with the way foundation are in ASA I kinda like having no foundation in the middle, because you can use it as a secret entrance by jumping in the drivers seat. most people assume its a 3x3 foundation setup and dont even check! In addition, the secret wall doors are OP for raft bases!
One thing to note with this all the structure pieces will be similar in size to Castles, Keeps, and Forts, so may not work as expected. Great vid though, the raft would be amazing in ASE! Thank you, I'll be looking forward to the ASA rework of this project! :)
Nice vid, Geat idea for early game taming! jus an FYI for rafts on the Island, remember the leeds will aggro your raft and destroy a wood one in a couple hits, metal, with a dozen more. Make sure to keep close to the shores or you might lose your hard work. These are going to be great for Rag n Center too
Now that the games out I've tried to figure out a way to enclose a raft completely in foundations like in ASE, while still having the foundations located slightly below its surface. The new construction system would be great for that, you can lift foundations up and down before placing them on a raft, but there are limits to that and apparently it is not possible to place them BELOW the rafts surface anymore. I've tried different approaches, but so far I haven't found a way. Ramps were a good way to accomplish different height levels which would otherwise not be possible. However that didn't help me to overcome the said limitation, as there were no snapping points below the rafts surface when I tried it. So if you want it as safe as possible you would now enclose the raft in foundations (as low as possible) and leave one hole (e.g. in the center) for entering and steering the raft. That hole can still be closed up with ceilings and walls which is at least something. Anyway, thx for that video Liama! Looking forward to more elegant solutions to my problem.
Another great video, personally the way I build up is a tame to get berries first, then a flyer (Most the time a Ptera but when I started again on official PVE just before they went offline the only thing I could keep alive was a Tapajar) and then go for a rex. Just like to have a Rex quickly to take out any Tickle chickens that might come near my base while building it (I lost about 20 tames to them last time before I got a rex including 5 Pteras)
One altercation I have made. The Top end or starboard end where the ramp meets the 3 walls high Ive deleted that and inserted a Dino Door Frame as per the next ArK game not having Cryo Pods. So you dont have to break a wall and rebuild. Hope that helps
I tried this and it doesnt work! after snapping the pillar in the middle it just let you place the foundations in the sides, not in the middle like shown!
Oh nice! I like the combination of the pit fall and argy trap ! Interesting! I will be using this! Nice job with the double knock out ! Id say the first sail of the S.S. LLama was a success lol What is your favorite tame in ark? And favorite name for your tame ?
You are right, there will be changes which mean tweaks will be required. There also may be changes to Dino AI or even changes to the size of Dino’s, what they can fit through or climb over which may mean all traps need to be redesigned or trapping in general may not work at all. We don’t know but I am excited to find out. What I am sharing here is what works now, it’s a good place to start from, nothing more.
Just needs a minor tweak, you can search for captain fatdog Argie trap asa and he has the new version. It actually requires less pieces. I’m going to do a new raft build video because the exact same build can be achieved with just a few changes. I’ve used it in ASA and it works great.
Yes, a few ppl have commented similarly. Ultimately there will be tweaks required for higher walls etc. plus a lot more than just the building will change with ASA and I'm excited to explore these changes but its likely that conceptually the approach will be similar. It doesn't hurt to have a base knowledge to start from.
sadly doesnt work with the new s+ piecesark added tried today, edit: you can rework it by removing the 3 ceiling to the front and bringing everything in one square! woohoo!💪
You are right, building will change but by how much? We will have to wait and see, all we have really seen so far is wall heights will be more like 1.5 their current height. Builds will need tweaking for sure but a little bit of pre-existing knowledge can’t hurt. I’m excited to find out how we adapt to the new system, it will make the game more challenging again.
for asa i recommend u guys to just make the cheapest trap that work for dodo to mana & for bigger do 4gate&1bear trap... for reaper add 4foundis... and dont do a raft that u will crry along the water & will get destroyed by the first animal that come from somewhere else , stop be a bob, if ur that into ark taht u look vid for trap for a game that prob wont work, then do it the right way ;)
hmmm ark ascended the most top secret classified game in the entire genre history of survival games, ya can't find game play, not even images of gameplay can be located, just a bunch of talk about the game right up to release day if it ever comes out this year
Dude, your channel is exactly what every gaming channel should be. Fun, educational, easy to understand, and pretty wholesome usually.
N made by a bob
Thanks, appreciate the kind feedback 👍
@esaugonzalez7240 we’ll all be bobs again soon enough 😂
Just built it and I am stoked to use it!

