Why mom's mouth and eyes keep keep light trough the body is shy a cardboard thing? Why the hatch open down, not up

Nice eye, in fact, yes, not cardboard really but simple polygons, why made the light go through the eyes and mouth? If not, it wouldn't be easily conveyed her anger and that she was the one speaking.
Also, why it opens down?, Because you move your lower jaw when talking, not the upper mandible, I felt that it was better that way.

@@flipfreak14 you are correct, and it opens down because If I recall correctly, Boss trapdoors open down instead of up, but the Four Souls Card shows a trap door opening up, so, I kind of made it work both ways.
