  • Inside the abandoned Hotel Fresno. This video features the upper levels, floors 3-7.
Completed in 1913, the 7-floor Hotel Fresno was the largest, most extravagant hotel between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The hotel ceased operations in the 1960s and was converted into senior apartments. Hotel Fresno “temporarily” closed in 1983 for extensive repairs. This is the hotel 35 years after the temporary closure. Hotel Fresno suffered countless break-ins and vandalism over the years and was almost completely gutted in the early 2000s. The building continued to suffer vandalism while being exposed to the elements further damaging the structure.
On May 17, 2018, Hotel Fresno was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The owners of Hotel Fresno, APEC International, announced the hotel would be constructed into 79 studio, one-, two- three-bedroom apartments. Construction is estimated to be complete by the end of 2020.

It's hard to believe that my late father was a bell boy in this hotel and the Californian as well. I keep hoping they'll get this place remodeled as apartments for low income elderly and disabled.

I'd say tear it down fresno...make a brand new 25 story modern multipurpose office/hotel high rise tower with parking garage make it Fresnos tallest building.
