Severely doubt we’ll ever see a QB like Peyton Manning again. He was an anomaly. And nowadays the NFL prioritizes athleticism at the QB position over IQ of the game. It’s hard to even rank Peyton among other QBs because he’s just so drastically unique. Like you said, he was the offensive coordinator. He just was. He called the plays. He managed the entire offense. He’s meant more to a team than any other player in the history of the sport. No matter how many rings Brady, or any other QB gets, they’ll never be a more valuable player to a team than Peyton Manning was to the Colts.

Peyton Manning is one of those player that I think everyone can agree was just a spectacle to watch. There is simply no other guy like him to ever play the game he complained changed how QBs play. And everyone misses the Brady vs Manning games without a doubt the best rivalry in football history! Every time they completed you knew it was going to be a great game! Manning is without a doubt the player I miss most and wish could still continue to play

You should have taken a chance on him in 2012, instead of drafting Andrew Luck. Luck probably wouldn't have retired early if you kept Peyton Manning, cause he went over to a safer team. Anyway, it was nice beating you in the Super bowl with Tracey Porter

I’m a pats and I used to hate this guy but now that he’s retired I love this guy he was a great football player, if u ask me I think he is the best regular season nfl QB to play the game he easily could have won more super bowls and been up there with Tom Brady.

Preparation, awareness, accuracy (location/timing) and mobility. He had great receivers who could run routes and some who had enough speed. Then there was his ability to throw them open…putting the ball in a place where even his receiver had to stretch, dive or jump to make the catch. Absolutely Top 5 All-Time!

Bronco Fan here. I was glad as all get out when Peyton became a Bronco. When he was a Colt, he'd just carve up Denver something awful. There was one playoff game against Denver he threw I think 6 TDs. Colts were up 42-0 at half time. When it came to knowing the ENTIRE playbook, Manning was much like Steve DeBerg. DeBerg lasted for as long as he did because of that.

I still don’t think we truly realize how great he really was. He changed the game, he won multiple superbowls and championship games, broke every record imaginable while basically being the offensive coach, brought in a whole new game to the NFL. Did so many things before passing became easier. He did it with numerous different head coaches, coaching staffs, offenses, receivers, and even teams. Not to mention a neck injury that should of left him paralyzed on the right side.
It’s HOW he did it that makes him so incredible. As the decades pass and new QBs come and go and records fall. He will always be remembered as the one who changed the guard and brought in the true art of being an NFL QB. Such a legend.

Classic! Loved to watch Peyton play. His animations confused the defense and the defensive coaches as well. You never knew where he was going to throw the ball and you couldn't stop him if you did. They played the vertical game and stretched the field. One of the most brilliant and strategic moves the Colts made in the Super Bowl against the Bears in the latter stages of the game was to start running the ball.
❤ ❤ Loved that team, the coaches, and all the players, but especially Peyton.
