    Great video.. I personally love the pops and bangs and the fact that you really can control when it pops and when it doesn't

    MonkeyB, I just spoke to Chris, via email, and asked him if he was able to flash the 2022/2023 Triumph Rocket 3R. He can't do the flash at this time, but hopefully in the near future he'll be able to flash the Rocket 3R...

    Just had my T7 flashed mate plus Dyno. Feels like I’ve started running a much higher octane fuel. Really nice and clean plus just a big increase in torque low down the rev range. Definitely worth the effort 👍🏼😎

    The pops/bang option is LOUD. I was there when he had my Hay Bus on the dyno and it was loud loud loud. I opted out of the pops/bang thang. Guess I'm getting old. Great video as usual.

    Monkey Butt: Have you ever thought about flashing the ECU with BT Brentune? If so, I wonder how or where the Brentune would connect?

      I haven't considered that. At this point I would only be interested if it fixed the stupid QS.

    Disconnecting that O2 sensor I decided to do an oil change too. I also installed my T-rex frame sliders since I had those side panels off. Taking those side panels off is a pain. I love the upgrade, now my Busa feels similar to my ZX14r .

    • @mjb2093
      @mjb2093 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I too installed the T-rex frame sliders. Question, is your slider post clearance on the right side of the bike far less than the left side? Like the right side post actually touches my bodywork. Wasn't too happy to discover that......

    • @rocket3man371
      @rocket3man371 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mjb2093 No mine are equal distance away from the panel. Its about a half inch away each side. Contact T-Rex support they are very good at replacing parts if you need it.

      @mjb2093 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rocket3man371 Yea, I actually already did that. They told me at Trex that they actually did a customer install of their sliders on a new Gen3 and had the same clearance issue I had. They offered to chamfer the right side post for me to give me adequate clearance......just waiting to get it back from them.

    There is surely a better way to stop water getting up under the seat, unless they also need it to vent. Weird.
    All in all not toooo bad to get it all done! Also very useful info on the run cycles. Be very interested to see how it is to live with over the next while :)
    I'd like pops and bangs once they weren't toooo much. Definitely can be over the top especially if you have neighbours and whatnot.
    Hahaha the cops were probably just enjoying it :P Yes, a useable tune is much more betterer :) Very nice video good sir.

      Yeah I thought the foam covers were the weirdest thing, I was like WTF is this??? Lol, I think the way Chirs Moore tunes it, the pops and bangs are not to intrusive I mean if you are over 6k on a busa you are starting to haul ass. Thanks 😁 GorillaBiker

    Great video man! I've also got a 2022 Busa and curious about this flash mod and your opinion after you get a few good hard rides in.
    Chris at Moore Mafia showed the stock throttle map wont give full throttle until 5000 rpm, and I believe his flash now fixes that.
    If that is right you should notice a big difference giving it full throttle from low revs like 2000 rpm. It's the only part of my bikes performance I dont like, it feels just a bit gutless until it gets up around 5000 then it goes nuts.

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you sir! Someone else has also asked the same question, I haven't gotten to ride again since I filmed this video. Snowy and cold here in CO right now. I agree it should feel snappier down low and I feel like it is but need more than one quick ride around town. I may make another quick video as a follow up once I get more time under the belt with the new flash or just post something on the community page, but I'll let you know my thoughts once I've ridding a bit more.

    You are following the same mod progress that I'm planning. Thanks for showing the ECU removal. That's crazy easy. I wish you would have got into more details regarding the bike feel post-flash. It seemed like maybe you were underwhelmed at the result. I want to do that after my exhaust to correct the fueling but I'll be very unhappy if I lose any of the smoothness of the stock bike. How does it feel now that you've had the flash for a while?

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว

      Due to weather and some other factors I haven't been able to ride much since I made this video and I can't really say, let me get some more time under my belt with the new flash and I'll let you know.

    Hey man question: you mentioned that you tied the O2 sensors to an existing wire housing, did you install those wire housings yourself to purposely plug the O2 sensor’s ends, or is that something that comes within the bike from the factory? (Excuse my ignorance, man lol I’m starting to work on my bikes myself now and still got a lot to learn) thank you in advance!

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After I unplugged the o2 sensor under the tank (right side sitting on the bike) I Zipp tied both ends to an existing wire housing that was right above the o2 sensor wires just so they weren't dangling around, the other o2 sensor is already pretty tied up. And yes the wire housing I Zipp tied the loose o2 sensor wires to is stock from the factory and should be on all gen3's

    Since you have had this flash for a while now, what is your current view of it? Would you recommend it? I have the gen 3 , have heard different opinions about the MM ECU flash for it and would like to know yours. TY

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว

      For me, the biggest difference I can feel is the throttle response. The bike is very snappy and responsive compared to stock. Overall, it is not a life altering experience, and it doesn't fix the QS issue. For the Busa I would describe the MM flash as more of a refinement. Would I recommend getting it? Depends on what you are looking for. If you are expecting big gains and a fix for the QS issue (if you are experiencing QS issues) you will be disappointed. It does neither of those. If you are a drag racer, roll racer MM does raise the RPM limit and his dyno results showed a few more ponies on top so maybe it would be worth it but for me I don't care to much about those things.
      I do like MM and I had my ZX10R flashed recently and it's a whole different experience but it's also a very different bike. I would say go watch his videos and you will mostly know what you are going to get. Hope that helps.

    • @MonkeyButtRides

  • @CrusaderGeneral

    Do you feel its necessary to do a flash after full exhaust install on this bike? I'm still on the fence on that

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Filter/Pipe is going to lean the motor out. I don't know that I would say a flash is necessary but if you want the air/fuel ratio to be right a dyno tune is the best, but a flash will get it close.

  • @rollingchopsticks

    Is that a full exhaust or just the slip-ons? Did you change the air filter? My 2022 Busa has the Yoshimura slip-ons and I was wondering if it was worth getting a flash without getting a full exhaust. Plus that ECU flash will probably void any power train warranty. FJB 🖕🇨🇳

      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Full Exhaust and I did eventually go with a sprint p08 street version air filter and a MM flash. With just slip on's and street riding flash probably not worth it in my opinion.

      @@MonkeyButtRides Thanks for the quick response. I bought a used 2022 black and gold Busa last month with only 54-miles on the OD from a Suzuki dealer. The original owner had installed Yoshimura slip-ons that look and sound really good. I’m not taking it drag racing so I doubt that I’ll bother with the full exhaust. Just out of curiosity, can you disclose how much the flash cost? In my case, I agree with you and doubt that an ECU flash is worth it. I did spend about $2,600.00 on accessories and the dealer threw in the passenger cowl cover. I got the heated grips, color styled seat, T-Rex frame sliders, Suzuki front axle sliders, tank locking ring and small Suzuki tank bag, gold tank pad, luggage hooks, gold chain adjusters, gold aluminum oil filler cap, and gold wheel rim decals. The dealer also took care of that front brake master cylinder recall and you get a $100.00 gift card from Suzuki if it’s done before August 31, 2023. The weather has been cold and rainy in Chicago so I’m scheduled to pick up the bike some day next week. We need some of that globull warming that the communist demoncraps keep promising us. • @barackblows1942
      @barackblows1942 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MonkeyButtRides That’s not too expensive and you don’t have to mess around with a Power Commander. If I ever change to a full exhaust, then I’ll do the MM ECU flash. I just reached the 600-miles break-in on mine, so now I can switch from mode B to mode A and increase the rev limit from 5,500-rpm to 8,000-rpm. So far it’s been the best bike that I’ve ever owned. 😎
