  • Hi this video is meant to be a wake up call to all men who start showing signs of prostate cancer.
    I believe there is not enough knowledge being shared a out this cancer that can affect a huge percentage of men from different racial back grounds.
    I ignored my early symptoms in the hope as most men do that it will just go away.
    This video will hopefully hp to raise awareness.

    Woody, I hope many see your video and hear the call for checkups. Like you I had back pain for a year, urinary problems longer. I put off until kidneys shut down and ended up in hospital. I also wish I had checked it earlier. It was a shock to hear stage 4

      Mike it's clear there is such a lack of awareness with this disease, if only, is such a sad couple of words but so true. I'm hoping more people can be saved from what we've endured Mike 🙏

    Thanks mate - This video has just described what happened to me before my diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer , apart from little details the exact same things happened to me including the terrible pain and docs telling me i have sciatica and the important bit , i noticed peeing was not quite right but I ignored it because I'm an older bloke in his mid 50s and that's what happens attitude.. DO NOT IGNORE ANY OF THESE SIGNS .. Thanks again Woody - Keep fighting my friend and enjoy life - I certainly intend to

    Great video Woody, you're spot on with what you say! I have stage 3 so I completely understand & yes guys, you must get a PSA test if you have any of the symptoms Woody describes, the sooner the better!

    I can’t wrap my head around making the choice to devastate your quality of life in order to stay alive. I just cling to the hope that I caught and treated my PC early enough… if I had to choose hormone therapy or just allowing the disease to kill me, I’m not certain which I will choose. I’m at peace with the eventuality of death and I value being able to live. If I can’t live a quality of life, then I don’t see the point of being alive.

      I have a good life Brad I don't have any regrets going on this my kids still have me and my life is good I just have to deal with the monthly PSA lottery it's a small price to pay for living. I hope you have caught it early and it's controllable but if not the hormone therapy is not the end of the world, I'm extremely grateful to have been given this chance to live.

      I’m stage4 metastasis spread to almost every bone. I did the hormone treatment and my cancer became resistant in only 4 months now I’m on to the last option and life sucks but I will go through anything to spend even one more day with my wife of 36 years and my five children God bless you all ❤

      I am sorry to say that I cannot agree with the replies to this comment; I have to agree with Brad here. I wished I had never known about my prostate cancer diagnosis this early. I would have lived in oblivion, but a good few years, I think, without being impacted in a bad way. I just finished radiotherapy, leaving me with cystitis and bleeding proctitis. The latter bothers me a lot, but not as much as hormone "therapy". People around me might have said about me that I was an odd person, but I always felt well mentally. Now that I underwent castration as a "therapy", I have phantasies about self-harm in my head, which just will not leave me anymore. How is that for surviving? Is it surviving? And if it is, what for?
      But there is one thing I agree with Woody and many comments here.
      If you have a prostate, have not stopped testosterone for any reason and are 50 years of age, do have a bi-annual PSA test. Ask your GP. If that's not possible, then have it privately done and pay a few quid. It's worth it. If caught early, you only need a focal therapy then, which is usually done in a day care setting. You don't need to stay in hospital at all ( bar any complication of course). You'll make a full recovery, undamaged in any way or sense. So, know your prostate health very early and then continuously and you'll be fine all the way. Over 50, male? Go and call your GP today!

    Had the same symptoms woody except my treatment was different, I went through 6 months of chemo then 2 weeks of radiation on the spine. Two yrs in my oncologist suggested radiation on the prostate because it was shown to increase the success rate by 30 % I now just receive my monthly shot of firmagon and I’ve been cancer free for 4 years now.

      That's great I'm glad I done this video. I think it's so important for paramedics to look for these signs Ive spoken to others who have had exactly the same experience and treatment from the medical services. I'm not knocking you guys by the way because you do an amazing job

    Hi. I have prostate cancer 4. I discovered more less in the same way with a back pain. But it was no not so bad. In the time my PSA is like yours around 300.
    I had chemotherapy for 6 months. It was a hell. I'm on hormone therapy now.
    My PSA was 0.08 last month.
    It s not easy to live this way. I try to be well. But my head is always in strange places. Sometimes a good place but most of the time in bad places.
    I hope that everything gone be ok with you.
    Good luck for us. God bless you

    Woody, what was the time frame between the urinary symptoms and the extreme pain? This is probably a dumb question and I don't want to appear naive or self-centered, but "Do you think cancer can be prevented by doing some of the mind work you describe?" You are doing a great service for people, and believe you will get rewarded somehow. My friend has prostate and seems to be doing well now, but if there is a way to prevent it, I want to try. Your channel has opened my eyes to the need to care for the body and mind.

    • @Livingwith-prostatecancer
      @Livingwith-prostatecancer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @heartburn I think the time frame was a good four months or more between the start of the symptoms and the onset of the extreme pain.
      In answer to your question I do believe that cancer needs the right environment for the cells in our body to go bad ie cancerous. That environment I believe is heavily influenced by our state of mind and our emotions over the years. What we think is what we get so to speak. I think that if the right mindset is in place and the body is fed with goodness
      Check out this podcast it will open your eyes I've been following Dr Bruce Lipton for many years he is a very respected cell biologist.

    Did you always go for a yearly exam and PSA check up prior to all this happening to you? And if so was all your results normal?
    I’m 53 been going for my yearly prostrate since I was 49 this past year my PSA rose 1.5 points Dr did a 12 plug biopsy on me all came back normal just have a enlarged prostrate but still pretty nervous about it.
    Thanks for posting your story. It will surely help many and give men confidence to be more aggressive about their health.

    • @Livingwith-prostatecancer
      @Livingwith-prostatecancer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hal thanks for your comment, I did not have a regular PSA check prior to my illness. I have to admit that I was completely unaware there was one. I'm trying to raise awareness of this test by doing this video and other social media events I've done. My opinion is if more people are aware then more people can be saved the anguish of this cancer getting to stage 4.
      I wish you well.🙏

      Yes, it’s something I have to live with now. I sometimes wonder if it would have made a significant difference I prefer to think it wouldn’t have changed anything.
