      Yeah, how could the delivery and setup guy make such a giant mistake. It actually depicts Wiper/Washer symbol right on the cap. Can't imagine the mess that would result if you put power steering fluid in there and spray it all over the windshield. Yeesh.

      Thanks Sean! Glad you enjoyed it. It’s definitely a new approach at a vehicle, but I think it strikes a perfect balance between a car and a motorcycle, and is more usable than a golf cart because of the higher top speed (no offense, haha). Once they can bring the price down I think it’ll be decently compelling

    Great to see a delivery in San Diego. I ordered mine last month, been informed I have a VIN but there are supply constraints.😣 The hat and bottle opener are cool, but I would've liked an Arconaut shirt. Quite envious of the deluxe paint, very nice, looking forward to the day FUV's are ubiquitous. Thanks for the video, and for keeping my stoke level high.

    • @BrandonKipp
      @BrandonKipp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I’m glad they’re ramping up deliveries, and I’m wondering where the other FUV in the delivery trailer was going. They can fit four in each trailer, so who knows. In any case, the supply constraints are unfortunate, but it just further builds people’s excitement and temptation about the vehicles, haha. The paint was incredibly shiny, and I loved the contrast between the black and white as well. Once they can get the price down to $10k as they’re planning, these vehicles likely will be ubiquitous, and that’ll be an exciting time. Glad this video was able to hold you over until you get your FUV, haha

      Thanks for watching! The vehicle was actually sold in June, 2023 - about a year after purchase. The only issue in that time was that the throttle would occasionally cut out, requiring you to go into neutral, and back to drive again. No major issues though, and the owner put about 650 miles on it in that time.

    These are super cool, absolutely on my wish list if I every buy another car (don’t need one right now as I’m working from home and have local shops). Personally I’d modify to a single seat with an enclosed rear storage space for shopping but that is down to my lifestyle requirements.

    • @BrandonKipp
      @BrandonKipp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yeah, they actually have a single-seat version with large rear storage; it’s called the “deliverator”. I’m not sure if that model is currently available for non-fleet customers to purchase but I’d imagine it would be soon. I’ve seen the inside of that model and it has an incredible amount of storage. Plus as you said, a majority of people travel by themselves so there’s definitely a market for the single-seat versions.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Deliverator is $5K more, not worth it. I removed my rear seat and added cargo net to enclose the rear and I also have the locking trunk option. Any modifications that involve drilling will void the warranty.

    I thought there might be some criticism in the Comments regarding the "Don't touch that - it'll kill you!" warning about the big cable array behind the plastic screen under the bonnet (hood? Whatever 😁), but it made complete sense.
    In the engine bay of an ICE car it's pretty obvious what's going to pulp your thumbs, eat your fingers, or grab your hair and drag your face into a spinning pulley - all those belts, fan blades, linkages and hot, hot pipes - but an EV just sits there, humming innocently to itself, waiting to bite...

    • @BrandonKipp
      @BrandonKipp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, in most EVs and hybrid cars, all the high voltage wiring is required to be colored in bright orange so that you know what could kill you and what won’t. Still, I definitely agree that the engine bay of an ICE car is far more obvious when it comes to things like this

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no need to know the exact voltage. The warning is sufficient. The FUV has a 103 volt battery. Balking at a voltage warning is silly, ICE cars have huge fuel tank bombs underneath. Statistics show that EVs are safer than gas for hazards from the power source.

      @@charleslindsay3201 Much more so for ebikes than for EVs. The main spec you want is battery capacity in kilowatt hours. Arcimoto's is 18.4 kWH. Small EV cars are around 40 kWH. Battery bank voltage does not influence safety for the owner unless you put hands where they do not belong. The owner manual provides safety guidance. Most EVs automatically cut power to the main relay when there is a collision.

      Mono Racer E is a dangerous motorcycle for one. No cargo space, no stability, you can't even put your boot out to stablize a hard turn. It has no certified 24G crash cage or 6 point harness so you need a helmet. When leaning in turns, all motorcycles are dangerous due to slick spots, pea gravel patches or just rain. After surviving 5 motorcycles I feel very safe in my Arcimoto. I have 14.5 inches of car tire tread width on the road at all times, no rounded tires that slip easily. That behavior is becoming obsolete fast.

      Arcimoto will not sell in any state where they have not first set up mobile service teams. That list just jumped to 13 states. Several hundred FUVs, plus rental fleets, are in Florida. They come to my door for software updates, recall actions and warranty work. So now you know there is no reason to wait.
      Rich? I'm probably the poorest one to buy this. I rode ebikes for 7 years to save up for my Arcimoto on my SS pension. It took half of my entire modest life savings to buy and it was worth it. So fun and so much safer than motorcycles I have owned in the past. This was the only new vehicle I ever bought.

The idea is to avoid the solar oven effect and dead weight of doors and glass. This final of 5 prototypes is far better than previons versions. They saved 16 inches of vehicle length and 220 pounds of vehicle weight by going to handlebars. The long design history shows.
