Wounded Reconnaissance Marine Gets Life-Changing Surprise

- Ben Tomlinson is a Reconnaissance Marine injured in Afghanistan in 2010. When he returned home, his hometown of Jacksonville, Alabama rallied around him. I know ben personally and he is so positive on life its amazing! Their currently building a smart home right next to his families home in Jacksonville. Im younger than he is but my older brother is friends with his brother so thats how i know him. And he was a recon marine so that right there tells you hes bad ass ;) once a marine always a marine

This is the best blog I've seen all day I just wanted to thank you for your service. when someone goes to the military giving up part of their life. They make sure that we are all free. They giving up years of their life for that cause. I can't thank you enough.

Gary Sinese is one the few celebrities that really gets it. I applaud him for sacrificing so much for us veterans.
I can't imagine how life changing such an injury can be for someone. I also served in the USMC in Iraq 2 tours. I was a POG though so I was always spellbound at the bravery of the grunts and special ops. They were in hell risking thier lives every day carrying heavy equipment constantly being yelled at by superiors and enduring conditions that would break 99 percent of the population.
Ben if you are reading this know that you paid a price because very few people in this world have your kind of courage. Many people think they understand what you went through and are currently going through but you and I know that most of them don't have a clue. I have no doubt that without people like you this world would be overrun with unimaginable evil and human suffering. Your selflessness is the only reason people have the freedom to sit comfortably without ever having to pick up arms and defend themselves. What you did was more moral and loving than any charity or fundraiser could ever hope to be. Semper Fi brother. I know it's difficult but keep your head up.

Much respect for Gary Sinese. He was a blessing to Todd Love, USMC Recon Marine and so many other wounded warriors. The man deserves an honorary Marine Corps commission or at least a civilian honor like the Kennedy Center Honors for the good he has done and the continued respect and support he demonstrates for our veterans. Wishing and praying much success and good fortune for him as I suspect he would simply do more good with anything he receives. Semper Fi Sgt. Tomlinson. You *are* a hard Marine. I can't help but wonder how frustrating a rock concert might be to a young man coming to terms with being stuck in a wheelchair. I've had back surgery and can't dance any more. It saddens me when everyone's dancing and I can't join in.
