these three people lost their lives to killers, and, for a time, lost their names. these three john and jane does were not immediately identified, but their cases would finally be solved decades later. it would take decades of work by investigators, but these three individuals were finally identified in 2021. two of the three still need help, for their killers to be identified as well.

It happens, but it’s rare with you.
Imagine thinking your missing relative didn’t want anything to do with you anymore. It has to be heartbreaking.
True. Tho i know - it'd be one I wouldn't care to have contact with any longer. and try not to.
And then finding out - DECADES later - that they'd been killed by an infamous serial killer just months after you last spoke with them.
I guess thinking that is what stopped them from filing missing persons reports but as a Mother I would need to hear it from their own mouths (that they wanted nothing to do with me). Otherwise I'm filing!
It is very heartbreaking 💔 💔💔
To be fair, some families frickin suck. I fantasize about moving cross country and having zero contact with my immediate family but i dont want to put my dog and cats through a move like that.
Hopefully the boy in the box will be identified soon it's getting closer and closer until that case is finally cracked from what I've heard about it recently.
this is the case I can’t wait to see identified and another one is the dna found on JonBennet Ramsey
I don't think you can know that a case is getting closer to being cracked, even if you're the detective. Especially with the surprises DNA testing gives. Predicting when a case will be solved is like predicting when a light bulb will burn out.
They’ve finally identified him as Joseph Augustus Zarelli ❤
@@MK-ge2mh not really. They had DNA results and they were narrowing it down. And guess what? He was right. At the time of that comment, they were just a few months away from cracking it, so it turned out.
@@bdmc6583 I'm glad that I was wrong. That "Boy in the Box" case was terribly disturbing. I was very happy to hear that he was identified.
I'm glad the investigator in the Jane Arroyo Grande Doe case was able to see it through- at least inasmuch as the victim has been identified. Now if we could just uncover the bastard responsible.
Here in Philadelphia, the Lisa Todd case came to light last Spring. She was a pregnant 17 year old who had gone missing in the early-80's.
For decades, a Jane Doe, discovered in the mid-80's, a few years after Todd disappeared, went unidentified. Forensic recreations of her face were created several times, but nothing panned out.
We now know that Jane Doe is Lisa Todd, from the Frankford neighborhood of northeast Philadelphia. It was a big deal here when the news broke last Spring. The case kind of breaks my heart, but I'm heartened she was finally given her name back. For more than 30 years no one knew.
If we could just catch the bastard responsible for what was done to her now too...
How on earth would the police know where a Jane Doe was born, but not her name? That wasn't a serious question was it? No, her body was found on Arroyo Grande Road in Henderson, Nevada The area has since been developed and the road name has been changed to Arroyo Grande Boulevard.
@@AnotherWittyUsername. Dorothy meant where the body was 'from' or located; not where she was born.
@@diannew6066 Tammy Terrell's body was recovered in Henderson, Nevada. In life she hailed from Roswell, New Mexico. Dorothy heard the name Arroyo Grande (The name of the street in Henderson that Tammy was found on) and had a brain-fart all on her own. Perhaps she was only half-listening to the program and made assumptions. Perhaps you were too since you seem to be defending her assumption.
John Williams was really out here just never giving up, SO GLAD to hear he was alive and well for the idenitification
Your pleasant voice, detailed dialog, and meticulous presentation all come together beautifully.
I do agree, she has a perfect voice for this. She doesn't take a certain side to each case, she has a perfect ability to be neutral in her presentation.
@@timothygeiger437 I can't fully agree, she always sounds as if she's gonna cry, it is very annoying as in some parts of videos she's talking fine and neutral and then all the end parts of her words sound like sobbing.
Omg I feel so bad for the mom that just knew her son was one of Gacy's victims, but couldn't get a hold of his dental records, so that left that small chance open for him to still be alive
They weren't even looking for Wayne they didn't even know he would be dead. That's sad all the way around.
Wow! I didn’t get to hear his whole story! That’s so sad.
For some reason his family didn’t reported him missing during those 45 years
Poor Tracy. I'm always so sick & tired & mad to the roots of my hair when families report a child (especially a girl) missing and police brush it off saying (as in this case), "OH, don't worry, she'll be 18 in a year (SHE'S STILL A MINOR FOR 52 WEEKS!!!),she probably just ran away..."
Yeah, and that's what always happens, huh?
She was 17 and probably had more street smarts than most by her age. Poor girl had no real family, as her biological family was either too abusive or neglectful to keep her, or she was too rebellious to control. Either way, she ended up in a group home and those are absolute jokes; no supervision, the girls come and go as they please, no work or school requirements, no structured environment, just another social service scam where they pay people to push paper and do nothing. When the girls leave and fail to return, the supervisor or case worker just files a police report to cover their behinds and dump it on law enforcement. This happens constantly, as the girls are always leaving without permission to go stay with boyfriends, friends, or even the supposed abusive family they couldn't live with in the first place. Realistically, the case worker who dropped Tracy and the other girl off was responsible for them; she should have stayed with the girls but, instead just left them there.
