    I dig these practical videos. It also convinced me that a Scottoiler or similar should be on order when I receive my black&orange in March.

      I only recently heard about Scottoiler's for the first time.

    I like the Motion Pro Slack Setter tool. You slip it on and move the chain to its extents. You don't have to be able to see it properly as there is a gauge on the tool. When tension is set properly, I use a BPA Racing slack adjuster for quick and easy setting of tension without the need of a measuring tool. I can't wait till I have to lube my chain. Probably gonna be a mess.

      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm going to have to look into the Motion Pro tool, didn't realize they made one. I always like to lube my chain after a ride while the chain still has some heat in it. I prolly said that in the video huh? 🤷‍♂️😁

      @@MonkeyButtRides You'll not be disappointed in it. They have a chain alignment tool that works flawlessly too. Clamps onto the sprocket and uses a steel rod that is parallel to the chain. You look down it and make them in line no guessing with the marks on the swing arm.

    Thank you for the very helpful video! My Busa is silver/red and I accomplished the first 5000 km on it last Sunday.
    One question: Do you measure the chain slack while the Busa is on the side stand (as written in the owners manual) or on the rear stand?
    Thanks! And I am curious about the fender eliminator!

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I check the chain slack on the rear stand, a bit easier to rotate the wheel versus trying to balance the bike on the side stand or move the bike to check multiple spots. The fender eliminator is proving to be more of a pain in the ass then I thought but all the details will be in an upcoming video, hopefully this coming Monday.

    Thanx man. What kind of mic are you using

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using lavalier mic made by Slint it's a 3 channel so you need an adapter and a Zoom F2 audio recorder. The F2 is sweet because it's so small nice for moving around the garage.

  • @TheGorillaBiker

    Looks like a similar amount of space to the CBF, and it is definitely a bit of a pain to do that. Great job explaining everything tho man :) It wouldn't stop me buying one anyway :D
    Do you notice the chain tension changes a lot when the axle isn't torqued to when it is?

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's not too bad really and will be as easy as all my other bikes before to long. I didn't experience that with the Busa but my YZ250 MX bike does that, I always adjust it a tad loose so it's not to tight after I torque the axle. Do you know why it does that?

  • @purdyman
    @purdyman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome Video - just what the doctor ordered. Can you not easily remove the one exhaust can, increasing access, and then put it back on upon completion?
    Or is there a gasket or something that would need replacing? I see what you are saying by taking your time and may take many adjustments to get a full swing with a wrench, a lot is in the way. Thanks a bunch sir.

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I think the most I would consider removing would be the left side heat shield. For me it wouldn't be worth it to remove a muffler. I would just turn the wrench a few extra times. I don't think there is any gasket, just mounting bolt and clamp is probably all there is. You are welcome sir! Happy to make the video!

      Your welcome 🙏 and thanks for the heads up. I find it difficult to find the tight spot with bike on the side stand some bikes are not so bad to tip over and spin the wheel but just wanted to play it safe on the paddock stand.

      On the 2022 Busa??? It's going to be a little bit before I do that, I don't have the miles for it yet. Sorry. I did it on my ZX10 but that isn't going to help you much on the Busa.

    Do you have videos changing the spark plugs on the Busa. I have a 23 Busa and it's about that time according to the manual

    My ZZR had dual exhaust and it’s easy enough to adjust the chain. Another simple job even I can do. I don’t have a torque wrench though so I just guess.

    @monkey-butt do you think ceramic wheel bearings is a good upgrade on a street driven busa. I am bout to buy one.

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the intent is to reduce rolling friction for highway pulls or drag racing here and there sure they will help. If you do get them I've been told to reduce the amount of torque on the axle nuts, how much IDK just a common theme I've heard about going with ceramic wheel bearings.

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not clean it every time, no. Maybe 500-700 miles between lubrication and tension check and clean when it's dirty. For me it's not dirty enough everytime.

      @@MonkeyButtRides Thank you for your quick reply! It would be nice to see how you tackle that on the Hayabusa. What cleaning tools/ methods you use and what you coat the chain with to prevent rust on the linkages. Even raising the Hayabusa up onto the paddock stand seems quite challenging. But perhaps you already have a video showing how to? Thanks again a 2022 Hayabusa owner.

      I'll throw together a video on what I use to clean the chain and how I put it up on the paddock stand. The busa is heavier and a bit more of challenge over my other street bikes. I've been sick last couple of weeks so I've fallen behind on content but I'll do it.

    The manual says check the chain slack while the bike is on the sidestand. Does it matter?

    • @MonkeyButtRides
      @MonkeyButtRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does indeed say that, but I never check the chain slack on any of my bikes on the side stand. Street or Motocross. The main reason is you can't find the tight spot of the chain on the side stand very easily. The second reason is I usually check the chain slack when it's time to lube it (roughly 600 miles or so) and lubricating the chain on the side is hard on a big heavy street bike. For me the difference in chain slack on the side vs. a paddock stand is not enough for me to care.