Hey Llama,
I just wanted to thank you for making all these cool video's man.
I've really been enjoying them leading up to ASA
Thanks for the kind comment, appreciate the support

Can't prepare if u don't know what changes are coming. They can make it that traps don't work on dinos with the new Dino path finding
I don’t think they would do that since trapping dino’s has always been a feature of the game
I agree changes will happen, tweaks will be required but what works currently is a good place to start
@@YDNO-they did it..
@@sethboutilierto what extent? Do you know a video that shows this? Do dinos no longer chase you up ramps or what? 😅

Yes, they will even take a raft with the sunk foundations, I know because I tested it 😂😂

Holy molly is amazing will building tonight... thanks mate 😊😊😊 love it Im new in ARK world but already love the game stunning looks❤❤
Did anything in the build change for ASA? ASA changed the way building works and lets you sink foundations without fences or pillars etc
Another great video, personally the way I build up is a tame to get berries first, then a flyer (Most the time a Ptera but when I started again on official PVE just before they went offline the only thing I could keep alive was a Tapajar) and then go for a rex. If you ride your Dino when you approach the explorer notes you both level up
One altercation I have made. The Top end or starboard end where the ramp meets the 3 walls high Ive deleted that and inserted a Dino Door Frame as per the next ArK game not having Cryo Pods. So you dont have to break a wall and rebuild. Hope that helps
Good news is, in ASA structures can be picked up, even on official pve 👍
They will probably still let you use ceilings to extend a raft's build limit to an extent, right? Right?
With improved dino pathing I wonder how useful a lot of traps will become
maybe they'll have to be bigger for them to not avoid it, we'll see
Trapping may not even work at all, some Dino’s in ASE cannot be tamed while trapped, you never know. Hyped to get into it and find out though.

What is your favorite tame in ark? And favorite name for your tame ?
Hmmm, my favourite tame is probably the Thyla, so versatile and fun too. I did have one once I named Drop Bear, Google it 😂👍
One leed: "I'm bout to ruin your day"
Gotta hug that beach, at least the coastline won’t be cluttered with ocean platforms, for a while anyway
Great video Llama! You definitely got my sub as a fellow Ark content creator.
Thank you, appreciate the support 👍
The building is going be different so how do you know this will be good for asa?
hmm cant place the second stone railing like this and the argentavis birds just flying through it
Aren't structures getting reworked and sizes changed ?I assume most traps other then a pit will have to be reworked

structures and item limits are 88 and 100. How many in total did you place?
2:52 86
so w the new dino pathing, doyou think this will still work?
I love it!
Thanks, appreciate the support 👍
Any chance the Argy trap still works with the changes to the construction system in Ark SA?
Just needs a minor tweak, you can search for captain fatdog Argie trap asa and he has the new version. It actually requires less pieces. I’m going to do a new raft build video because the exact same build can be achieved with just a few changes. I’ve used it in ASA and it works great.
I would lower walls over rudder and enclose for safety
Also, thank you for the video I sub and always like your vids
Thank you so much, appreciate the support 👍
Doesnt work in ASA. The pillar trick in the start is patched, and dinos dont step into the trap, they stop at top (pit one)
when is this game gonna be out
Before end of Oct is what Wildcard are saying and they are still on track apparently
Buildings being overhauled mate

Doing tuto for ASA building is pointless ! The build will be totally different
