Finally I made a video showing you all my awesome (I think) LED lights that I have DIY myself. As much as it looks aesthetically most of the lights I installed serve a purpose. From the welcoming lights to the liftgate lights I took a lot of time and effort to install something which I believe should have come standard on most cars. I'm always adding more LED lights whenever I think of something but here's what I have so far to share with you all and I hope you enjoy. Ah totally forgot about them. And my side led turn signals too. I'll make sure to include it in the next one. Yes the interior lights makes life so much easier. I highly recommend.

I love the lights so my question could u share how did u wire the side interior lights and the rear hatch lights and the led brake light it that on the outside or inside of the car
Unfortunately I didn't film most of the installing when I did it. Let me know if you still have any questions. I may do a video to recap how I installed those lights. Let me know if you guys would be interested.

At 4:40 led strip I order the same one but it's 60 inch did you cut back on ? Do you have a installation video on it 😮
60 inch should be the perfect length for the back of the element. Is it too long for you and stick out?
How did you wire everything together? Especially how to wire the welcome lights.
The welcoming lights are wired to the centre dome. Comes on and off in sync with the key unlock and doors open and closing.
@@lifewithabox Would the come on when you use the dome light now, or is there a blocking diode in place to prevent that? Unrelated, I really like the idea of the lights on the rear window hatch.
@@lifewithabox Do you literally run the wires from the welcome lights (side mirrors) up into the ceiling dome light and attach them? Awesome mod. I'd like to do that with my 03
@@markthompson1796 Yes exactly! i was already in that roof area installing the side led bulbs inside the seat belt brackets on the roof and just ran the wire to the dome. I found this the easiest way since it's also in the centre of the car you can run more wires and leds to other parts of the car. Good luck!

I've been looking at these auxito LED bulb swap ins to the regular halogen / reflector housing.
have you tried this before you went to the proctor retrofit?
Trying to decide if it's even worth putting LED's into the halogen housing. Lots of youtube video's recommending auxito and the high / low beam LED drop ins
There'll always be a huge debate over this. I've tried all types of LED bulbs in my regular housing prior to the retrofit. Some do work and will be brighter than the halogens but don't expect anything amazing and will most likely distract on-coming traffic. I get not everyone can retrofit their housings. They do sell a projector housing on ebay for $3xx. Depending on your budget you can try the LED bulbs first, just return if you don't like the look and move up. But Projectors with HID or LED bulbs are the way to go if you want to do it right.

Is it possible to install lights like this with an external power? So they can be on without the car running?
absolutely. You. would need a separate 12v car battery in your car. You can have a charger to charge up that battery while the car is running. let me know if you have any more questions.

Did you need to upgrade your battery to accommodate all the added lights?
Yes I am running a Optima Yellow battery.

For the welcoming lights you have the on their own switch or is connected when you hit the alarm.
I previously had the welcoming lights hooked up to a separate remote but didn't find that intuitive and clumsy. Ended up wiring them to the centre dome lights. Now it comes on and off in sync with the key unlock and doors open and closing.

Did you need to upgrade your alternator or battery for this?
I do have a larger Optima Yellow battery. The alternator is stock. I never leave the car on without running that long and also lights are rarely on.. at least not all of them at the same time.
Did you need to do any load resistors because of the LED tail light bulbs and turn signals?
The front turn signals are still halogen. The rear are LED. it does sometimes hyper flash but if anything that's more eye catching. I haven't installed load resistors.

same here, the install of the light itself was fairly simple but how did you get the wire thru the side panel has me stumped

Yes the side mirror lights turned out more useful than I expected. I purchased the rear hood shocks just need to get them installed.
@@lifewithabox ok the rear hood shocks there is video on TH-cam but you order from a different Vehicle and then when you install them your rear hatch opens up like another 8 inches and so useful I don’t remember which model but there’s a video on TH-cam
