- Not every fishing trip goes according to plan...In this saltwater episode Graeme heads Hi Sea Drifter out to sea on an idyllic weather day....but the fish took a while to come on the bite. By changing areas and tactics he eventually finds the fish...and if you want to know how Graeme rigs his anchors, check out the 2nd part of the film in the Tackle shack where he shows you how he trips his anchor for retrieval, how to make a grapnel anchor for reef fishing, shows an old school hand warmer and some tiny head torches...what a mixture !!....Enjoy

What a great tip with the anchor and cable tie so simple and cheap I’ve a good mind to patent it and become awfully rich.

Brilliant I liked the bit at the end about torches it made me laugh because years ago I remember begging my grandad who was a post man for a post man's torch for sea trout fishing at night greatest show on TH-cam

No worries, I was out shore fishing last night in a freezing gale,but still good to get out and try...would sooner have the warmth of summer given the choice.
I use a little clip on rechargeable torch when I'm night fishing because I hate sleeping with a head torch strapped to my face but don't mind wearing a peaked beanie with the tiny torch clipped to the peak. Having something that's ready to go is essential for me because I tend to charge out without thinking when the alarms start wailing.
As a fellow man of tired working hands I also struggle when it gets cold but recently I've taken to buying waterproof thermal work gloves to wear on the bank and they really do make a difference, they're not bulky so you retain most of your hands function but they keep the damp out and keep the heat in. You can pick a pair up for around a tenner from the internet or from your local toolstation etc.

hi graeme yes you can still get the pocket hand warmers and for point 2 for your sacrificial archer with the scaff tube you could put some ground bait in there for some in line ground baiting ps love the show good job keep up the good work

Sandgate Folkestone , used to fish with my ded , lots of good size whiting come back to mind , mind you that was late sixties , when c onger [and good size to ] were considered a nuisance lol.

I don’t think we have the charcoal stick style hand warmers here in the US but we do have the catalytic naphtha type such as zippo makes

Some good tips, alas too late for my lost anchor.
I took some spinning gear to tenneriffe years ago and fished 50 yds from shore it was only 3 ft deep so i waded out i used a vèry shinny spinner on 15lb line and an 18 inch trace
I saw some bait fish jumpiñg so i flicked my spinner just pást them three turns bang somèthing hit it
I reeled in my first and only barracuda jesus teeth on it like esther ŕantzen
After that i decided just to fish from shore and rocks i did not fancy being in water near those buggers

Hi Graeme when you ever want to go to a good fishery I suggest moss farm fisheries been here allot of times,and it's a great multi lake fishery and the owners are lovely and helpful.

Hey Graeme, here's an old victorian tip for you, drop a silver coin into your milk it keeps for it fresh for days... and it works. (Real silver not the modern crap coins)

Quick bit of info on the Spiny Starfish. Extremely important to reef systems as they control the shellfish population. Without Starfish, shellfish would clog the reef and reduce species diversity.
I thought it was the other way round ? Are not the Crown of Thorns Starfish decimating areas of the coral reef in southern hemisphere ? Maybe its the reverse in our Northern hemisphere and what you say does happen.Anyone else out there with Starfish theories ?
@@TAFishing as far as I'm aware in temperate waters like Ireland and UK, they play the roll of predator and scavenger which is helpful to a healthy reef system but they only thrive in specific environments. Your correct in saying the Crown of Thorns is destroying reefs in Southern Hemisphere but some scientists say it could be linked to excessive nutrient run off from agriculture into the rivers and then into the sea causing a huge increase in their population.

In the UK,the Blue is most common,then the Porbeagle,then Thresher,and the Holy Grail would be a 500lb Mako. The icing on the cake would be to film a UK Great White.
