My mom went to high school and was friends with Lliana and Eric. Summer break was still a few days away and they had skipped school for the day, which was not uncommon. The next day it was announced at school that they had been killed and the whole student body was understandably horrified and shocked. There was a page in the yearbook dedicated to them. That sort of thing was unheard of in Eugene. I had reached out to the Lane County sheriff earlier this year to try and get info on the case but since it was still an open investigation I had no luck. Low and behold a few months later and they had revealed the perpetrator. Really a shame he could not be brought to justice but we are so grateful to finally have answers for Lliana and Eric.
Wow, this case was a large part of your life. So tragic.
Thank you for submitting additional details, helps to remind viewers that these people are far more than a tragic photo can ever hope to demonstrate.
that’s incredible !
The two brothers probably found out they was gonna be swabbed for DNA because the other brother still in Oregon probably told them that police came to his house. Then an argument ensues and they get into a fight eventually the killer got ahold of the gun and killed himself. That's what i think happened.
I recently graduated from NEHS. I was really shocked to hear about them; I’d never heard about this. I’m relieved that their killer was revealed, and I’m also glad that their remains were found right away. The not knowing when someone you love disappears is a real torture. May they Rest In Peace, and may their families heal now, knowing who was responsible
These old cold cases that finally got solved are so satisfying. I bet the murderers all thought they got away with it at this point, and I’m so glad they didn’t.
Well, the first guy did. Died at the age of 94 and was always a free man. They solved the case, but it was 50 years after the crime.
You haven’t followed properly have you? One lived until 94yo. Let’s hope that his end of life wasn’t all rosy. Let’s hope that he will come back with a heavy Karma.
@@littleredwitch oh I didn’t just mean the specific cases mentioned in this video, I meant old cases that finally was solved in general
But they won't forever. It doesn't help the pain of each families, but it will happen. Mom's know. In Maureen's case, the mother KNEW in her heart. A mother can be wrong, she is only human, but not in this case.
It's unfair that Maureen's killer lived to a ripe old age.
Still, he won’t escape God’s punishment.. which is eternity (not 50 years) 😁
@@gorgeouss79 I heard he repented and is now in heaven
@@darkmanzz 🤣🤣
@@darkmanzz I heard he found Maureen in Heaven, and killed her again. The repent thing was just a ruse.
@@MrTruckerf dang. That's not good!
lliana was my dad's cousin. he was 12 when she was murdered. i grew up hearing about this case and we thought it would never be solved, so it is nice for my family to have closure after so long.
Tricia was let down by so many people… her birth family, her foster family and then by the original cops and DA on the case.
Bingo
Imagine the witness who saw the crime leaving her there injured
She was basically surrounded by scoundrels. Should have been a shut and closed case within a day, if witnesses had come forward.
@@brettwilkinson9529 Tricia's murder would never have happened if her foster mother had reported what Daniels had done. Really disgusting that the entire foster family put Daniels' interests ahead of Tricia's. Thank God justice was only delayed and not denied.
So many people even her “family”
"Triicia's foster mother did not allow smoking inside the home..." , but murder is totally ok.
More like the landlord didn't probably. And the mother was likely being intimidated by the father.
@@alexexcess7620 I thought he was the mothers daughters boyfriend not the father of anyone involved in the case
Damn, that old bastard who killed Maureen got to live a full life. Smh…
I take great comfort and pleasure in knowing that there are so many criminals out there who thought they got away with murder and are now shaking in their boots awaiting that knock on their door.
Why the hell did Patricia's foster mother let this guy keep coming around?!
Exactly
Because he was probably intimidating and threatening her as well. She was probably terrified of him. And yes...low life.
She didn’t care what her foster daughter was exposed to. She shouldn’t of had kids in her care since she didn’t care.most are In it for the paycheck
She got something for it. A lot predation on the children of divorce.
Parabon should get federal funding. It's absurd that private citizens have to be depended on for justice for these victims and their families.
*Ruthlessly tax* the Kardashians and everyone else in their obscene wealth-bracket, cretins who have so much money they won't even notice its gone, and let's solve these cases.
Amen to that.
It’s pretty disgusting that Patricia was in foster care to protect her and then in fact that introduced her to her killer.
“This is America”
Ironically foster care can be a gamble for many of the children forced to be in these homes. Even if not sexually assaulted still treated horribly just to make money from the state. My cousin was put into foster care in his early teens and was anally raped the first night by the foster father. To this day he is very scarred emotionally and it's alsmot 50 years later. Can't have a relationship, doesn't trust anyone etc.
@@edju9968 I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. I know people who have been in the system, it doesn't seem to end well for them most of the time, emotionally or even physically scared, It's a sick sad truth that a lot of people just turn a blind eye too.
