This has been the most useful taming pen I've ever made. It beat out most of the pens I made in ASE as well. I placed two on the Red Woods river and one near the shore north of the Ice Mountain and got every dino I needed to get to the mid-game and make every kind of kibble. I even tested it on a Carcharodontus and it worked to trap it. The beast destroyed my stone one but, I'm making a metal version to trap it on a Motor boat now. Thanks, Llama!
Well done Llama. I figured out that already for the foundations. I added two half walls to the Argy trap and it worked like a charm. The new design you have is much leaner. Thanks.
you can left click a foundation once and then you can use the mouse to move forward or back to raise or lower the foundation before left clicking one more time to set it.
Another great video. Best part of the puck up anytime change is that you will also pick up things supported by what you removed and not destroy them IMO
how do you see where you are going, I'm on ps5 and built something similar but have a very difficult time seeing to drive. i replace all my walls with columns.
They’ve broken the path finding on Dino’s, I assume in an attempt to improve ai. Most big Dino’s will follow you into the trap but some of the smaller ones struggle. Baryonyx for example just zip back and forth for no good reason I can see. Pathfinding for tamed Dino’s is shocking too, they just dart around in circles, I’m not looking forward to tek cave if they don’t fix it lol
With the new tracking A.I. for wild Dino this did not work with a mammoth. I tried multiple times and the mammoth would get to top of ramp and turn right and fall off and not go in pit. I even tried eliminating all unnecessary stuff and making the trap pit a 3x4 still a no go. All this may be due to me being on foot and not on a flyer. I recommend anyone that builds this bring a flyer. I am not saying it will work with flyer but without is impossible.
hey man! i had a question, on ase you can extend foundations out with ceilings first then foundations under, picking up the ceiling after, is that still working in asa?
I haven’t tried a 2x2 for a Rex in ASA, some of the Dino’s seem to be bigger than before, for example it is hard to get an anky in a 2x2 or a doed in a 2x1 (hard but possible) whereas it was easy in ASE. I would modify it to a 2x3 for a Rex
Yes, been playing on steam on official for the last few weeks just getting my boss breeders established and will be running caves soon but I’ll be doing it all again when it drops on Xbox
@@uptightllama I play on pvp but always have bad luck. I can play single player to get all achievements but I really want to get them the official way PvP or PvE but can’t solo
Official pve solo is a thriving community, can be done just takes longer and then for the harder caves and bosses you can always join an alliance of other solo players. Most servers someone will run a community discord which is great for things like that

Yay you're back!! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos 😊
Thank you, more to come I assure you 😊
Ark has changed so much since it first came out. I love the new building machines. It has been needed for so long.
100% agree, building is no longer the chore it used to be
Another great video. Best part of the puck up anytime change is that you will also pick up things supported by what you removed and not destroy them IMO
Agree, for the first time ever I’m actually enjoying building, the new build mechanics are awesome
Can't wait to see more videos
Don't need to sink foundation with pillar anymore - I see this was discussed multiple times :)
Finally released it for you on xbox, looking forward to the next video
Llama!! Welcome back ! I was worried you stopped posting! Glad to see you are doing well and enjoy the game...still waiting on xbox :(
Nah, just got too caught up playing and didn’t do any recording 👍, hoping x box launch is soon

the return of the Llama
We’re just getting started 😊
Can you verify that the fall traps actually work still. I was told that the dinos are too smart now. They run up the ramp. Stop and turn around.
They work sometimes. I’ve trapped a Theri in one and some other Dino’s but it doesn’t always work.

I'm loving ASA. I have 130 hours in so far.
Nice one, you still on SP Nicky?
@@uptightllamaYes, NItrado rentals for ASA servers are unaffordable now, so it's single player for me.
Agree the price gouging is ridiculous, that’s what happens when you create a monopoly

I did try this briefly and couldn’t get it to work, I think the snap points work differently but I could be wrong
Interesting

I find that the drop traps up ramps don't actually work anymore. The dinos won't path usually.
It seems to vary, the Dino pathfinding is pretty broken rn, wild and tamed both
Did you get it on PC?
Yes, I caved, couldn’t wait any longer 😊
@@uptightllama if i had a pc i wouldve done the same thing, just glad to see another video
