- This is our journey for 5th September 2019, we came back to Shillong after our travel from Sohra and Jowai.

Aura Cottage
Room Tariff Rs 1825 for double occupancy per day, i paid 3650 for 2 days. This is about 1 km from wards lake and almost similar distance from Police Bazar.

After this we went bada bazar vegetable market which is 1.5 km away from shillong, saw many vegetables that are sold locally.
Red Rice restaurant: this is on GS road, walking distance from Police bazar.
Following are the details of food items we had at this place.This restaurant is mostly famous for traditional, local food.

Umiam Lake: Most travellers prefer to stay near Umiam lake, which is a good idea because this place is calm and serene. Distance from Shillong is about 16 km,. If you are travelling from Guwahati, Umiam lake will come on your right hand side- 16 km short of Shillong.

Kim Pou restaurant : This is a good chinese food restaurant, i enjoyed chinese food here. Most family restaurants in shillong close by 9 or 9.30 pm, so check the timings if you are getting late.

I viewed entire Meghalaya series in August 2021. Luckily , I visited Meghalaya in November 2021. After returning, I watched this series again and it felt so nice reliving the experience!
Meghalaya basically Shillong is designed like a Bride during Christmas. If you can come at this particular time you can have a unique feel and enjoyment in entire Shillong city. Like late night parties, outdoors games, activities etc. etc. We never miss this time during that time. Thank you 😊
I personally love all the states of northeast specially Meghalaya because of there natural beauty, culture, lovely weather, traditional food, climate, dressing style, peaceful environment.. everything is awesome. All the states of northeast are beautiful than the other states of India. I would suggest everyone that please come in northeast and enjoy your life in green forest and peaceful environment with positive thoughts and mind. Whenever you will come in Meghalaya, you can feel the vibration of nature and you can see lot of clouds floating together over the hills. Basically I don't have words to describe how beautiful this place is ! Whenever you will come here, I am pretty sure that you will not feel like leaving this place. I think everybody should come in northeast states like Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura and sikim. I am feeling proud that I am also from northeast( Agartala Tripura).

Atmospheric scenes at the canyon . The walk through the market was colourful and interesting .Very sporting of the three girls to guide you around . The lake definitely merited a stay for it's lovely and peaceful surroundings.
Shillong has always been a haapy place for me since my college days ... I am from assam . Me and my friends even used to visit Shillong just to have lunch on Saturdays.. it always gives a positive vibes... And thank you for depicting Shillong in such a good way ... It's reay nice ...

Fact about my northeast.
Cities in northeast are be bit polluted and crowded, mostly because of outsiders.....but once u visit villages(local inhabited areas) you will find clean, green and quiet environment.

Come to umkhoi canyon truely it will blow your mind cz there's a lake on the top of the cliff and also a jaw dropping waterfall called shumshum waterfall
