Rise (Scott, Mitch & friends). Extremely powerful performance done in response to the Pulse nightclub shooting in FL. It will give twice the goosebumps this song gave you. I've yet to see a reactor not completely blown away by the end of it 😊

For more PTX videos i highly recommend Wizard of Ahhhs which they perform with Todrick Hall, Love Again which is an original song of theirs that they did early in their career, and 90's Dance Medley which is one that always makes me want to dance. Also they have done several Evolution of songs, such as Evolution of Music, Evolution of Michael Jackson, Evolution of Beyonce, Evolution of Rihanna and Evolution of Ariana Grande

How about some Pentatonix-adjacent stuff if you're looking for ideas? Scott and Mitch have a side channel called 'Superfruit' as a play off of their LGBTQ status, and they use it to kind of do whatever extra stuff they feel like. Back in 2016, when the Pulse nightclub massacre happened in the queer club in Orlando, Superfruit teamed up with Brian Justin Crum, Mario Jose, and Mary Lambert, all friends of Scott and Mitch's from LA and other points (at one point Mario was a road crew member for PTX on tour, actually, before launching his own solo vocal career). This group did a cover of Katy Perry's sleeper single, "Rise" to express solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and to respond to the massacre with a message of defiance.
It has since stunned reactors and vocal coaches and musicians alike. Superfruit's RISE cover is a regular go-to every Pride for the LGBTQ community, and it has been remarked that their cover has "upgraded" the original song and video by Katy Perry. Many folks don't know Rise because it's one of Perry's lesser-known songs. The video is amazing and their rendition is frequently called a vocal masterpiece. They aren't a capella - there is a piano accompaniment, but piano + 5 voice harmony in an arrangement which would have fit in perfectly with any PTX arrangement.

Anyway, as to suggestions, anything by these guys is very welcome! Off the top of my head, Gold, Imagine, Come Along, Love Again, (original song), Can't Hold Us, Say Something, New Rules x Are You That Somebody?, Coffee in Bed ( another original) and any of their Evolution videos.
Scott did a duet with Mario Jose called 'Lost on You' which is a mash up of LP's song and Hans Zimmer's score from the movie 'Inception' which is my current obsession (my fav tunes chop and change all the time lol).

Wow!!! I listened to Simon & Garfunkel when it was first released and I truly wouldn’t want to choose between. Because you mentioned it I’ve be treated for anxiety and depression since I was 18. I’m 60 now and still it’s an every day thing. I’ve been blessed with a wonderful wife that understands. I've been subscribed since you first started listening to Tom Macdonald lol! But I would definitely recommend their sing off series that made them famous or they did a challenge where they try to sing 100 songs in 10 minutes thats amazing!!

PTX was in the middle of that World Tour when Cov*d hit and had to cancel the rest of the tour and return home. I was one of the lucky ones who got to see them twice on their North American leg of the tour before they headed overseas. And Yes, More PTX.

Yes, more PTX makes everyone happy :) I really like "Love again", "Little Drummer Boy" and "Mary did you know" (although it's not Christmas time rn) and of course their version of Bohemian Rhapsody.
What's sad is that the announcement of their world tour is still relevant. Covid interrupted them mid-tour and the make up dates are later *this* year. Someone told Mitch they got tickets for their 16th birthday and they'll be 19 when they finally get to go.

This is one of my favorites. Both the performances and arrangement are so powerful. Edited to add that I'd love to see you react to their performances of Let's Get It On and Dog Days are Over from their run on The Sing Off competition show. That shows is what brought them into the public eye at the beginning of their career.

the Simon Garfunkel recording was the soft warning of things to come.
The Disturbed cover was the warnings being ignored and suffering consequences.
PTX cover was the hope that people will still hear the warning and take heed.

I read another fan say not to worry too much about putting a filter on the videos, we have all seen them before! Superfruit is also fantastic, and if you are a hip hop fan, be sure to check out Hip Hop Goes Broadway, Parts 1 and 2. Bloopers at the end, so watch all the way through.
