hands down absolutely amazing intro scene, the best I've experienced in general, in any game in the first 20 minutes this game got me hooked like crraaaazy. "They're covered in nipples!" the overall goofy tone of this game was so fascinating as a kid growing up, I think I replayed this game like 3 different times.
I remember playing the demo of the original on PS2 back when I was a kid so many times! Good memories! Didn't know this was out already! It's like a remaster of the remaster but with extra stuff!
The funniest thing about this whole game is that ultimately Crypto started all of this. If he wasn't dumb enough to park his spaceship literally in the path of a launching rocket none of this would've happened... or at least not as quickly.
I'm a bit mixed on the new cinematography and animations, I had a similar feeling with Halo 2 MMC. On one hand I really like the shiny new visuals and additional camera work as well as some of the added body language, but I feel like some of the reshots lack the same impact. Like how Crypto slaps his head when calling Pox a "smart cookie" in the original, it added just a small bit of extra physicality and humor that's missing here. Other scenes like how Crypto 136 raises his gun before collapsing in the intro is a little more dramatic in the original game. Still I do enjoy these versions all the same even with their mix of better and in my opinion slightly worse alterations.
Interesting to think how the main Rick from Rick and Morty is C-137, while the protagonist from this game is Crypto 137... Coincidence? I don't think so.
