- finaly some clips of it on the street sorry for the poor video my bud filming is a bit of a tard... the truck still have the old 4L60E tranny with 126,000 miles on it... 3.42 limited slip rear end... stock vortec intake and stock vortec tune... this truck is no where near finished just together so i have somthing to drive lol ya its my DD!
0-60 in 7 seconds in a truck is very impressive.
60-90 in 5 seconds is simply incredible.

I have an 01 Sonoma, Vortec 6 with bolt ons. Hypertech Programmer makes all the difference. Tops out at 128. Nice truck man.

My 2002 S10 has the factory 2.2 Vortec with a Supercharger & Split manifold BORLA exhaust system I had installed last summer..I haven't Dynoed it yet but I can keep up with V6 Vortec S10

Sounds like highway gears, if you have a 4 spd auto then throw some 3.73, or 4.10/.11's under that thing. The gears will make it feel like a totally different truck/motor. You can thank me later.
Looks like my truck only yours is an Xtreme... From the video it looks like you're pulling 0-60 in bout 6 seconds or so, not bad!
I installed mine 2 years ago. I got the nv 3500 with a 308 rear end. She dynoed 240 @315 at 3450 curb. I beat an RT Dakota the other day by at least 6 cars on the freeway. I want to try a 3.42, but I drive far to work. theres alot of them at the j yards in blazers.

If you wan't a cost effective v8 s10, go with a junkyard 5.3 build with a 4l60e auto and make sure you have a posi rearend. A mild cam 5.3 will put down good power and still get high 20s MPG. A traditional SBC is a simpler swap if you gut the computer, but won't get half the gas mileage an LS series motor will.
All in all, they are VERY reliable trucks, I've had my 2.2 for over a year now with no problems whatsoever.

These things are reliable with any motor they came with. However, you can't speak for any v8 s10s because for all you know, it could be some 220K mile 350 that's ready to grenade.
The 2.2L versions do decent on gas, up to the lower 20s on the highway, but are far from anything to brag about with their low power. Mine has a header and full exhaust and still doesn't put down 100whp. Also won't tow itself let alone a trailer.
The 4.3 sucks gas but takes care of the problems the 2.2 had. 17mpg best.
J2evvin Anyine who doesn`t buy a either blue printed /crate engine is looking for trouble.Of course the Chevrolet S10/S10 Blazers are very reliable.I currently own a 2001 engineLs Chevy Blazer That has 146574 k miles on her.I have the 4.3liter V/6 Vortec engine.I`m the 2nd owner.It has both original engine/4l60E transmission that rolled off of the Gm Factory floor.Alot of people don`t know this..But the 4.3 is a cast iron 5.7 liter 350 Cu in small block with two cylinders shaved off.

The 5.7liter 350 cu.in small block chevy..The best small block known to man.Gm quit using it in the newer chevy trucks Cause they last.
No dude it's a big ass iron block it was staple for years but efficiency, power, and mpg the LS is still king dude.

thats thing is awesome ... however, i dont agree with the front end body kit swap ... I had a Blazer Xtreme. the factory body kits are, i think, perfect on the all Xtremes.

for a rwd pickup, i own an 03 s10 2.2 (very slow :( ) this truck hauls ass! but i bet it sucks gas like a mofo lol very nice man, keep it up.
45nate88 this is an old video, but I just found it now....did you notice the fuel gage? Less than a quarter tank, I'm sure the owner got used to seeing that! I've got an 05 blazer, and I'm thinking about swapping a 5.3 in. It should work with my trans nicely. I'm having a compression issue with my 4.3.

I have a 02 2.2l and they tow fine I pushed my buddies 86 f150 several miles mostly uphill and never dropped below 60 mph granted the tac was at 4 grand lol all good tho I've pushed it to redline xD

Not really sure that's worth doing. You can make decent power with a 4.3 with some mild head work and cam then the bolt on parts and a reprogram. Then you take into account the added weight of the 5.7 and your not gaining enough to make it worth doing. You didn't pop the hood so I'm gonna assume it's carbed fuck that if that's the case.
what did you have to do to get that engine to work without the check engine light to come on some details on that swap would be great as im looking to do the same thing to my 99 xtreme with auto trans and hows the new motor on emissions thanks

Ya know whats funny is my xtreme only has flowmaster exhaust and it accelerates really close to that too. Especially in the 45 and up range. I wouldn't believe it if I havent done it many times.