@@Claireannette77 This happens all the time in english speaking countries, not only in america like you tell yourself.
@@AspireGMD It’s a quote. Educate yourself before making ignorant and unasked for remarks.
I love your content. Even though sad, sharing these stories contribute to the victims not being forgotten.
Content is good, voice is terrible to listen to
@@kamikazekrush3758 that’s entirely subjective. i don’t mind it
@@kamikazekrush3758 I like her voice a lot
Why would he randomly want to kill Patricia? I think there might be more to his relations with her and shame on the Foster sister for protecting a sick murdered
And what a terrible, awful, no good foster parent.
@@Whimsey6 Actually I would put it directly on the shoulders of the Department of Child Services (or whatever it is called in your country) for putting a vulnerable youngster into the care of an inadequate family. Sadly enough it still happens all the time nowadays.
@@littleredwitch Everywhere!
@@littleredwitch The foster system is sadly overwhelmed and underfunded, so oversight is not what it should be. I'm sure whatever caseworker she had was just happy they had a place that would take her so she wouldn't wind up in a shelter or worse.
And considering that the foster sister was likely afraid of her boyfriend (because he had just admitted to murdering someone...) then felt that the fact that she had covered for him would mean she would be thrown in jail or worse, I honestly can't blame her much for not wanting to come forward. Foster kids have been shown how little the system (and the world in general) cares about them, she no doubt believe the worst would happen to her just for lying. The whole mess is just tragic all the way down....
Made no sense
Thank-you for another excellent update video. Three old cases happily resolved. Such a coincidence that Maureen Brubaker's murder was solved half a century to the day since her killing, and it's tragic that her life was taken at just seventeen, whilst her killer lived into his nineties.
It's very disturbing that nobody spoke up about the degenerate that killed that young lady on the fire escape.
The Foster Mother could have prevented that murder, if she would have reported his earlier threatening behavior. Sorry the system didn't truly help you Tricia.
And BOTH of her sisters knew who killed her too! Absolutely awful and it was so preventable in the first place 😢
And the neighbour who didn't say anything for 30 years!
In cases 1 and 3 the young girls had such sad lives. They both got more care and resources after they died, than they ever did when they were alive
The killers were named after many years of these young people. Daniels was a dangerous person and should have been reported for his conduct toward Tricia. The foster mother did not bother to protect Tricia.
I like that he thought he could get away with it. He nearly did due to the crappy adults who cared for her.
She was probably only a foster mother for money from the state to take care of the child.
Imagine his girlfriend keeping quiet for all those years, knowing what he did.
A few months ago I saw a documentary about CPS and the foster system- a lot of kids that go into the system are trafficked, and, equally shocking, if a child disappears the foster home/parent is under no obligation to report it.
@@tommyibanez3958 Horrible! Is there no check in?
DNA is an incredible investigation tool. Thank you for this excellent presentation my dear.
that last one was so sad!! the mother cared more about herself than protecting the integrity of her foster child! But karma is like a boomerang...it always makes its way around!
God not karma
@@shirleyursulakimwong7005 Karma. God doesn't exist 🙃
I love it when very old cold cases are solved!! It warms my heart.
She was probably only a foster parent for money from the state to take care of the child.
These are my thoughts exactly. If she had reported the dangerous environment at her house, she loses Tricia and she gets cut off from the ‘gravy train’.
Well he ended up killing her after that, so no more $ for foster mom for Patricia.
Obviously they all knew he did it. Trash.
This is perfect. I listen to these cases while mowing the lawn and I was JUST getting ready to mow. Thanks for all you do. :)

Poor kid didn't have a safe place to live
And her foster sisters didn't help
She felt very alone
But I hope she is with God now
The lottery in my state allows you to scan losing tickets for points. I don't know if it's the same for every state, but I used to save up to purchase items basically for free since my sister in law worked in a gas station and most people would just leave the losers behind or give them to her. One of the things you could purchase was a DNA kit. I was interested in my genealogy but also wanted to add my profile just in case it could help in one of these cases. It feels like a win/win.
i’m in the public health field taking particular interest in injury & violence prevention. these cases shed a lot of light on larger societal issues. violence isn’t just costly for the victims.
Amazing that Maureen's case was solved 50 years *to the day*
50 is just a number.

@@sleazyyyy Hi there alt account.
Excellent work, for you to make such an amazing video about such current events. I really love your content. I’m glad that all these cases finally got some closure.
Patricia's case was the saddest to me. Her killer thought she was disposable, in a way she was. No one fought for her.
It's wonderful that after so many years, with new technology, these victims and their families will get justice.
That last case was upsetting. They couldn't figure out that the man who found her and was the only man in the household was the perpetrator? Did they even try?
Thank you for sharing the closure of these cases with us. Families don't always get that.
