Really well done. Written faithfully to the characters. Franziska's doubts were understandable, but Phoenix's rebuttal came back and hit it out of the park. It feels like canon, even though it's not. Just as it should be.
Glad to see some specific appreciation for Phoenix's comeback. I had a lot of trouble trying to write it, as I quickly realized there was no hard evidence I could use. I'd imagine I felt about the same as Phoenix did in that scenario, lol
I can really appreciate the effort that went into writing this, felt very true to the canon Honestly I really wanna see Franziska return in AA7, it's been far too long since she's been in the series. And the 4th piece of evidence was a nice touch since that was never wrapped up even as of today
Yeah, AJ sucks, and acknowledging that bit of forged evidence in the video would've gone on a massive detouring rabbit hole. Phoenix did intentionally dodge the subject though. At 3:40 he says "In all of my years as a lawyer, I never have!", in reference to forging evidence. He does not say he has never forged evidence, just that he has never forged evidence as a lawyer. He isn't TECHNICALLY lying, but he is certainly leaving out information. If you think about it too hard, it kind of puts a darker undertone to this video, so for the sake of having a nice feel good video, maybe it's best to just ignore that bit of forged evidence...
This video ended up getting really out of hand, and took over 3 hours straight to make. (Spoilers in the rest of this comment) Surprisingly, I hadn't seen anybody else do a scene of Franziska giving Phoenix the card, even in videos where she returns in post-Trilogy times. It always sort of bugged me that we never got a resolution on that in canon, so I added an explanation for it here. I like what I came up with for it. I would say at least an hour was spent just struggling with what Pursuit music to use toward the end. At first I used Cornered 2004, but I REALLY wanted to use Questioned due to Phoenix & Franziska's history with the song (and because I felt like reusing Cornered 2004 was cheap and abused it's emotional impact in Trials & Tribulations), so I went through TONS of ideas trying to get Questioned to work. I tried making a custom song, I tried finding a remix, I tried using the original, and eventually I settled on this slowed down Questioned that sort of gives a similar vibe to Cornered 2004. It doesn't sound great, but it works for the short time that it's played.
