What a great home for someone who needs it. It would be great if local businesses got together to place our homeless veterans in a home. This would be a perfect home for an idea like that. After all, I bet this home was built for returning veterans from WWII. It has all the earmarks of a cracker box home (nickname someone came up with). They were made to add rooms as needed. 😊❤ Thanks Spencer for getting another angel to help make our neighborhoods look beautiful, and keeping crime down. ❤

It took me a few mornings because I couldn’t stay out all day in the heat. But I made a huge change in my lawn one week and now have it under control. Another great transformation. I live in East San Diego, Cleveland National Forest where unattended yards get scrubby and nasty, but never overgrown. Parts of the yard just die.If it's not a native plant, it doesn't have a chance. It's dry here, we get 10 inches of rain per year. We often go a couple of months with no rain. It was good this video showed how hard you work. Those TH-cam dollars are earned the hard way.
For people watching, the weeds in the fenceline and around that tree are pokeweeds. Mowing/weedeating them does not kill them, a 5-6' plant will have a tap root 18"+. Even the small ones around the tree will have a 6" root the size of a small carrot. You can run a shovel into the ground beside it and push into it, breaking the tap root way underground and pulling it out. It's the only way to get rid of them. Pretty much every part of them is poisonous to people and pets so it's best to get rid of them early.
We boil and eat poke in the south. Only the leaves from young growth, though. My mom always boiled it once, drained it, then boiled it again. Tastes a lot like spinach, its very good. But she said to never eat it when its big, as it gets "too toxic to eat". Don't know the facts on that, but I do know this plant is annoying, and as you said, toxic.

I have a 21 year old that could do this and get some fresh air, but this age group (some of them) have been feeling they got a raw deal from covid and have retreated to their bed 24-7. Do they think momma is going to take care of them for life? They are rather moody and reactive about it too. I'm going on 74 and can't support my kids anymore on Social Security to maintain a 3 bed dwelling. I am ready to move into a smaller, more affordable unit once we shrink our belongings. These young adults need to pay rent to live here and earn their keep.
This video certainly proves that what you're doing is hard work and far from easy. Good tools and equipment help, but you guys are busting your asses out there. Great work.

According to the city worker from across the street, it seems in this case the former residents thought grass was only good for smoking, not mowing. Until someone grassed on them and they and their pharmaceuticals were finally weeded out of the neighborhood.

Been a subscriber since before he had 100k so I know he did real work beforehand, but YT money is no joke and every video of his recently is playing on heartstrings and customized down to the title to play to the YT algorithm ("OLD Woman NEARLY CRIES After Mowing Lawn", "Mowing ALMOST Got Me in JAIL", etc). He's even got the photo crew following him now (as you can see in this video). You can't hire professional videographers & editors unless you're making bank - and if you're making bank, you're not running a status quo landscaping business anymore.

I love your videos - you are amazing. Totally awesome job. I watched one of your earlier videos before this where you took care of someone's super overgrown back yard - just wow. And you accidentally broke the window and then paid for it!! You're a real kind gentleman - don't ever change. Am amazed that people have to maintain the footpaths outside their homes where everyone can walk - that's a council thing here in the UK. Keep up the amazing work - you're a real credit to your community.
It isn't always about being proud. When I was a kid, we used to knock on people's doors to rake their leaves or shovel their snow. Kids today don't even do their own homes, much less a neighbor's. My 75 year old husband who has RA tries to do our yard work because we can't afford what (they call themselves) landscapers charge. And back in the day we used to pay way over our budget for a badic grass cut and leaf blow. It breaks my heart to see my husband out there. So next time you see a neighbor's yard "bringing down" your precious neighborhood, maybe knock on their door and see if you can help. Otherwise, keep your heartless comments to yourself.
As always you guys did such a fabulous job. You are all a great benefit to all the communities you help. May God Bless you all. Also, could you show more of the interactions with the people of the community? It is great to hear what they think.

The number of empty homes in Australia match the number of homeless and those who can’t find rentals and yet the gov won’t open them up it would solve the homeless crisis instantly.
That’s not a simple answer to the homeless issue just sticking them in abandoned homes. There’s more that goes with that especially when you’re the one living in that neighborhood. You have to detect the issues that made them homeless in the first place and address that also for a long term real answer.
You know darn well, no city will clean up a property like you will! Those corner lots keep calling your name, don't they! Drew was a brave soul to follow & work with you on this! Hats off to both of you☺

It's just a gutter with no curb. Not super common, but not super rare.
It helps move rainwater.

@@SBMowingme, too, it fertilizes the lawn, rather than putting organic material in a plastic bag and filling the landfill, which is rather stupid.
My husband would never place overgrown sod on our lawn unless it was to patch an area! Any Abandoned homes fine 🤷🏼♀️

I love your videos - you are amazing. Totally awesome job. I watched one of your earlier videos before this where you took care of someone's super overgrown back yard - just wow. And you accidentally broke the window and then paid for it!! You're a real kind gentleman - don't ever change. Am amazed that people have to maintain the footpaths outside their homes where everyone can walk - that's a council thing here in the UK. Keep up the amazing work - you're a real credit to your community.

It isn't always about being proud. When I was a kid, we used to knock on people's doors to rake their leaves or shovel their snow. Kids today don't even do their own homes, much less a neighbor's. My 75 year old husband who has RA tries to do our yard work because we can't afford what (they call themselves) landscapers charge. And back in the day we used to pay way over our budget for a badic grass cut and leaf blow. It breaks my heart to see my husband out there. So next time you see a neighbor's yard "bringing down" your precious neighborhood, maybe knock on their door and see if you can help. Otherwise, keep your heartless comments to yourself.
And that goes for anyone else on here who makes comments about their "messy" neighbors. It isn't always about you.

I agree ...all across the country abandoned homes. All they need is family who will take care of it ❤❤
They need to get Habitat for Humanity involved somehow and the towns and city governments to help may go people up with these homes.
We could send some from New York, we just got ten thousand more homeless. I hate seeing good homes go to waste.
The number of empty homes in Australia match the number of homeless and those who can’t find rentals and yet the gov won’t open them up it would solve the homeless crisis instantly.
That’s not a simple answer to the homeless issue just sticking them in abandoned homes. There’s more that goes with that especially when you’re the one living in that neighborhood. You have to detect the issues that made them homeless in the first place and address that also for a long term real answer.