Yes, too bad it took 50 years. Other than that, it doesn't mean anything.
It sounds like Maureen had a rough life from the beginning.
With 6 other siblings, I doubt her parents had time or energy to try to reign her in or offer much guidance. She probably didn't like having so much parental responsibility dumped on her at such a young age and thought marriage at 16 was a way out. I was about the same age in the early 1970s. I'll just say my life at that time and my decisions were totally different than that of Maureen's.
Thank you for bringing in these cold cases to light. I love when cold cases are solved!!!
I have lived my entire life basically in a small town in New Mexico called Bernalillo (pronounced burn-ah-leo) we have maybe 3 or 4 murders a year anyway when I was in 6th grade there was a murder of a girl that was bout 5 or 6 years older than me named Yolanda Medina she was found murdered floating in a ditch kind of behind my house and it was on the local news for a long while and was never solved. Fast forward 20 years later I ended up becoming friends with one of her younger brothers who is about 3 yrs older than me and I never directly asked him about what he knew about it because I never wanted to bring something like that up but one night the subject came up and he didn't too into it but he told us that he and his family believed that either the local police department either was covering things up or one of the police at the time was directly involved or both and we thought he was only frustrated and didn't know who else to blame but now thinking to myself the police to this day will go out of their way to fuck with him and it got so bad that his parents moved and the cops would constantly look for bullshit reasons to arrest him and keep him in jail for months I mean like 11 to 13 months for a fucking speeding ticket and I mean as soon as he was finally released not 4 hours later would they arresting him again for another bullshit charge or warrant. And to me thinking about it now it's like their intimidating him to keep his mouth shut do u think u can look into it and see if you can find out anything more than what the news would say thank u
Good luck in your efforts. It's obvious the police were and likely still are, covering up one of them or someone powerful enough to get away with murder. A third party such as Heavy Casefiles may help bring the case alive again.
And to hell with punctuation and grammar too!
@@udonenomee2117 don't be such a snob.
It's very telling that this woman is reaching out to help her friend and all you can do is make sarcastic comments about her grammar.
I've heard so many stories of small towns being corrupt. More than likely your friend's family is correct and the people (or someone connected to them) who are supposed to serve and protect their community are somehow involved with her murder. I do hope one day your friend will get justice for his loved one.
how come federal government is not stepping in ? cant family domehow demand or petition for local police to hand the cade to federal government?
Imagine getting away with murder for 50 years!!! 🤯
I love your videos and your voice ❤️. Thanks for informing us
The foster care system is horrendous.
The last case of Patricia Moreno was possibly the most shocking, a young woman of colour, in foster care, let down by birth parents, then by her foster carer, her siblings, then the police at the time, and by the eyewitness.
Serious question, what does her skin color have to do with anything and why bring it up? You didn’t mention that her killer also happened to be a person of color. All the other victims were white so white people are murdered as well. But seriously, what the hell does her skin color have to do with anything? It’s to a point in this country where everyone has been reduced to the color of their skin. They were all victims no more and no less because of their skin color.
Victims of color get less media attention, and less effort into the case by law enforcement.
Luv Ur Channel and when U do solved cold cases🥰💕Thanks So Much🤘💙
Yaaay, new episode! Always enjoy to watch. Thank you ;)
So glad you came on today!! 😇💞
It's always frustrating to hear that killers get to live their lives well into their old age, but I am glad there is some closure
I truly love your voice dude. It’s so perfected for this kind of avenue 🙏👌🙌 great rhythm, timing, delivery and tone
Dude?
My favorite narrator
Keep up the good work!! Love the videos
i live in malden and i have not heard anything about this case until you reported it here... shocking considering how recent it was. sad to hear the sister had died of COVID. she could have asked for immunity. they would have cared more about prosecuting him than her original testimony
Perjury is a crime, however I seen many cases were the homicide detectives would ask the DA to ignore lesser crimes to get someone to talk. The detectives know that often the witness is afraid of the killer and is does not want to be killed themselves.
Sorry, cannot an iota of sympathy for the dead sister; she perjured herself and protected a murderer for decades. Seems like karmic justice to me, well overdue.
Malden Massachusetts?
The audio quality is wonderful and the music is at the perfect volume, my one concern is that your voice sounds rather strained, are you making sure to take care of it? The health of ones vocal cords cannot be overstated in this kind of channel. May i suggest you please keep a warm drink besides your microphone when you record next time? I'd hate to hear your voice degrade in quality from overworking it.
Her voice is always like this, she's got a normal little growl on her low tones.
I was rather refering to the cracks that rise in note for a split moment, it honestly sounds like shes going to start crying any moment. I'm just looking out for her, i don't want a persons voice to be shot when their content depends on it.
Tricia was let down by everyone, it's absolutely vile.
