Love your videos. We have a five year old and thinking of getting a camper van. So great to see your family oriented videos with lots of wonderful ideas.
I haven't got a cover for my pop top but when cleaning the van roof, I stupidly used the extending ladders, that you are using for access. To protect the edge of the van, where I placed the ladders, I even placed a towel beneath the ladder, to stop it marking the metal on the van. Later my son noticed three small dents in the metal, which I then realised what did it. I got the dents out later by using a paintless dent repairer, when he was sorting out a small parking dent at the same time. The outcome is that I would never use and place a ladder on the side of the van again. The metal is very thin there and there is no structural support for it to support the weight of you plus a ladder. I now use a set of free standing tall steps, with no further problems.
Hi, really enjoyed your video. I wondered if you ever considered making a video showing how to measure the pop top accurately? We have a VW California and I spoke to the owner at Rainbow last year and mentioned that I was worried incase I made a mistake with my measurements. He said that one day, he may ask a friend to make a video, to show the best way to do this but never got round to it. I think it would be brilliant if you could do this. Thanks for reading my reply Glenn
We have a Thule Oniminster Awning. It’s fitted with specific VW brackets. We had it fitted professionally…I didn’t like the thought of drilling something into the van! Thanks for watching!
Blimey what a faff. So you need a ladder. Limited space. Why on earth you need one. Better if pop top manufacturer would make one . When it's raining and wet it must create condensation when packed away. George

Hi Glenn, that’s a great idea, we were worried about measuring up but it worked fine. I’ll add that video to the list! Thanks for watching!
@@OurVanLifeWithKids Thanks ever so much
Can the wrap be left in situ and put the pop top down
Does It clip on or just literally wrap around then tied? Where do you keep the ladder when travelling?
Oops just got to the end of the video and now know the answer to my question thanks😅
I like the thermal wrap but where do you store such a big item when you’re travelling?
Hey guys great job, I have one but was wondering what size your ladder is, make or link to buy would be appreciated👍🏻🏴
Thanks for watching, here’s the link, it’s the 2 metre length: amzn.to/3tdX4of
Hi my friend

Hey, What are the dimensions for pot top ? I want to order one for my Cali.
Can you let me know what make of your ladder is? We’ve just bought a Cali and think this would be pretty useful!
Of course it’s a the 2 metre length: amzn.to/3tdX4of
don't use it as they did, it dents the metal. I know, I have done it.
Hiya can you close the poptop with it on?
How does it let the air in summer or winter?
Hi in the summer it reflects the heat, in the winter it keeps the heat in. Thanks for watching