Me too, although in this case I think it made sense. And I also wonder why she was in foster care and a group home if she had family.
@@TXPeter
You must have been pretty busy checking (all) group homes to be able to make that statement.
I helped start one and lived in it during the 90s. Each person had chores that changed each week and was able to come and go once probation period was over. Each also was a 'board member'', this having other responsibilities that they were held accountable for by the residents. A meeting a week could expel them if there were issues. No drinking or drugs.
I've been in similar homes since then. Being non profit, most are run very well. It was one of the best experiences in my life.
I sincerely hope folks that read that part of your comment do not believe every group home is as you described.
I'm so sorry that is how you experienced them all.
@@GottaWannaDance Your account of that experience is how the program should be run. Maybe back in the 90s that was how things were done but, I can tell you from first hand account, working with those group homes, at least in the network located in a major U.S. city, they are not run like the home in which you participated. Residents with multiple arrests, including battery against another residents and staff, were never expelled. It is mostly a pre-welfare program that transitions the girls to into full subsidized living and assistance. They don't kick anyone out of the program because they need "clients" to keep funding. And btw, most of these non-profits are anything but- they get plenty of cash from the taxpayers via government grants, not including private donations, and pay their administration very well. Maybe you worked for one of the few legit operations, but most are social service cash cows for those at the top of the organization and the government bureaucrats that oversee them.
@@TXPeter
I hear ya. They preach helping all, yet it's all about the money Lebowski. The well working model we were in provided plenty of cash to cover bills and even a picnic or two, inviting all the neighbors. Many showed and realized we weren't a drug house.
No one profited except us by maturing in a clean and sober environment AND the neighborhood who could always count on some of us to help the elderly or with storm damage, or major flooding one year. Shovelling snow.
Just thinking about it as I respond, I really miss that place.
Thanx for your response Peter.
I love hearing that victims in cold cases are identified. So sad and heartwarming to give these families answers.
Thank you for another level-headed, well-produced video. You are one of the few True Crime YT creators that I follow. So many other people go for shock factor and a way to exploit someone else's tragedies and make it about themselves.
Exactly! I won't name names, but you can tell by the other "so called" YT true crime channels, it's all about money to them. Danielle Hallam is one of the worse ones, in my opinion.
@@timothygeiger437 She's revolting. I'm a deputy coroner in my daytime job, so I take depraved and exploitative behavior like that of the "charming" lady you've mentioned as an insult to the dead, the affected families/friends, as an affront to my profession. Cheap/poorly applied makeup combined with cheap/sociopathic personalities should stop disrespecting the dead and crawl back into their corners with all of those other hedonistic gimmiepigs.
Makes me appreciate the likes of Heavy Casefiles, Criminally Listed, Dark Curiosities, and Kirsty Skye all the more.
Thank you so much for your content. My ex- husband's aunt went missing when she was around 14 and no one in the family has ever heard from her. So, I am always happy when families get closure they need.
The couple Tammy Terrell was seen with in that Denny's could've been Gerald and Charlene Gallego. CA is not that far from NM, and they were also known to have killed women and girls in OR and NV. Tammy would've died about a month before the Gallegos were arrested for the murders of Craig Miller and Mary Elizabeth Sowers (Nov 2, 1980). Tammy resembles some of Gerald Gallego's known victims, and he killed most of them by bludgeoning.
Apparently Charlene is still alive. Police should pay her a visit.
Yes, I had heard before that they were likely suspects. I think Charlene isn’t even in prison anymore. They hung it all on Gerald even though she wad equally complicit
Finally DNA is giving victims thier name back from murder, or just disappearing. As usual you have done amazing work for the victims who lost thier life's in unfortunate circumstances. I am glad DNA can bring criminals to justice but also bring victims of unfortunate circumstances thier name back. Thank you for your amazing video
So glad that they were able to give answers to the families. It's so incredibly sad that they were murdered and dumped like that. They all deserved better.
It takes a _really_ special kind of person to lay to rest, an known victim. Without wanting or needing restitution for the task. These people are _all_ someone's baby boy or baby girl. A favourite little sister, that use to get on your friggin' nerves when you were kids. A big brother who scared off your bullies, but still pretended he hated you in public. Cause he had a "reputation to keep" in his _grade_ school. And... almost always, someone's most _bestest_ friend in the _whole_ wide world. A great compassion noticed & appreciated by all of us. Whomever you sweet earth angels may be, thank you.💕
It’s great that the unidentified can finally be named.
