Religions Organisations Sociology (New Age Movements)

New Age Movements are one of the types of religious organisation that Sociology students need to be able to explain when discussing why some religious organisations are in decline whilst others are growing.
Some sociologists argue this type of religious organisation is replacing traditional religions in Europe and America.
A Level sociology students revising for the Beliefs in Society paper (AQA Paper 2) should be able to define New Age Movements and explain why they have grown in recent years.

Starts with WRONG information ; You must be under 30 to even THINK that NEW AGE spirituality came about in the 80's. I literally LOL. When he named YOGA etc. etc. those things I can remember go back to the 50's! The NAME, NEW AGE might have come about in the 80's but the movements, teachings, and practices I KNOW go back as far as the 50's.

www.britannica.com/topic/New-Age-movement - Wikipedia seems to suggest the same and students studying A level sociology are taught they emerged in the 1980's. Of course, everyone could be wrong....
