Using Epic Scale parts for 40k was not something I was expecting but it seems like a no-brainer. Those mechanicum constructs would make for some freaky chaos spawn proxies for my Iron Warriors.
I was going to say the same thing! Who would've thought to use Epic scale models to make Standard 40k size models. Now it makes me want to get some Epic scale titans and make a new 40k/30k dreadnought!
@@Dreadguard Good plan! I used titan parts for a couple of conversions already, works like charm! the librarian dread here is mostly acastus knight th-cam.com/video/CtwrhN0Ufg4/w-d-xo.html , and the redemptor here has some Warlord plates th-cam.com/video/zw2B3xkt8-g/w-d-xo.html
So another fun bit might be the torso for the aos banshee, you could either swap out the lower body entirely or just fill the empty skirt with mechanical bits. Would work well with any of the head options you used here or something like a sisters of silence head or maybe some of the female guard heads if they have any with cybernetics or re-breathers. Not sure exactly what to do with arms, maybe some of the skinnier skitari arms would be proportional.
@@TheMichaellathrop ah yeah cool idea! I had a brief go with some old nighthaunts, but it didn’t work out for sketching. That will need more cutting and sawing I think!
@@dehoofdwerker I've had good luck with the night haunts by taking the front of a Kataphron and cutting it down a little on either side so that it nests well inside the open robes, then just stuffing the inside with greenstuff and jamming stuff up in there, then either trim down a cyber head or maybe even a servo skull or use the mask option for the nighthaunt . Then just replace their hands with something suitably mechanical. I like to include some guitar wire and dinky mechadendrite grabbers coming out of the bottom of the greenstuff and stuck to the bottom front of the torso respectively(like little baby legs). Most of that is just my take, but the combo with the Kataphron torso works well with some trims and the shape of the cloak does a good job of hiding any gaps.
Yeah I've done it in the past for many conversions and the amount of detail they add is really great. Especially for mechanical parts, but the armour plates work great as well. The smaller miniatures might be useful for decoration as icons or something but I haven't worked that one out yet.
It sure would! It often helps me to get some inspiration, just take a regular bit and turn it upside down. You might be surprised at what happens sometimes.
Why did I not think of using epic scale stuff! I’ve been theorizing a way to play necrons on the same side as my buddy who is imperium during narrative events and this just made me realize I could probably use something from epic for scarabs. The idea I’m currently thinking is kitbash mechanicus and necrons into an army for Stygies VIII. I have necron bits cause that is my main army already I just gotta come up with some good idea. I already know I’ll give skitarii marshals the gauss blasters for Royal wardens and the techpriests will be overlords. Thinking of using the servitors from heresy as warriors, should be easiest since all that would need is swapping the laslocks with gauss flayers.
@@sekliley7587 ah yeah especially the new epic scale admech stuff for legions should work great for that! I think you can do some cool stuff with those tiny drones and the bigger robots.
It's poster buddies, but different brands hold differently and over time it will stick less. Try to get some fresh one from a slightly more expensive brand (blu-tac or in my case Pritt), that might help?

I got a Titanicus Reaver for that exact reason 5:29
Yeah that would work perfectly! The thin spindly look would also work for Drukhari I think

Awesome ideas! Never thought to approach a kitbash like this, so much creativity!
great to hear, and thanks!
Gotta love epic parts for kitbashing 32mm. I really wanna give my iron hands some Titanicus legs one day.
The upside down Armiger foot reminded me of B'omarr monks from star wars.
The Vampire body works too good.

They're so minimally detailed I don't know. Maybe as like familiars or critters. Like how some of the human models in AoS have little snails and such
@@graefx ah yeah! That might be a cool idea
Love these sketching videos, what a great display of creativity! (and happy new year)
@@Lady_Numiria thanks! More people seem to like them, maybe I should make some more!
Those spider legs would make great wings for lesser minions of Vashtorr. Some foot soldiers to fill out a dark mechanicum army.
@@johnbursi2804 yes absolutely! I think they should work great on both chaos and drukhari. Emperor’s children should work nicely too!
Hee hee, I bought both the stalker boxes for kitbashes too!
Ha, have fun with them! So many great bits.

that would make a fun theme for a contest or paint jam

Take a look to the old warmachine cephalyx warcaster for inspiration :).
I know! I used those in some of my previous conversions. Even the one that was shown on the GW website 🤫

What kind of putty are you using to stick the pieces in place? My poster putty never seems to hold well enough for this kind of "sketching"!