I never thought there would ever be a resolution to jane arroyo grande doe's case. I was a teen in the early 2000s and this was one of the first jane doe cases I had seen and it broke my heart. I'm in my 30s now and have checked on the case every now and then hoping for a lead. I stopped everything I was doing when I saw her picture on your video! I am an avid fan of yours and how you treat victims in your videos. I'm so, so glad I got to hear the news of her identification from a kind person like you.
I hope they find her killer/killers. I hope there's some semblance of closure for her family.
I don't know why Gacy and Dahmer have always bothered me so much more than other SK's but they do. Maybe it was the brutality and the way they disposed of their victims but I'm happy these guys are getting their names back. I know as a parent worrying about your kids just going off to college is tough but years without knowing would almost be unbearable.
Yea it's always non suspicious if your husband goes missing and you wait two months before you report him missing! 🙄🤯🤯
Very little communication in Alaska back then.
Thank you for bringing us these updates!
Great that they finally have their names back after all these years.
I think the other Gacy unidentified victims will also be from out of state from families that didn't report them missing.
Yep, especially since he lured them by promising construction work. They were guys who needed jobs, probably financially struggling and picking up odd jobs. He would tell them he had some construction work for them, and they were of course happy to pick up a job. Deceitful SOB.
I lived 3 hours east in Michigan and I think 2 of his victims were from my hometown. Chicago is a cross road with Michigan/Indiana /Wisconsin (and Ohio is relatively close)being very close
@@roguedalek900 were the 2 known to have gone to Chicago? The detectives have asked family members to contact them if they had a male go missing from the 1970s.
It will be a great thing when every last Gacy victim is identifed. Hopefully that will be soon.
Your murder/ missing people's videos are a great production I look forward to everyday. Your voice is perfect for this type of work. Between quality and your voice, I can't wait for the next video. Thank you!
I'm glad these families were able to get some answers. I won't say closure...Not everyone can achieve that even with the answers they seek. But hopefully some measure of peace.
These are my favourite uploads. And as always your respectful presentation makes this among my favourite channels.
Yay! Your videos are so well produced that I can't help but get drawn into each story.
You have a very kind voice and a gift for delivering less than good news in a way that provides Hope and Comfort. Thank you.
You have the most beautiful voice. I look forward to your videos. Thank you for bringing these cases from the darkness to the light. ♥️
This is incredible that these victims, at least, get their identity back, but still so heartbreaking .TY for the video
Thank you for the video!!!
🎄Happy Holidays heavy casefiles 🤗
I find it suspicious that Michael's wife waited two months to report him missing.
maybe it's because Alaska is so isolated and she wanted to give some time? Or even that any time he made the trip to Seattle he stayed there for a month or so?
Looking at Wayne's smile, it just makes me hate Gacy even more. He seemed so full of life.
I wonder why his family never reported him missing
@@schakiarligonde1736 I'm sure back then, there were many reasons someone wouldn't. Especially if they told the family they were leaving and never stated if or when they planned to return.
@@schakiarligonde1736 I think she talked about this in the video
I absolutely love that the second person was is one of Gacy's victims, I watched a documentary on people who are positive that their children were one of his victims and it has to be so hard to not know, and I think it's amazing that this has been discovered, and I hope that this kid's family was one of those that was desperately wanting to know but didn't yet
The detail that you give in these videos are superior the almost every channel I watch and I watch too many
I’m really happy that by utilizing DNA techniques these J. Doe’s are slowly being identified.
I can't imagine the hell that was down Gacy's crawlspace as found by the detectives...
During the late 70's, a close friend of mine was a friend of one of Gacy's victims. I remember when they found him and the others in that Des Plaines (?) crawl space..
It was then that I realized there were other rotten b@stards out there just like my father.
On occasion I think about those boys and their families as I do with other Heavy Casefilies stories.
And then I cry.
Please, continue to bring these to light.
Excellent content!
I am glad that they have their identities back. Bless their families. I hope that these crimes are solved in the lifetimes of the families.
I could listen to your voice forever...
It is good their families finally have answers, Sad answers. But now they know what has happened to their missing loved ones and hopefully, they can find some peace now.
I hope you have a very happy Christmas casefiles girl ;)
Really pleased about Tammy being identified amongst these two 🙏🌈💐
You tell a good story ❤️
Thanks So Much for Another Awesome Video🤘
Thank you ! I was starting to get "Heavy Case Files" withdrawals!
RIP Tammy, Michael, Bill, Jimmy, and Wayne.

Thanks HC❤️✅
Weird it took the first guy's wife 2 months to report him missing.
Makes u think she had something to do with her husband's death
She made out like a bandit selling his business I'm sure
@Kipper Knickerz I get that, but they did have landline phones back then. Most people would have called their significant other once they arrived to let them know they were ok. It doesn't take 2 months to drive from AK to Seattle.
