Bought my first CZ rim fire in 2002 (452) with the then brand new 17 HMR. It still shoots lights out. Since then I have bought a dozen more. 452, 455, 457…it doesn’t matter. They all shoot.
Been a CZ (Brno) fan for many years, have a whole bunch, my 457 with Hornady V Max 30 grainers will group under 0.7 and better at 100 all day, trouble is me🤔 the best it ever shot was 0.38 same ammo and distance, the Ceee Zeeee as you guys call them have always been superb, the model 457 just takes it to the next level. I have 3 rimfires from a renowned German manufacturer each costing nearly 3 times the cost of the 457 which as far as accuracy goes is almost as good and on many days better than our German units. Great segment, only joined a few weeks ago so still playing catch up👍
Cz has been very late to threaded barrels in the US market, but has offered threaded barrels for years in the European market. Their 455 and 527’s are awesome rifles. Can’t tell you how many I own. I just wish they didn’t change the twist in their 223 barrels and that they would go back to manufacturing a 22-250!
Agree with your comments on CZ rimfire, I have the CZ515 (512 in US) and it likes Remington JHP and PSP, same with CCI maxi mag JHP and PSP but is even more accurate and precise with Hornady Vmax (30gr 2200 fps). Did a thirty round test with this ammunition and got 0.2MRAD grouping at 100m (0.69 MOA). Best 5 round grouping was 0.66 MOA - no wind and with bipod. They are well made and have very good CHF barrels. Great bang for buck, the 600 series in 223 REM are also excellent.
That rifle is a tackholer! I have a heavy barrel CZ-453 in 17HMR and a CZ-452 Sporter in 22 Magnum and with the right load both will shoot MOA. The good thing about the 17HMR is that you just hold straight on at 100 yards and it shoots flat as a tack. Many thanks for sharing! 🙏
Wow! I have the same rifle in .22LR. Your groups at 100 look like mine do at 50! You're not wrong about the "bang for buck" with these rifles. These rifles have a genuine pedigree. They share their DNA with BRNO. Before my wife and I purchased ours, we spent a lot of time at our local club. The club owns 12 452's and all of them will deliver half inch groups or better at 50 yards. And they all have about 20k+ rounds through them and they are as good as new. These things sit right at the top end of town, in my opinion, but they don't break the bank.
Decades ago, I bought a CZ 22 Mag in Austin, Tx. It was an auto loader, with a shorter, and slimmer barrel. Gorgeous walnut stock, and it would plain shoot! Another great gun that I regret letting go. Back then, CZ was cheaper and not hard to find. Today, their pistols are higher than a cat's back. Dang it, Hoot, stop makin' us Jealous! 🤓
Yes..had one too and it was tackdriving awesome and never not one time did it have a malfunction, an it really is a real trick to make a semi-auto 22mag run.
I have the exact same rifle in 22lr. I took it to Nashville Armory and they threaded the barrel for me. Absolute tack driver and I love shooting it suppressed. Definitely worth it to have the barrel threaded.
I got a stainless Ruger American 22WMR. I have only sighted it in at 50 using an AGM TS19-256 thermal, so groups are not as precise as with a traditional scope, but it is 100% on raccoons so far. Hoping to test it further on a pig or coyote. The Ruger does have a threaded barrel.😊
I'm a big CZ fan boi but unfortunately don't own any CZ long guns. I'm also a fan of .22 mag and have a Winchester 9422 and Ruger Single-Six in that caliber!
I was debating between a CZ 457 and Ruger American. I went with the Ruger American in 22 mag. I was not disappointed in it. I was really surprised with the accuracy.
I had a CZ 452 American in .22 mag. With Remington Acutip V 31 gr. At 100 meters my 3 shot groups were under 3/4 inch. They are awesome rifles. I had a look at the CZ457. It is everything you could hope for.
That zoomie is mounted way up there on that one. CZ has been making inroads in its rifles. Their pistols are good, and their rifles are getting better.
Running a chronograph will help to identify weak rounds that could be fliers. I have seen up to 100 FPS variation in a box of ammo. This can be significant at 100 yards.
@@marks6290 Mine is the 783 made from 1971 until 1988. I have no idea what year mine is, but it has a nice walnut stock and a tubular magazine. I have a video or two on it on my channel.

I'm originally from Iowa and grew up close to where the Iowa River feed the mighty Mississippi. 22mag and a good English coon hound is no match for a cotton wood or a leafy oak.
I just love my CZ 455 wmr, but, over here in Norway its hard to find Remington in LR or wmr. Using winchester and cci mostly in 40 gr and have fine groups at 100 y/ meters. Thanks for nice and informative vids, keep up 😊
Well done young man great video and some exceptional groups. It just happens that I have me a cz457 chambered in 22 WMR and will be testing some of those very rounds you are using based on your great groups. Keep up the great work. P.S I like your new gun sled and table😉
Nice. Haven’t seen your channel in awhile. I’ve been hunting with CZ rimfire for quite awhile. I had to scrub one of my barrels down like a centerfire rifle and then it started shooting like a CZ should.
Excuse me Mr Who-tee....you NOT hitting the EXACT same hole at 100 yds....you need a 22 mag that shoots thru the same hole,,,,sooooo,,,,,I'll help you. Just send that set up to me and you get something else ...I will take excellent care of her while you search for something better. 😂😂😂 Oh,,,,and good luck finding something better LMAO 🤣😆. Thanks for another awesome video buddy and keep up the EXCELLENT work FOR ALL OF US.
well i am impressed new shooting vice shooting table cleaned up looks like its been painted whats next store bought targets "ha" as far as cz rimfires i expect those results and since remington has done whatever and their rimfire ammo is good again makes a great video and i like you took the time to explain wmr and mag its no shame not knowing we all have to learn at some point thanks
22mag is an awesome round. Have you ever herd of the 22 WRF ( also know as 22 special) I have an old pump action in the caliber. Fun lil gun hard to find the ammo tho
I’m still trying to find a 22-250 with a 1:12 twist. I’m not a savage fan and I can’t find a cva cascade in my state. They are the only ones I have found that offer that twist.
Man I just bought the CZ 457 Lux in 22 WMR of course. I’ve used the adapter on a non threaded bull barrel on my 17 to take my suppressor. They’re like $10 or so. I seriously just ordered it. Should have it by next Monday I would guess
I love my Cz 455 American! Bought it as a 22lr then I was able to track down a 17hmr barrel and the 22wmr barrel! Pick your poison and do a 2 minute barrel swap and your off 👍🏻
Impressive! I have never seen Remington shoot worth a flip. I know others say they have had good results, I have not. I bet if you run some good stuff through it would do better but impressive for an out of the box 22 Mag. Good medicine for Mr. Chicken Thief aka.. Mr. Coyote.
I see you can buy a CZ457 combo, where get two barrels, example a 22lr and a 17hmr. Do you know if each time you switch barrels do you also have to sight in the scope all over again?
I wish I lived closer to you, I’d bring my marlin n Ruger 22 mag n we could compare groups, I believe I could give you a run for the money with either of them !! Good shooting n video !!
Only place I’m gonna disagree with you is that putting a shusher on 22 magnum it’s kind of pointless. It’s super sonic and if you look for subsonic 22 magnum, good luck. And anyway at that point you might as well just be shooting 22.
I’m very fond of my CZ 457 in 17hmr but I should probably get a .22 mag barrel because the ammo is easier to find in my locale. Think it’s too much for squirrel?

22 mag known for inaccuracy but thr CZ defies that, very nice gun.
