40 years than movies. The movies simply use pose & quotes because they don't know how to write Superman at all. Also comics apart from some allusion don't compare Superman to a God or Jesus. Sure some writers do that like Grant morrison but even he knows the human elements are just as important as the extraordinary powers if not more.
      Also yes Director's like Donner, Singer & Snyder just use that pose simply because they think that audiences are stupid & won't understand what that pose means. In Superman returns one of the writers actually tried many times to have Bible dialogue & crucifix pose toned down or removed entirely but Singer kept pushing more for it. Do I even need to say about Snyder, he has a perfectly good actor (who can be good as Tyler) as Superman yet he keeps pushing evil Superman & more jesus imaginary than actually showing him being good. Donner as much as I like him is also responsible for this stupid trend by wanting to have more grandiose.
      Also yes the directors themselves have said that those quotes & poses were done intentionally. Another reason I don't like this is that everyone one of those movies even when you say particularly in case of Returns & BvS,ZSJL they just give a long winded comment about bible & how they are deep simply because of that.

      @@surrotten3354 like I said I don't have a problem with it if it is done correctly examples include Superman I , Smallville. Also yes it looks badass I would not have any problems with it if not for the fact when regular people like me questions some plot hole they just give winded speech about Bible. Tv tropes website actually said compared to comics (which uses it less) movies go overboard with this idea. At this point you can call this a cliché of Superman movies. I really hope in the new Superman movie Berlanti & Helbing are involved with the new Superman movie in some capacity.