@Kipper Knickerz In 1979 everyone I knew had a landline phone. I didn't get my first cell phone until '97 or 98. Regardless, 2 months is sus. I'm not accusing her, I just think it seems like a long time to report him missing. Maybe he needed to sign papers in person. He should have been there and back in like a week or so, if he was going to handle a business transaction.
I like orange juice
@Kipper Knickerz 1979 is not 1879, home phones were the norm and truckers called home almost daily when they parked for the night or on arrival. Two months is totally unacceptable, two weeks is quite the stretch too, two days would be max. Only she can answer that question and no doubt the police asked her. I think the wife knows what happened to her husband
Absolutely love your voice
We all love her voice ❤
I love ur channel and ur voice smmm😭😭 and the background music just ughh ur channel gives me small town vibes Lol if that makes sense I love it
Amazing as always
Thank you hcf ❤
The bust for Wayne/victim 5 is excellent.
thank you
Thanks HC❤
So there's 4 Gacy victims that still are unidentified. I hope soon we can close the case because they are all identified and the families will finally have answers.
That was a helleva job - well done!
Altho the subject is not of a positive nature - the ability for some families to place long lost relatives into a timeline where they can finally know their story’s end is obviously a great gift
Fantastic presentation 🔥🔥
Another great video
Thanks, SG.
I suffer from depression and anxiety and searching and watching true crime helps me I want to play hunter killer so bad it suck that have 0 money I wish I had the money to get the game
It's good that these Does have finally been identified but their killers got away with murder except for couple of them.
Who waits two months to report someone missing???
HOW is there 30 women Jane Doe could possibly be that were all eliminated... there must be a TON of unidentifiable corpses that get found. Horrifying.
I really love your videos. I'm big into DNA and genealogy so please keep the forensic genealogy videos coming! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and God bless you and your family!
That last one.... i read about that a few days ago put out by Roswell Police Department. Its sad 😥
Just a matter of time for all of them to be ID'ed
Honor and Respect ⭐
I am so happy thinking that the murderers of these victims (if alive) are now shivering at the thought of them being apprehended soon. I am so happy that we have such advanced technology.
The miracle of Familia dna testing whether private, personal or professional has blown the ID industry sky high! ❤
Michael's wife didnt report her husband until two months later? That doesn't sound right.
There were two teens that were abducted from the State Fair in Oklahoma in the early 80s. Connected?
The fact that Wayne's family never looked for him :/
Wait, anthropologist says in 1989 body had been on the beach 1 year.
Man went missing in 1979… ??
I believe he said AT LEAST a year.
Beautiful children, so tragic.
It's so sad it took Jane doe 41 yes to be identified, and the dude 21 years that sad and mind boggling.
Great work as usual....just very cofused....who's Tracy ?
Those poor families.
I like this channel, but I hesitate before watching as I find the stories sad and horrific.
The murderers know exactly who killed this 17teen year old
The other girl who was with at the fair did she say who the girl went with
How did they get separated
@ Belinda Hawkins
If my memory serves me well ( on another channel) it stated Tammy wished to stay a little longer. At the sighting at the restaurant she was in the company of a man & a woman, but nothing beyond that.
@@lynnhexler-haan3357
But these two girls came together to the fair
When did they separate? Why did they separate? How long had it been since the girl had been scene
The only person that could answer that is the girl she left with
The girl knew to meet at such and such time for the pick up to go back to the foster care
Maybe the girl ditched her as soon as she could
The girl Did what ever she wanted
Her lack of mother and father allowed these criminals to prey upon her

This is the craziest video I've ever seen, what a monster that guy was. Now I have to Google what happened to him, I hope he was locked up & didn't die first.
The first case it’s obvious the “business” partner killed him.
Please consider turning the down the volume of your background music. It’s extremely distracting and drowns out your voice.
I was having an anxiety attack until I turned on your video and heard your voice. I know that is not your intent I making these videos. But thank you anyway
DNA does it again. It should be mandatory that DNA swabs be taken at birth and documented.
.
I agree!
Neonatal screen testing is done on every infant at birth in a lot of western countries. Kept on record for 28 years in Australia. Already used to identify one murder victim in Australia. Khandalyce Pearce. RIP baby girl.
She reported him missing 2 months later?
yeah that seems a bit sus unless maybe she thought he left her
DNA is a god send imagine the crimes that would be lost to time 🇬🇧
It's Sad Enough That Horrendous Murders Happen But It's Truly Sad When The Victims Are A Jane Doe Or John Doe It Could Take A Few Week's Or Months Or Year's Too Find Out Who Theses Poor Soul's Are But I Hope And Pray They Can Find There Way Back Too There Family's May They Be At Peace 🙏
So his wife waited two years to report him missing?
