US Army Sets Camp in Eastern Poland

- The U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, deployed to Poland to reassure NATO allies, was seen, Feb. 23, 2022, operating out of a camp at a landing field near Arlamow, in eastern Poland.
Washington sent 4,700 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division to Poland, more than doubling the U.S. troop presence there.
This deployment could put U.S. and Russian troops in proximity, which experts say is a risk given that conflict can easily, and inadvertently, spill over borders.
For months, Russia has presented the crisis mainly as a dispute with the West, demanding security guarantees, including a promise never to allow Ukraine to join NATO.
