I LOVE this vacuum. I just used it for the first time and only 3 bees died in the vacuum. I’m so impressed.

I just did the same cutout except the mobile home had a brick skirt around it and the colony had extended beyond the steel support beam on the other side of which was the trailer tongue where they normally get stored. Had to work directly under colony and pass the comb through a foundation vent hole which I had removed. Standing water and mud on crawl route to colony.

Trust a man who shops his prototype gear from Digikey or Mouser. He knows what hes doing!

I have not been a fan of a "bucket vac", but I DO have to say I like the fact of how quiet it is.
1 small piece of advice - use a small filet knife to cut the comb off the wood: it will cause less honey to drip (especially nice when you're laying under the hive like that). It'll also make it a cleaner cut (better for when you frame it).
Advice #2: squirt a bit of Honey-B-Gone into that insulation before you start and it will keep the bees from running back there and hiding.
Spicy bees you got there! LOL I would want to find that queen to pinch her..

Can you run that vac off of a cigarette plug from your car battery? If the power usage is low enough, I can see a big advantage in not needing to carry a generator...

@@cornerstonehoneybees2525 so is Cornerstone Honey standing for Jesus Honey or are you referring to a different cornerstone?

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:18 ... and upon this rock (referencing what Peter said in v 16) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

For some reason viewer comments are not showing up (youtube bug?). I was asked if I was stung as this is an aggressive colony. Keep in mind that I'm in Texas, most wild colonies are partially Africanized. I'm used to it. I had gotten some new socks that are a little thinner and a few tips of stingers reached through. But I'm well protected and stinging isn't an issue.

Yeap, this is how they are in south Texas, Nasty girls.

I do not complain about the temperament! You say 'nasty', I say 'Hearty'! I have lots of these types of girls. But I do zero chemical treatments on dozens of colonies and have zero varroa problems, zero SHB problems, zero CCD the last 3 years. Not one lost (not even weak) colony.

Which version or package is the vacuum you are using? I want to buy, but not sure what has it all, like that adaptor to move to the box.

Hi. That video is the Gen1 vacuum, we are now selling the Gen 2.5. The 3" PVC adapter is no longer used. This video shows one method of emptying the bees with the Gen 2 / 2.5: th-cam.com/video/TJbdetsaXow/w-d-xo.html . Call us at 512 995-0058 for more details.

They are callled "PVC Gloves". Try harbor freight, about $8. Cuts my stings to the back of hands from 100's to just a few.
