HEY GUYS! In today's video, I will be testing out Black Rice water. So many of you suggested that I try black rice instead of white rice because it is more effective and works faster for healthy hair growth. I really like the black rice water and I did notice that it doesn't smell as bad as the white rice water. The black rice is a lot more expensive compared to white rice so that is a con. I will continue to use the black rice water for a few months and let you all know if it is worth buying but for a first impression, I am impressed! Make sure to subscribe to my channel for new videos and comment "forbidden rice" in the comment section if you are reading this!

Its REALLY EASY to make.....but its gonna stink because it starts to ferment after a few days. Dont be put off by this because this is what makes it work better. What I did was add it to my detangler. Have had it for a couple of months now and it still smells fine. But of course, you can make a fresh batch weekly or bi-weekly if you want. You can also add a few drops of essential oils like Lavender oil, etc. Good luck!

Found this info on black rice. I will definitely give it a try for my hair:
Since black rice doesn't undergo any refining or processing, it is able to retain its antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Black rice also contains important antioxidant- Vitamin E, which is useful in maintaining eye, skin, and immune health.

@@empoweredwomanempowerswoma8067 It works great!!! I'm constantly using it off and on since I get my hair braided and I like to wait for 2 weeks before I put rice water on it so my braids won't frizz up and look fresher longer. I started using it in September. When I do wear my hair down I use it basically every day as a leave in along with aloe vera juice (I separate the 2 tho) so in summary I've been using black rice water on and off for 6 months and have gained a ton of growth/length retention since my big chop. ( btw I keep my rice water refrigerated) I'm pretty sure if I were a lot more consistent with it I would have more length. Also I'm high porosity so it doesn't hurt me to use it every day but for others that might be too much. I hope I helped and of you have any more questions just let me know 😊

I ferment it in aloe vera juice, strain it after adding coffee grounds to mask the smell, I also add castor oil for additional moisture. I sometimes even include hibiscus. My rice water smells after just 24hours, lol. I do mine as a spritz and leave it in so can't have my locs stinking. I love it though, the benefits to my roots/scalp/hair thickness...freakin awesome. Q: do you know if I can just spray it to braided hair since I cant wash it out? I normally use water with a little coconut oil every morning for moisture, I want to substitute that with rice water. How many times do you spray rice water to your hair in 1 week and do you wash it out every single time?

I started using rice water about a month ago now. I think I've been doing it wrong, though. I was already spraying my hair with water every day to style it. So I just switched to rice water everyday. But I'm seeing a lot of videos where evidently you're supposed to rinse it out. Is there a wrong or right way to use it? One video said the rice water is putting protein in your hair and you shouldn't put too much protein in your hair. I didn't see that video until I was already 3 weeks in, though. Any feedback would be appreciated ladies.

    • @Happyisland1980