I do find these cold cases so satisfying. It's awful that they go cold and the killers get to live out their lives but they don't get away with it ultimately and will face justice in the next world too.
The second case had a really strange ending.
Yeah it did. Im betting the brother that got tested in Oregon let the cat out of the bag that the police came to his house to get a DNA sample related to this case. The two brother argue and fight about it then... the killer got ahold of a gun and killed himself. That seems to be the most likely scenario to me.
Doesnt matter what the content is, i click the like button as soon as i get here 💜
People are so stingy with the like button on TH-cam, and I have no idea why. I always press like on everything I view, unless I forget. But thousands of people will view something and not like it. Tells you how many jerks there are in the world.
Thanks for your hard work.🙂
To think how heavily Patricia'a murder must have weighed on the one sisters mind, that she could never let go what she knew.
What is done in the dark will come to the light
This killer will be brought to justice

This video was excellent- you totally did your homework and it shows! Thank you.
Love this channel
It really bothers me when they die before they are discovered to be dark sinister slime. He lived to be 94 so he probably did it again. Respected and loved by his family. A real pillar of the community and contribution to society. Lol writing the script.
Just sayin the worst are always considered the best. No one wants their heroes tainted.
Trust no one.
Trisha's foster mother knew that the boy was a problem, but let him stay? That county did not vet foster parents very well. This should not have happened.
Fantastic as always!
Hearing more and more about people who have died from Covid-19 in these true crime shows. Really brings it home.
Poor Patricia was failed by everyone! That family is horrible

Do you ever notice these stories never state that the male had or had not been sexually assaulted. Boys and men are assaulted at a much higher rate than the public would imagine. When stories like this one regularly don't even verbally reference that the male was or wasn't assaulted it never allows the public to even imagine that was a possibility. Sexual assault is generally about power and control and not so much having a high libido, so it would be possible for a male aggressor to also force a man, for example, to perform orally or be shot. Sometimes that is done to humiliate the man in front of the female, which can be arousing to the aggressor. When the police fail to state there was no evidence of sexual assault/sodomy with the male victim it, as said above, completely omits the notion or reality that this does occur. In this case, for example, the scenario I stated could have happened with semen on the male victim's body, or found orally with a swab. That could have been matched as the same rapist, or even identiefied an unknown 2nd male assailant in the case.
To be honest I don’t even think they conduct rape examinations on male decedents.
And they should.
Not only male victims who have died , but those who are living as well.
In some cases with women it’s almost assumed that she was s assaulted.
But nobody ever assumes the same for males.
*And many assailants get away with these crimes because of it.*
It’s very sick and very troubling.
I think about this often in cases of missing children -especially young boys.
Why?
Bc they deserve justice too.
Who knows what they’ve gone through?
And who’s gotten away with it Bc of these sexist presumptions?
Sad.
Great 📸!!! AMEN 🙏🏾✌🏾☝🏾💯. Yeah he is suffering. And he is gonna keep right on suffering too. 'Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord." Rip to the victim and her family. Peace be unto you.

Prolly not the best idea before bed but here we are.
Haha me too
Far too brief and violent a life, poor Maureen was married and murdered at the tender age of 17.
A common theme in the lives of many women.
Spending one single day a week to solve a crime is hilariously useless like sorry I couldn't solve that sooner but I really didn't think it was worth spending more than one day per week on. I get he was retired but what kind of person just stops working on something like that without finishing it just because they're not getting paid anymore??
5:34 '' In 2000 sex ? '' that what she said ? lol
I love the narrators ashy voice!
You should do a series about cold cases being solved NOT by DNA, but by other methods/evidence/confessions.
Thank you for the new video!
I deeply appreciate these videos
Waiting for this ❤♥️
This is the problem. Parents let the children rule.
If my daughter threatened to leave the home and never speak to me again if I annulled her marriage I would laugh and tell her she can start at that moment.
Eventually she would come around and realize it was all talk.
Children are manipulative and I don’t understand how parent(s) succumb to such manipulation.
If you get involved in your child's marriage you deserve to be cut off
Thanks for sharing
More brilliant reporting!
The narrator has a an interesting strain to your voice . Almost like a girl doing a Jordan Peterson impression
Im finding it hard to listen to.like shes running out of breath.
Why did they wait until so late to run the DNA of Maureen's killer?
I am glad that these are solved.
Thanks for the updates. Have a great week. Hugs

Thank you hope in our individual unsolved cases.
Not even a pic of Maureen's killer, who lived to 94. Damn.
If this husband of Maurine was not in jail she would have never been there
Maureen obviously made some very bad choices in her life, including who she married at age 16, but then her home life with her parents and siblings wasn't ideal, either.
Your voice is relaxing 😌
