Way to push forward with the toiles! I made 3 drafts of the Cashmerette Meriam trousers, and I finally got it - so proud - and excited to have trousers that fit! Can't wait to see the blouse!
Thank you - it will be good to have a Lyra that fits although I have not started the proper one yet so one never really knows. It is worth making the adjustments though to make something that really does feel great to wear!
Love all the fabrics this week. I had the animal fabric with a blue background, it was quite an expensive fabric and is lovely quality. Good luck with your interviews . I have made the canvas jacket by wardrobe by me, lovely jacket, always get compliments on it, they also have the painters jacket which is more of a work wear jacket.
I am looking forward to seeing the shirt you make from the jumpsuit. That fabric is so pretty! Good luck on your interviews. I know you’ll do great!! Love the matching shirts for your father and son!
Sold plans! Nice Itch to Stitch shirt pattern. Good luck on your interviews. I bought a Mimi G jean jacket Simplicity pattern I haven't made yet but there is a full tutorial available. Looks like a nice jacket, I believe it is only a paper pattern from different placed like Amazon, Simplicity. The Hampton jacket also looks nice by Alina Designs Co. I didn't realize Jalie patterns have a jean jacket pattern, they are well written patterns. I have made the Style Arc Stacie jacket pattern in linen which turned out nice with lots of videos help as poor instructions. I think I would try the Hampton next or the Jalie pattern.
Good luck on your interview. I am planning on sewing the Jalie denim jacket 2320 to me it looks like your typical Jean jacket. Have a great rest of your week!
Jean jacket: Alina Design Co. has .the Hampton Jacket; I didn't like the Seamwork jean jacket, and I like all my Chi Town Chinos, which is also from ADC. So I'm keen to try that one. Nothing in the last few years from Alina Des. Co, but I just checked last week and her patterns are all still up. I'm glad you had a good trip and safe return = I had to jump back to your last video and see what goodies you picked up!
I made the Itch to Stitch Atenas jacket from old jeans last year for a scrapbusting insta challenge. I’m looking to make the Sorrento at some point for a more cropped jacket so I look forward to whenever you and Clare get your videos out
I made the Avenir and it did fit but I think nextime I’ll add length to the top, I had the same problem with the Zadie, I added to the length in the top and didn’t compensate for the rise, third time lucky to get the fit right, so frustrating. Pretty fabrics, good luck with your interview
Yep - I think the pattern is so cute so want to make the changes so it fits great and luckily changes to the rise and lengthening the bodice are not too tricky (she says before she attempts it 🤣) thank you!!
Hi Melissa. I watch your videos regularly but I’m not much for commenting😊. However, I have a Jean jacket recommendation for you - the Hampton by Alina Patterns. It doesn’t seem to show up much on social media but I really like it and have made 2 which I wear often. In my mind it is a pretty traditional jacket. Give it a look. 🇨🇦
Hi Marissa thanks for the great vlog, I’ve always been a bit tempted to make the Hampton Jean jacket by Alina design co it looks like a great traditional denim jacket if you do make it I’d love to know how it goes. Happy sewing.

Thank you!! I will check out wardrobe by me for these jackets!
Good idea to hack the jumpsuit into,a peplum top. I think I would have done the same as the fabric is really nice and should not go to waste.
Peplum top was a fail sadly...😭
I am looking forward to seeing the shirt you make from the jumpsuit. That fabric is so pretty! Good luck on your interviews. I know you’ll do great!! Love the matching shirts for your father and son!
Thank you 🥰 peplum top was a fail, there was just not enough fabric to make the peplum sadly
@@theumbriansewist 😞
Good luck with your interviews! What kind of work do you do? Can’t wait to see the peplum blouse you make out of the jumpsuit! It’s a great idea!
Thank you! I can say that the peplum blouse was a no go sadly...so annoying as I loved the fabric 😭 I work in sales for software/tech companies!
The fabric for your next jumosuit reminds me of strawberry ice cream cones 🤣 Fingers crossed for your job interviews x
Ha ha Yes it kinda does! Thank you!

This looks like the perfect jacket! Other people recommended the Hampton Jean jacket but the sizing options are limited! Our videos come out Monday!!

Thank you - yes lots of people have recommended that and it does really look like the classic jean jacket - it is on the list!!
I’m so late watching this but I’ve my fingers crossed for the interview for you!
Thanks! Well I got the job in the end and start in the beginning of October 😁
