- For the past few years I've really enjoyed filming the Newer Volkswagen's, but now we'll be taking a look at this 11 year old Jetta and seeing how this vehicles condition has held up compared to other brand vehicles. Are Volkswagen's being built better now or do you think they will continue to look like this 10 years later? People say its really all about how well the previous owner took care of a car, but I still believe it also depends on how well the manufacture built them and using quality parts. Either way today its still a vehicle less than $3000 and if the condition was a bit better the price would not really change all that much.

FYI - Charleston Car Videos on TH-cam Started in 2011. Back in 2008 is when I started filming cars as a car salesman to give people a better way to see a new or used vehicle. And that's why you have a mechanic look over it/pre-purchase inspection. A basic PPI will cost $100 to $200. For that price, you can expect a good overall mechanical and safety inspection (including a test drive) of the vehicle.
I have a 2007 Jetta GLI with 68k miles absolutely love the car to death, the car before that was a 2007 Wolfsburg edition got rid of it with 170k miles on the clock. Always have been and probably always will be a huge Volkswagen advocate, but man I gotta tell you this VW has seen much better days.

I have a 2008 Jetta 2.0T Wolfsburg edition and I love it! I also restored mine to look like new and have modified and tuned it. Jettas are great first cars

I have a 2005 VW Jetta, 2.5L, and well, I've spent a lot of money maintaining it. Has 140k miles on it, and I'm original owner and have done the oil changes and such. But as any mechanic who has been around for a while will tell you, don't buy VW, and especially not one with high mileage.

Right now I may have a computer issue, and I'm being told there is only one computer for my car in the country for sale right now (USA), and that it is very expensive. And that a used computer can't be used for some reason (programming issues?). Hoping it isn't though.

I bought mine from my sister in law with just under 115k. I've done brakes, tires 1 wheel bearing, hood latch, rear springs and brake light. It still had the original pads on the back wtf. She didn't have to do ANYTHING other than oil changes, tires, front pads and rotors. I'm now up to 165k and runs and drives great.

It still looks fresh in a lot of areas, awesome considering the design is largely from 2004.
A lot of people don't know this but the cylinder heads on the 2.5 5 cylinder engine were made by Lamborghini

So, if you know VW so well then you would know the 2.5L i5 are bullet proof engines. The ones made in Germany are proper. Those made in Mexico are trash. The i5 will last as long as the body does.
